ITunes will not sync to ipod - no error msgs / new laptop

I have a new laptop and have just downloaded itunes and connected my ipod. First, after the download, I get a message that 110 of my songs can not be loaded onto my computer as they are not authroized to play o this computer. I review the songs listed in the message and say OK.
I purchased a song, resorted a playlist, and clicked sync.
When sync was complete, all of the music and files were wiped clean off of my ipod. And syncing does nothing.
My library in Itunes is in tact and everything appears to be fine. I authorized the new laptop on my account and tried again. Still nothing.
I have checked all of the sync settings on the device. I have tried to sync individual playlists. I have played music directly from itunes to make sure no error messages would appear.
Mystery. Can someone please help me understand where I am going wrong?
THANK YOU!

Heya. It sounds like you may have multiple iTunes accounts, and not all the songs were authorized for each account when you transferred things over to your new laptop.
To figure out which account you used to purchase a particular item, follow these steps:
1) Control-click (or right-click) the item in your iTunes Library.
2) Choose Get Info from the menu that appears.
3) Click the Summary tab.
Also note that when an account name is edited, the items purchased before the transition occurred will still list the original account name, but will need the new account name and password to be entered in order for the purchases to be authorized to play.
Once you've confirmed the authorizations, you should be able to sync things fine to your iPod.
Let me know how this works out =)

  • HT1386 After restoring iPod to its original settings, iTunes will not sync with iPod

I restored my iPod Nano 4th generation to original settings and now when I try to sync it with iTunes, only a few songs will transfer and I get a message saying file could not be found. Some of the songs in my iTunes library were transferrred from another computer and the files somehow did not transfer. However, even the songs I purchased recently will not sync. I have tried downloading the latest version of iTunes and restarting my iPod. Help!

  • Itunes will not sync with iPod

I have a new computer and have transferred all my music from the old computer to my new computer. I now have over 100 songs that will not sync to my iPod. I have gone through all the steps to "deauthorize" all my old computers, authorize my new computer, validate my two apple accounts (I ended up with two over time) and verified my passwords are correct. I have done everything I can find recommended to others, yet when when I try to sync my iPod, it tells me I am not authorized for all my music. Even when I login (which works), I still cannot sync my music. Any other thoughts....

I'm not sure how to reset or restore the iPod. I turned it off and on a couple times and that didn't help.

  • ITunes will not sync with ipod when music is not on C drive in Windows 7

For years I have used various versions of windows and itunes, always having my data on a different drive that the system with no issues. I am currently using Windows 7 RC1 and generally finding it far better than Vista.
My problem is that although iTunes works fine as an installation (downloading songs, ripping CD’s etc), however when I try to sync either of my iPods they get ejected before the sync can take place.
iTunes and windows recognise the devices before the device tells me it can be disconnected so the intial communication is ok.
Having done the usual research there are other people with the same issue, and it seems to be specifically to do with the fact that the data is not on the same drive as the OS. I have confirmed this myself as I have a second machine that is also running Windows 7 RC1 but that only uses a single drive/partition, and this machine and install of itunes will sync with both ipods with no issue. Likewise a different vista machine has no problem syncing with the ipods.
So can anyone help solve this problem without having to move the music folder to the C drive?
I appreciate windows 7 is not officially released yet and that an official windows 7 compatible version of iTunes will probably fix the issue, so please add this to the list of bugs if I have to wait for the official release.
    Thanks

  • ITunes will not sync with iPod, but opens MS Outlook '03

When I try to sync my iPod (5th Gen 30GB Vid) with my iTunes (ver: 7.1.1.5) I get the following error: "Attempting to copy to the disk "MOM'S IPOD" failed. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation. iTunes could not save to your Music Folder because you do not have write access. Check the permissions on your Music Folder and folders in your Music Folder, then try copying this file again." Also, for some reason, Outlook 03 opens. I removed Outlook, and still recieved the same error, but this time Outlook didn't open. I also removed iTunes, Quicktime, and Apple Updater. I removed all iTunes entries from the registry, and rebooted. I downloaded iTunes 7.1.1.5 to my hard drive and re-installed all the iTunes stuff again. The error still occurrs. Any suggestions?

  • HT1535 downloaded songs from itunes will not sync to ipod classic, I am not able to manually transfer them either

Songs are not downloading from itunes software to my ipod classic.  I have tried manually syncing, and they are all check marked.  Really frustrated as I have spent way too many hours trying to fix this.  Please help.  Is it possible my libraries are messed up?

Uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes has no affect on the media on the computer or the account it is linked to.
If the media was purchased under another iTunes account, then it is permanently tied to that account.

  • ITunes will not sync with iPod anymore

A few days ago, when I started up my iPod, it gave me a message that I needed to connect with iTunes to restore it. I did that, and it's back to normal, but now when I try to put my music back on my iPod, I get an error message that says "The iPod cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found."
I haven't changed anything on my computer or in iTunes since I last synced it, and I didn't drop or otherwise damage my iPod. Can anyone help?

  • Itunes will not sync with Ipod saying it needs restored

I moved my library to an external harddrive but this caused a fall out with the Ipod. When I restored my library the Itunes constantly wants to restore the Ipod. I have restored the Ipod several times to the point that it is totally cleared but the Itunes still does not like it and wants it restored.
    Any ideas?
