ITunes window disappears when minimized, then maximized

Hi, I accidentally minimized (yellow button) iTunes and when I maximized it again (clicked on the minimized screen in the dock), it disappeared. I found it was there when I opened my spaces screen but there was no way to access it. If I clicked on it, it just went back to one of the spaces. The only way I could find to get it back was to quit iTunes and start it again (but then I tried to replicate the problem and it did the same thing, so restarting it didn't fix it completely).
Also, sometimes when I switch to the mini player, the player i nowhere to be seen and I have to right click on the iTunes icon in the dock, click hide, then click show and it's back.
Anyone know how what's going on and/or how to fix it? Thanks!
(ps I have the most recent version of iTunes and a G5 desktop mac)

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at the top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

What version did you have?
Books do nor exist except in the iPhoto database so you can not "find" a book vista TM. You restore a previous library (be sure NOT to overwrite your current library) and switch to it

ITunes doesn't import CDs without minimizing, then maximizing iTunes window

According to the instructions I found after digging through many help files and tutorials, I was led to believe I could open iTunes, insert a CD, then a CD icon would appear on the left, and I can then click on Import CD. Not so. I open iTunes, insert a CD, and nothing happens. However if I then minimize and maximize the iTunes window, which I discovered after an hour of putzing around, it THEN recognizes the CD and I can import it. When it's finished and I insert another CD, I again must min/max the window before it recognizes the new CD. ALSO, if I min/max the iTunes window while it's importing, the import is aborted and I have to start over. Is this the way it's supposed to work?

Itunes disappears when minimized to system tray

i have itunes set to minimize to the system tray, but when i do, it doesn't go to the tray, it just disappears
my music is still playing but itunes just isn't there
if i open task manager, it isn't in the applications tab, but it is in the processes tab as itunes.exe
the only way to bring it back is to click "new task" in task manager and type itunes.exe, but i don't want to do this everytime i want to change songs or something

Yes. In itunes, edit/preferences/advanced. Check the boxes "show itunes in system tray" and "minimize itunes window to system tray".
Then, drag the itunes shortcut to the startup folder in the start menu. Right click the new shortcut in the startup folder and select properties, then the shortcut tab. In the "run" drop list select "minimized". Itunes will open when your computer starts and minimize to the system tray.

Terminal.app bug when minimizing or maximizing window

I am running vi in a 24x80 window. When I maximize the window, terminal replaces the top line in the file with a random line from the body of the file. When I minimize the file, the top line is replaced with another random line. For instance, I have a file with 10 lines as follows ...
I maximize the window and it now contains ...
(the top line has been replaced with line 5)
I minimize and it changes to ...
Now the top line has been replaced with line 4.
Every time I maximize or minimize the window the top line may, or may not, be replaced with a line from the body of the file. This makes writing code interesting to say the least.
Any ideas?

For your issue, please try the following suggestions:
Update your graphic driver;
Update your Office to the last version;
Disable all
add-ins to determine if it could be caused by the 3rd-party add-ins;
Configure your computer to reboot in
clean boot mode to determine if it could be caused by the 3rd-party services and applications;
Tips:
To have your Office applications update with Windows, go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Windows Update\Change settings
Make sure the options - "Give me updates for other microsoft products when i update windows" is enabled.

ITunes entry disappears when I move the cursor - up to 3 times

A small but nevertheless annoying problem - very often an entry typed into iTunes e.g. Album or Genre will disappear when I move the cursor. This will happen up to three times in a row. Windows disappear when using spaces

Something very peculiar has begun happening today and I will describe its features below:
1) When switching from one space to another, all the windows in one space would completely disappear. They were not hidden, but the windows disappeared. The menu for the program was visible and items from the menus could be selected, but the menus were not visible
2) Sometimes all the windows entirely in all spaces would disappear.
3) When I turned spaces off and on again the would usually reappear.
4) Sometimes when using the keyboard command to switch spaces the desktop background would change
5) When pressing Apple-Tab to switch applications, at first certain programs would not show their icon, but simply a white square, and then the bar of applications would not be visible at all. It was still possible to change between programs, but the icons were not at all visible.
6) I later found out that the problems were minimized if I reduce the number of open applications. The problems occurred when I had about 20 applications open simultaneously. I still had over 700 MB of free RAM, so that was not the problem. When I quit about half of the applications, all the goofy-ness with Spaces stopped.
Is this a bug or is there a reason why I should only be able to have 8 programs open simultaneously? How can I fix this so I can have more programs open?

I have a similar issue with Spaces. Windows just seem to disappear. The menus are available if I click on them in the dash, however the windows are still missing. Sometimes manually assigning them in Spaces will bring them back, but then they just disappear again.
I've seen tons of issues like this with no response or fix.

ITunes display freezes when minimized

Hello,
I posted several months ago about a Vista/Itunes bug, which causes the Itunes screen to freeze up when other screens are opened on top of Itunes. Until recently I have been unable to capture evidence of this freezing, but took this still today. You'll notice that the song information is double-displayed on top of older song information, and the picture displayed is for a song that has already played.

I was rushed when I last posted, so I wanted to add a few more details (and a better picture). When I first installed iTunes on my new Vista laptop in August 2008, I had no problem with the screen freezing up. It wasn't until the first iTunes upgrade that included "genius" that I began having this screen freeze problem (this is why I've included my post in the upgrade section).

In the picture, the song information at the top of the iTunes screen is correct, but the "now playing" image is not. This generally happens when I open another window/screen on top of iTunes, work on the new screen for several minutes, and then close the new screen. The iTunes screen is almost always "frozen" at this point. To unfreeze the screen I just have to click anywhere in the iTunes window, but it is a major annoyance, especially on a new laptop; I've upgraded since then, and all new versions of iTunes have the same problem on my computer. No other program does this.

Mail messages window disappear when searching

I'm using Mail 8.0 on OS X 10.10 (14A389). With French language and localisation. This is something I already noticed in Public Beta.
I have my Sent folder selected (maybe it would happen with another). I start typing something in the search box. Then the whole main messages window disappear immediately. But Mail thinks it's still visible. Even search suggestions continues to show. Typing cmd+0 to hide/show the messages window does not help.
I have to restart Mail to get my messages window back.
This happens randomly. After restarting Mail I can search as usual without the window disappearing. But sometimes later it will happen again.
Anyone encounters this too? Is this known from Apple? Any better temporary workaround than restarting Mail?

It still happens and it really gets boring. I have Mail 8.0 (1990.1). It happens from any folder selected: Inbox, Sent, Smart Inboxes...
How could such a bug remain undetected and not fixed asap? Maybe it's a plot from Apple to get us to ditch Mail and instead buy Unibox, Sparrow or Airmail from the Mac App Store so they get more $$$ commissions?

ITunes window closes when trying to paste metadata via mouse.

For a while now, when I am editing the metadata in my iTunes window, whether it be music, movies etc, if I try to paste information into the appropriate space using the mouse, the window automatically closes without me being able to enter the data. I can paste info via the paste command in the menu just fine. I'm using iTunes 10.6.1. on an iMac running Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Any idea as to what is going one here?

ITunes Stops Importing when Minimized

I am running iTunes 7.3.2.6 w/ Windows Vista. If I navigate away from the iTunes window while importing a CD, the CD stops importing. When I return, it starts importing again. I don't want to have to sit and watch iTunes whenever I'm importing a CD ... anyone have any tips on how to fix this?

What an interesting question, me! I still don't know how to fix my problem, but I am glad to see it has not yet been deleted.

ITunes window disappears but iTunes is still running

When I open iTunes for the first time after starting up the computer, it works fine. But if my computer goes to sleep, when it wakes up, I can't get the main iTunes window to appear. All of the menus still work. Quitting iTunes and re-opening it does not fix the problem.
