ITunes window does not appear

iTunes still appears as an icon in the dock, and the library is intact. Yet when I click to open it, no window appears. At all. The only way I can get any songs to play is by going to the library and clicking on them directly.
Right before this started happening, I did 2 things -- maybe one or both contributed: (A)- I downloaded the latest iTunes, v 9.0.2, and (B) I connected my old iPod, which someone else had been using, with different music (not in my library) on it. I was trying to copy my music back on it, but no icon of it ever appeared, and no music was synced.

Yes I know. However, in Vienna there are just authorized dealers and they are not quiet as competent and helpful as the people in the Apple stores. So I was hoping to get some ideas here.

Appropriate popup window appears when opening iTunes and trying to open some internet-based page there. Entering current AD account credentials helps to connect. What happens if you go to iTunes > File > Devices, do you get the option to Sync iPhone?

First off, I'm using Windows XP (and Mac SnowLeopard) Here's how it started. For some reason my ipod started showing up as a camera when I plugged it in. It works fine in itunes, though. But when I tried to access it from "my computer" it only
showed me the one and only picture I had on my ipod. I deleted that picture hoping it would no longer show up as a camera. When it still did I right-clicked on it in "my computer" and selected "properties". Under "autoplay" I
chose for it to 'not show up' or 'take no action' or some such deal when I plugged it in. I thought that would stop it from popping up the window that asks whether i want to 'open camera wizard' or 'open camera scanning' or 'open folder to view files' or 'take
no action' , etc. But now it won't show up in "my computer" at all. I also have a Mac with SnowLeopard. When I plugged my ipod into it my ipod doesn't show up in "finder" either! So basically my problem is not a mechanical one with hardware
or software; yht ipod still works fine in itunes. I just need to undo the change I made. I've searched all around my preferences, utilities, options, etc. It shows up on my "Device Manager" but not on "Disk Management".

To show up in Windows Explorer, you can try placing the iPod into
disk mode.
Moreover, i recommend you to
restore ipod to factory settings.
If this issue still persists, locate to device manager, uninstall and reinstall USB Mass Storage Device driver.

Quick answer if you use iTunes default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Start iTunes with the option (shift on Windows) key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.

Ok, I have resolved this issue myself. I contacted Apple support but they had no clue.
The resolution is this, bring Siri up and say "radio". Radio comes up and you touch "now playing". Believe it or not the radio icon appears and remains.
I hope that helps other folk.

Itunes Library does not appear to be a valid music library

Ever since downloaded Itunes 5, deleted started again back with 4.9 I have had nothing but problems. All my tunes are stored on an external hard drive.
I have just reloaded all my music and tidied it all up nicely and then when it went to update the ipod this is the message I got :
The file iTunes Library.itl does not appear to be a valid music library file.
iTunes has attempted to recover your music library and renamed this file iTunes 4musiclibrary(damaged)1.itl
PLEASE HELP as this is really cracking me up now.

i'm importing AIFF files into itunes, converting those to AAC and deleting the original AIFF files. i tried to import an album of AIFF's and received a message that i didn't have enough hard drive space to import so itunes would import as many of the files as it could. i knew i'd get to this point and would have to transfer some files onto my hard drive. however, when i clicked okay, the computer froze. i restarted manually and received the following message after attempting to open itunes "the file 'itunes library 2009-12-06' does not appear to be a valid itunes library file. itunes has created a new itunes library and renamed this file to 'itunes library (damaged)'." i'm not sure why this happened and i can't find 'itunes library (damaged)' anywhere. i have all my music still i just can't get itunes back to the way it was. please help! thanks so much.

I'll try and make this as concise as possible. Was following another thread that was "archived" without a solution. I randomly will get the error message 1450 "itunes library does not appear to be a valid itunes library - renamed library damaged." I've done everything and I'm at level 2 with phone support. The fixes we've tried seem to solve the problem momentarily but a few weeks will go by and the problem happens again. I loose all my podcasts and have to reload all music. My daughters have a different user account on the same computer and it happens to them as well. We have tried only loading itunes music files and that doesn't fix the problem either. We've reinstalled many times. I have an internal additional hard drive where I store the music but I've tried installing and saving everything on my original drive and the problem happens that way as well. I've read many threads and those of us with this problem aren't finding any answers. Please Apple or someone help with this. I'm ready to change phones and music players.

Check number confirmation window does not appear and checks become confirmed automatically

We have updated to SAP 9.10.105 PL 00,
and we have two issues with check printing, first when we print check we do not receive a confirmation window and all of the checks show as being confirmed. as soon as be print checks in the payment wizard after the checks have printed we than get an error message.

the second problem is if I set over flow to blank paper, it will only print one check at a time, and i still do not receive a confirmation window.
I am not sure if the original patch for 8.8 was left out of the 9.1 release.

Thanks for this, I found this after posting a message with SAP Support. Just a heads up, they consider it as 'Consulting' function not an 'Application Error' so they will not be a fix. We'll just need to know to make sure users know to un-check this Box.

You might need to press "Shift+Ctrl/Command+F" for Windows/MAC to open Advanced Search Window.

Login Window does not appear

(I am on a different computer) When i turn on my macbook, the apple logo appears, the progress wheel moves, and it switches to the blue screen. Once there the login window does not appear and the mouse pointer shows up and fades soon after. Sometimes a progress wheel displays but it does not change anything. What can I do?

First, try booting the Mac in Safe Mode. To do so, hold down the shift key as you turn it on and continue holding it until you see the spinning gear below the Apple logo. Be patient -- booting in safe mode can sometimes take 10 minutes or longer.
If that does not work, insert the first of the two recovery DVDs that came with your computer and start the Mac while holding down the C key. Once it boots, run Disk Utility and verify both the disk and disk permissions. See if that solves your problem.

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar

ITunes menue completely gray, window does not appear

iTunes 10 does not start appropriately anymore. I just have the menue but it is amlost fully grayed out. I am not able to close iTunes anymore (except killing it)
I have tried the following after some internet research about similar problems:
1) uninstll flip4mac
2) delete library data
3) install osx "new" and update to latest verstion
4) downgrade to iTunes 9 (similar effect here!)
Since iTunes 9 results in the same problems I suppose there is some problem with the operating system, but also here I am not able to find a solution in the web so far.
It is interesting that I am able to play the songs I have listened to lately by opening the context menue from the iTunes logo in the dock.
Does somebody know this problem and has a solution for it?
