Itunes will not sync playlist with iphone

I have playlists currently synced with my iphone. I check another playlist to add and it and itunes goes through the syncing motions but does not add the playlist to the iphone. There is over 4gb of space and the mp3's are available on my pc. If I remove a playlist from the iphone it does get removed but it will not sync back. There are no errors displayed. Itunes 8.2.0.23 and Iphone os is 3.0.

I realize that but it does not Sync back when it has only Podcasts and if it has other then only the songs and not Podcasts sync back to desk. Songs work exactly as you describe.
My point is that at least I can go on a long hike without having to start each group of Podcasts Subscriptions after it finishes the episodes in the previous one. That can be a real pain, especially on long hikes with short Podcasts. It takes a very short time to set up the on the go. I DO NOT LIKE THIS but it seems the only answer for now.
I could restore the old version from my image backup then lose the neat new feature of arranging screens on the PC instead of the POD.

  • Itunes will not sync music to iphone

Since downloading IOS 5.1.1 my selected music in iTunes will not download to my iphone 3GS. Never had this problem before. The itunes library shows all the albums I want to sync checked off and even when I connect the iphone with the sync cable the songs will not be synced. I've looked at all settings and everything looks the same as it always has. I did get a new iphone 3GS recently to replace a stolen one but all settings remain the same other then the new software 5.5.1.
    Help?

Somehow this was related to me having to purchase a new 3GS when my other was stolen. At the same time we bought a new iMac. When I set the iMac up for my wife I set up a 2nd user account for myself. In that account I synced my new 3GS. It had all my music on there. My Macbook, where I thought the music files were still residing, had music files which were "grayed" out. When I tried to play a song from that extensive list I got an error message that the song could not be played because the "original" file could not be found. So I turned on "File Sharing" on both computers and when my library showed up on my Macbook I copied and pasted all the songs to my Macbook's music  library. I then had to go back and delete all the duplicated "grayed out" non-working files. I then synced my iphone to the new library and "voila" the music files had migrated.
There might have been an easier way to do this but I couldn't find it...and at least this worked!

  • My music from my itunes will not sync to my iphone

I recently dropped my phone in the toilet (it was in my back pocket), I purchased a new iphone (3G) unlocked and have downloaded the new IOS software on my macbook pro and iphone. My music is on my iMac and I've synced my contacts, calender and aps but my ringtones and music will not sync for some reason... I am not sure why... Can someone help me with this? I've done a software update on my imac and it says it's up to date... I can't seem to get the IOS 5 to download on my Imac... is this what I need to do in order to get my music to sync?

    Hey there 2Chainz,
It sounds like youre being prompted that there is not enough space. I would use the following article to help resolve the issue named:
iOS: "Not enough free space" alert when trying to sync
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1503
Try disconnecting and reconnecting your device, then syncing again to solve this issue.
Orphaned files may remain on your iOS device if it is physically disconnected while syncing music, podcasts, videos, or photos. This can prevent iTunes from syncing the iOS device on subsequent sync sessions. When this happens, the Capacity indicator in iTunes may report a large amount of "Other" disk usage for the iOS device. To resolve this issue:
Turn off the music or photo sync option in iTunes for the device.
Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
Turn the music and photo sync options for the device on again.
Click Apply again to try to sync the device to iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 5.
Turn off the automatic syncing functions for the iOS device. To do this:
Select the iOS device from the iTunes window and click the Summary tab.
Deselect "Automatically sync when this device is connected" and select the "Sync only checked songs and videos" checkbox.
Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
Reduce the amount of data that is being synced to the device and resync the device. For example, if syncing your Music library exceeds the memory capacity of the device, choose "Selected playlists" to transfer rather than "All songs and playlists" under the Music tab in iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 6.
    Restore using iTunes.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Regards,
    Sterling

  • ITunes will not sync songs onto iPhone, troubleshooting methods not working

Simply put, songs will not download onto my iPhone.  I have tried every method that I could think of to solve this:
    -restarting phone and mac
    -updating iTunes
-taking off all the music from the phone and redownloading
-rechecking the little check thing that says I want that song
    -restoring my phone
-going onto the individual tab to sync and syncing from there(which leads to a whole other problem, because that deletes songs(story for another thread))
-manually dragging songs onto my phone icon dropbox thingy
-making sure the songs are the proper files
... and still nothing has worked.
When I go on my phone menu when its plugged into iTunes, and then go to the 'On Device' section, it shows that the songs are there, but they are faded out with this little circle thing next to them(I don't know if this is significant).
I'm at my wits end, I just don't know what to do.  I don't understand why iTunes is refusing to do something as simple as sync songs.
Any ideas? Thank you for any help you can provide!

    UPDATE:
I finally figured it out (though I'm not sure this counts as 'figuring it out').
So, what worked for me was unchecking the check box thing next to the song and syncing the phone.  After the sync--behold!--, the songs were in my phone.  I don't know if this is another glitch or not, but I'm running with it.
I wanted to post the answer so that other people who may have had this issue can hopefully resolve it.

  • Itunes will not sync library to iPhone from hard drive

Have transferred Itunes library to an external hard drive to free up space on Windows XP. Library is recognised in file, but now will not sync when iphone is plugged in.

Welcome, barber....if you give more detail perhaps someone will have an idea. Are you getting any error message?

  • ITunes will not sync Photos with iPad

iTunes 11.1.5 will not sync photos from iPhoto 9.5.1 to an iPad running IOS 7.1.1....
The sync will not complete it just spins forever on 'importing photos'....  I have always selected Sync photos from 'iPhoto' and 'Selected albus,s, Events and Faces....   I typically only sync around 20 photos between the two but now iTunes will not add photos to the iPad nor delete photos from the iPad....
Since these photos were added with iTunes I can not manually delete them from the iPad....
If I deselect 'Sync Photo from iPhoto' the sync will complete but the photos are not deleted from the iPad....
I suspect that iTunes may be looking for a previous release of iPhoto (since the photo library was 'upgraded' to iPhoto 9.5.1 so it just seems logical that iTunes may not be recognizing the new and improved iPhoto library??
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.
    John Jones

    The photos won't get lost.
You don't sync photos to the computer using iTunes.
Import them to the computer like you would with any camera.
Then delete them from the iPad and re-add them using iTunes. This gets them out of the camera roll.
See this -> iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer

  • ITunes will not sync podcasts with iPod touch

I've tried just about everything I know and consulted the internet, but I cannot get iTunes to sync my podcasts with my iPod Touch. It will sync my music, but it simply will not sync any of my podcasts. It must be something simple, but I've exhausted my knowledge on this issue. It worked fine on my desktop, but when I tried to move it over to my laptop, it just wouldn't work, no matter what I try. Call me an idiot or whatever you need to do if this is something stupid, but please, help me get my podcasts back!

There's a good guide here on how to roll back to 10.7 https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4559563?tstart=0

  • Playlists on iTunes are not syncing correctly with iPhone on iOS 7-only 48 of 134 songs on one playlist are appearing (all songs are checked and I've tried this both hardwire and wireless)...help!

So, I could use help from people who know mre about this than I do. I did a sync last night between iTunes on my Mac (latest version of iTunes) and my iPhone 5 running iOS 7. For some reason, about 90 songs in one of my playlists have disappeared.
The songs are all checked in the playlist in iTunes
The songs were all on the iPhone playlist prior to the sync
I've tried a sync again both by hardwire and wifi
I added a song to the playlist on iTunes and the song appeared in the iPhone playlist, but none of the other 90+ songs came back
I haven't checked my other playlists to see what is there and what isn't (I have lots of music, so this would take days to verify).
I've thought about managing my music manually, but I would have to rebuild everything from scratch on the phone which would take days and I'd never get everything back to the right place.
In as much as I'm otherwise liking iOS 7, the new iTunes app for iOS 7 has been a real pain. This is what's really put me over the edge on it!
If you all have any suggestions that could help, I'd really appreciate it! The playlist I'm referencing most specifically is my most-used playlist and I'd love to have it right.
    Thanks!

    Hi oxman78,
That definitely sounds frustrating! Let's give this a go to see if we can isolate the issue futher:
First, connect your device and choose the "Music" tab. Next, uncheck the "Sync Music" checkbox, and apply the changes (so there is ultimately no music syncing to your iPhone).
Once you have done that, recheck the "Sync Music" checkbox, and apply the changes once more. This will instruct iTunes to completely remove all music from your iPhone, and then copy the files once more. If you have a large amount of music, this initial sync may take a while.

  • ITunes will not sync music to iPhone 4

I was having a problem syncing my phone for the past few days. When i plugged my iPhone into the computer itunes would not open. But it does acknowlege my iphone and i am able to get to the tabs on it. It would automatically start to sync, but wouldnt get past the "verifying iphone" progress bar.
This morning i took it to the apple store because in attempt to restore, it wouldnt sync anything at all. itunes would just freeze but my iphone would still say sync in progress.
so apple hard synced my phone, clearing EVERYTHING.
today when i got home i connected my phone and it looked like it was going to work, got to step 3 of 4, sync all the apps, but as soon as it got to music, it saying syncing [song] 1 of 450. and then it frooze.
    WHAT IS GOING ON?
I'm running windows xp and everything is up to date. i've gone high and low to find the solution to this problem. please help!

  • ITunes will not Sync song to iPhones 4s

Hey there, I'm pretty new here but I'm an having an issue. I just downloaded "remind me- Brad Paisley" and attempted to sync it to my iPhone 4s, when I plugged it in but for some reason it doesn't give me an error or anything, it just doesn't show up on my iPhone, any ideas?
I tried restoring it and putting all the music back on, with no result

Select you device from the left sidebar of iTunes and navigate to the Photos tab at the top. Do you have the Sync Photos With checkbox checked and set to iPhoto?

  • Itunes will not sync playlists

i just got a new computer (OS windows vista home basic). i keep my itunes directory stored on an external hard drive. i backed up my itunes library and was able to import it into my newly installed itunes with no problems whatsoever. all of my music seems to be present and all my previous playlists, as well. my ipod synced the music -- its all there if i look under artists or albums, however, the only playlists listed are the 6 itunes playlists (90s music, music videos, my top rated, recently added, recently played, and top 25). i've tried re-syncing it, i tried manually syncing just my playlists (when i did that, only 2 of the itunes playlists were listed...), but nothing has worked.
why won't my playlists sync up? any ideas??
    -drake

What kind of iPod do you have? Is the playlist that you are trying to add posessing completely new songs? In other words, are the songs already on itunes somewhere else or are they JUST added and they wont transfer over to the ipod?
Try just making a new playlist with nothing in it, just simply make a new playlist then update your iPod, do this with the iPod disconnected. Try resetting your iPod as well.

  • ITunes 11.4 will not sync ringtones with iPhone 6

all my ringtones are showing up in itunes but once they've been synced they do not show up on the iphone! help

I spent half a day yesterday sorting this out but finally a post on one of the other forums solved it...
Check that your original file is an mR4 file not MPEG. Even if it is mR4, it may have strayed into the Music folder in iTunes rather than the Ringtones folder. I had this same problem - no way to make it move from the Music library into the Ringtone library.
Apparently the problem is that once a file is in a folder, iTunes doesn't go back again to check the extension. You need to move the original file out of the music folder to, say, the desktop. Make sure it's deleted from the Music library. Then upload it back into iTunes and it should check its file type because now its a new file and put it in the Ringtones folder. Then make sure the new ringtone is selected and sync. This is what worked for me (finally).
PS: I used Audiko Pro to create the two ringtone files - one worked simply and automatically, the other was a nightmare. When I backed up from my iPhone 5 to iPhone 6, the first one transferred automatically, the second had a mind of its own.

  • ITunes will not sync to my iPhone

I add music to my iTunes, and I plug up my phone and click sync. iTunes goes through all the processes, and even tells me the sync is done, but no new songs are on my iPhone. I thought that maybe it was just the songs/file type I was trying to download, but I can't take any songs off either. The sync proccess just isn't working correctly. What can I do to fix this?

I figured it out! all I had to do was take ALL of the music off, and then I put everything back on, and it worked! my new music was added to my phone!

    Hey Oynkus,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
You state you updated your iMac to OS X 10.8.5.  Did you update iTunes as well?
If so, you may find the calendar sync options under Info.
Sync contacts, calendars, and other info with iPod, iPhone, or iPad - iTunes Help
Sync contacts and other info with iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad
Connect your device to your computer.
Click the device button, then click Info.
Select the items you want to sync.
    Click Apply.
    Take care,
    Nubz
