Itunes will only open once

Hello , I"m using windows 7,64 bit and can only open itunes once at startup. After I close it it will no re-open unless I restart the computer. I see many people are having this problem but no solution has been identified.

This is exactly what is happening to me. Very frustrating when you may want to open iTunes more than once. I'm using Windows 7, 64-bit also. And I just updated iTunes this morning (1/24/12).

This problem has only appeared in the past few days before that I had nio problems with itunes. Firstly I discovered that I could only open Itunes once after reboot - thereafter it would not reopen until I reboot again. I have spent considerable hours yesterday talking to the Apple help by phone and tried all there suggestions including of course reinstalling itunes amongst other things. Eventually I thought the problem had been solved when I discovered that I could suddenly open Itunes repeatedly without rebooting. After a short time I then discovered that the reason it was working agai was that I had rebooted with the internet disconnected and itunes would open repeatedly as normal provide I left the internet disconnected. For those still wondering how to install ios 6.1 on 5th gen iPod, you need to download it off of apples official website and then shift click restore from backup and choose the downloaded ios 6.1

Struggling with itunes, will only open after several attempts. When I attach my ipod it starts to sync and shows step 1 of 5 but only gets so far and then stops. I left the ipod connected

It won't even let me closedown itunes, just freezes and I end up having to switch off my laptop and restart. It's only recently that it started doing this and I've just bought an ipad so I'd like to get the problem sorted as I can't sync that until I do.

I had a similar problem, all you can do at present to rectify this is to grab your playlist or new created playlist or song from the main library or playlist and drop it into the ipod tab under devices and it will auto sync the changes or songs. Hope this helps.
There seems to be a problem with the syncing of itunes 11 (mine is 11.0.5) when you just use the normal sync method. the above should work and has worked for me when transfering a playlist straight into the ipod it automatically syncs.

Firefox will only open once from desktop and won't open new tabs or windows

When I clicked on Firefox's desktop icon this morning it took a solid 5 minutes for the browser window to open, and at that time I just chalked it up to my computer being slow.
Once it did open I soon encountered the first problem: when I clicked on "Open Link in New Window" or "Open Link in New Tab" nothing happened. Subsequently, when I did navigate to a website I was unable to click on any links whatsoever. I closed the window and tried to restart Firefox which is when I ran into the second problem: it wouldn't open. I opened the Task Manager and terminated firefox.exe, attempted to open via both the desktop icon and program folder but had no luck. If I restart my computer I'm able to open just the one browser window but with the same results of the first issue I mentioned.
I've tried all of Mozilla's troubleshooting tips in the "Firefox will not start" section with no luck. I've also uninstalled then reinstalled with no luck.

ITunes will only open in 64 Bit Mode from Dock since Restore

I have only ONE big problem since doing a restore from my Time Machine backup-up for for Late 2009 iMac 27". For some reason I can only get iTunes to open in 64 bit mode if I put an icon on the dock???? It opens in 32 bit mode which is selected in the Get Info - Command+I if I open it from the Finder (which is my preference due to my many 32 bit Visualizers....) but if I put a shorcut icon on the dock REGARDLESS of what my settinigs are in the finder it Always opens in 64 bit mode and tells me my visualizers can not be loaded... Which I am well aware of!   What I don't understand is why this has just happened since reformating and restoring from a time machine backup???? Everything else... at this point appears to be working just fine.   BUT if I open iTunes from the dock... 64 bit mode no questions asked.... opened from Applications in the finder and it grabs my 32 bit mode Prefs?    This is really irritating. I have dumped caches, re-downloaded and installed iTunes.   Not sure what else to do???   Why is this ONLY happeningn if I put an iTunes link on the Dock?    Any help would be VERY MUCH appreciated.   Thanks.

Here's the latest. I did the old standby of creating another Admin Account and the behaviour does not occur when logged into that account. So it appears that the restore somehow screwed up settings on my current account. I have indeed checked and there is no other copy of iTunes on my computer except for the DLoaded version of iTunes10.6 where I downloaded and tried to the re-install thing.
Of course still haven't heard back from Apple but I really wasn't expecting too this early. I guess that my next step is to transfer to the user/shared folder and change permissions on each and every folder/preference and file to the new Admin account... until I find out which setting is causing the problem.   To so this is a pain in 'arse' would be an understatement.
Also found out that Preferences has the same behavior as iTunes.   64 bit ALWAYS unless checked during that specific login and NOT started from the dock....   Strange though... both seem to hold the 32 bit (for the session) if run from 'recent', the Apple Menu, or the Finder???   As Alice would say "Curiouser and Curiouser"
My suggestion to ANYONE converting to LION (after this episode) is to back up and do a CLEAN install.   Obviously something from Leopard and Snow Leopard doesn't really like Lion that much.
I have been using computers since 1981 and Apples since OS 8 ... even had few dificulties with the OS X beta, but this one has me befuddled and somewhat irritated. I have thousands of dollars worth of software that I really don't want to have to re-install, re-register, but that may be the only viable option at this point.

Firefox will only open once

I can run Firefox once per profile & then it won't start again. I have to make a new profile to get it to open again. Alternatively, I can start Safe Mode and then exit after the prompt with the options to enter Safe Mode. After that I can start Firefox normally, but only once. Then I have to either create a new profile or get the prompt to enter Safe Mode. Without the Safe Mode trick profiles can only be used once before Firefox fails to start again. I already tried to treat this as an add-on problem, which is when I discovered that it was the fact that I ran Safe Mode, rather than because I disabled any add-ons, that made the difference. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox more than once.

Creative Cloud will only open once, then it needs to be re-installed + only get white screen + no adobe programs work

So the title is pretty clear. And I've done a ton of research and tried everything. It used to all work fine too. It started with none of my adobe programs being able to work. The little thumbnail icon would break and I would get an error if I tried to open any of them. This only happened with adobe software, and they would typically work for a while before breaking. Then the creative cloud app stopped working too. Anytime I get it open it's blank, and if I close it, the program won't launch anymore. I need to reinstall it.
I removed all adobe everything off my computer, and used ccleaner to get rid of any excess, then reinstalled the creative cloud app, still doesn't work.
My email had an underscore in it, but I changed that. No weird characters anywhere in my profile. I've also tried every variation of dealing with the OOBE folder stuff.
I don't know what to do... please help

Firefox will only open once per login

This started acting up i think around when i updated firefox when i was opening it. It only allows me to have one firefox window open. The tabs work find but i can't move tags to new windows, can't get on chat sites cause they require another window to open and i have to restart my computer if i close firefox window. I've cleared the cookies on here but doesn't seem to help.

You can make a copy of the Firefox desktop shortcut and open the Properties of that shortcut via the right-click context menu.
You can add a space and the "-new-window about:blank" text without quotes to the current command (target) line to open the about:blank in a new window if you use that desktop shortcut to launch Firefox.
Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

i think i need some help! i've had problems mainly due to my own studipity! i installed the standalone quicktime and that sort of helped. but now itunes will only open once if i close it down and try to open it again it wont open. i have to restart my pc. i also have to acept to the terms and conditons when it opens.
i also havent been able to access the music store today not sure if its just me or itunes is having trouble.
i'd really appricate any help

actually, the odd thing about your case is not so much that you aren't able to open itunes again ... it's that you can open it again after you restart the PC.
so let's try an experiment.
get itunes running again. while it's running, launch your Task Manager, and go to the processes Tab.
you should see an "itunes.exe" process in there.
now close itunes down.
does the itunes.exe process persist in Task Manager sfter you shut itunes down?
if it does persist, try shutting that process down in Task Manager.
if you can do that, are you then able to launch itunes again (without shutting your PC down first)?

HT4061 iTunes will not open when my iPhone 4S is attached to my Mac Book Pro. iTunes will start up but as soon as my iPhone appears in the list of devices the program then quits and displays the message 'iTune Quit Unexpectedly'? Can anybody help?

The Problem/s
1. I am unable to sync my iPhone 4S with my Mac Book Pro, either by cable, wifi or bluetooth
2. iTunes will initiall open and briefly identifies the iPhone in the Device section in iTunes.
3. When iTunes starts to read the iPhone (displaying the spinning wheel), it immediately then quits and
4. Opens a 'dialogue box' which displays the message "iTunes Quit Unexpectedly"

Restore the backup before you installed.
If you didn't make a backup, at very minimum make sure your Music library isn't compromised by locating the folder you selected the music to be in (usually in Users -> yourname -> Music) and make sure there are several MB of data there by clicking once on the folder, and selecting Get Info from the File menu in the Finder.
If you can't find it, try to locate parts of track names with Find Any File.

then determine which parent file of the .mp3 or .mpa files you have contains all of the music files by getting info under each previous folder in the folder tree.
Once you determine which folder contains all your music, back it up using the Finder, or backup the entire hard drive using cloning software at least to two different drives or two complete copies on DVDs:

You'll then want to erase and install 10.6 from the system installer you used to put 10.6 on your Mac, and run the combo 10.6.8 updater and apply the necessary security updates:

Help! itunes will only play one song at a time

My itunes is acting screwy. I open a playlist and play the first song, and itunes only plays that song. it won't keep going forward. it doesn't freeze up; i just have to manually play the next song. this just started yesterday with no adjustments, new downloads...no nothing. does anyone know what is going on? i have already uninstalled and reinstalled itunes, but to no avail. same problem. is this a setting somewhere that i don't know about?

Are the boxes beside each song checked? iTunes will only play the songs that are checked. To check all the songs press control + click in any box. To check only some songs, you can highlight them and then right click and choose check selection.

Itunes will not open error message- APSDaemon.exe system error

Murray3703, only one other time did this happen to me. It was over 6 years back when I had an iPod Nano and after doing the reinstallation, it wiped out all of the content and applications and corrupted by Nano to the point Apple said it could not be fixed. I had no other things corrupted on my laptop. So, I know it was not a virus.
I have tried fixing the problem with redownloading and "repairing" the problem but, it did not work. Since the Nano incident, I am somewhat reluctant to do this for fear that I will loose all of my content and paid applications to apple? I also have Windows 7.

I would say yes. I once had the same problem (iPhone 5, IOS 7) and first restored to factory settings and after that from iCloud backup.
It worked very well.

I thought it was going to work because an EULA appeared. I clicked OK. iTunes menu bar appeared this time but only the menu items "iTunes and Help". Still will not open to the point of usuability.
I can't even try to download iTunes 7.6 (http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/itunes76.html) because it demands me to download iTunes 8.
