ITunes window not aligning to screen size

Ever since the update for iTunes my window is always larger, eather by width when its maximized or by hight when restore down. It requires me to restore down, then move the window so i can see the edges, then reduce the size of the window, then move the window so all of its edges are on the screen and finaly maximize to fit the iTunes window to the screen.
Im running windows 7 @ 1920 by 1080 screen res. The prooblem started ever since the latest update, just wondering if this is because mac is now using the red eye or something screen which is i think just over the 1920x1080.

You likely have Zoom on... double tap with three fingers to turn it off.   Go into Settings > General > Accessibility to disable it.

  • ITunes will not open full screen mode in Mavericks

    Hello,
Ever since a recent upgrade to Mavericks, iTunes will not open in full screen. When I click the full screen expander in the controls or in View>Enter Full Screen iTunes flashes the library and then back to the movie playing and makes the "funk" sound.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

First, open System Preferences > General, and make sure that "Close windows when quitting an application" is marked. Then, open iTunes and press the Esc key to get out of full-screen, and close iTunes. The next time it starts, it should be in a classic window

  • Movies in itune will not display Full screen on macbook?

My itune movies always played full screen when I selected full screen option.
For some reason- today it does not.
When I select the Full screen option - the display goes into Full screen mode, but the video image is small- in the center of the screen. (?)
I'm not sure what has happened. I have not changed any settings. I did install some updates.
    Please help.

I'm having just the reverse effect. I want to see my iTunes movies in the smaller size. It automatically opens in full screen and when I choose the arrows to make it smaller, it stops playing. Let me know if you get any info.

My iTunes window is too big for screen.  I cannot access the shrink control on the lower fight corner of the screen.
Any other ways to shrink the screen to fit?

  • ITunes window not opening

    Hi,
I was putting some music onto a memory stick yesterday and ever since then I haven't been able to open my iTunes window. The files I put on the stick are still on my laptop and when I select them in Finder they play, it's just that when I click on iTunes it doesn't open so I can't view any playlists or my library.
Has anyone else encountered this problem that can help?
    Thanks
    Tom

Best I can suggest is uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes (it will not delete any of your music)
It sounds to me like you might have accidentally removed part of the iTunes application when moving your music, depending on the method you used. A reinstall should just do the trick however I'm sorry it's nothing similar. Again a reinstall will not delete your library.

  • Problems with artwork displaying in iTunes but not on iPod screen

    I have iTunes (7.6) and a 5th gen, 80GB, firmware 1.2.3 iPod.
Not infrequently, I find that a song's artwork is visible in iTunes, but not on the iPod itself. Sometimes the artwork is displayed simply as a black rectangle on the iPod.
The converse situation also sometimes happens - when album info is retrieved from the CDDB, sometimes album artwork is also retrieved - but this is not displayed in the iTunes software, only on the iPod.
And yes, the "Display album artwork on your iPod" checkbox is selected in iTunes.
Does anyone have any more info about this?
Are there any restrictions on image file formats? Maximum size? Type? Interlaced or not?
Last time I asked this question I got zero response
It is an irritating problem, cos there's no way to check what the artwork looks like on the iPod without disconnecting it from my PC :/

OK to drag this thread back on topic:
I think the "sync" thing is irrelevant anyways.
What I tried in the end was viewing my iPod in iTunes,
navigating through to the check box for "display album artwork",
    UNcheck it, and click apply.
At this point, iTunes said, with NO confirmation "Are you sure?" dialog, "DELETING ARTWORK ON iPOD" !! :-O I was not pleased
However I then re-selected the "display album artwork" box and clicked Apply. The process took about 10 minutes to complete.
When I then disconnected the iPod, the black squares were gone, and the artwork was NOT deleted (phew!) and was displaying correctly. I was pleased
The amount of "other" megabytes on the display in iTunes for my iPod's contents had shrunk.
I dunno what all this actually did - are the artwork files embedded in the MP4 files on the iPod? Or are they stored seperately and linked to them?
I'm wondering if the "black square" thing is caused by an MP4 having an embedded image, and there also being a conflicting image file elsewhere on the hard drive? But this is just guessing.

  • Help - iTunes Windows not showing all music

I just discovered this - my iPhone has all my music and albums and artists are all correctly labeled and organized. my Win7 PC is all screwed up.
I'm not sure how/when this happened but at the moment about 700 songs are showing up in itunes without Artist, Album, or Genre info. In some cases, a few songs show up in the Album view and the rest are just missing. The only way I found them is by either viewing by Sony or doing a search. Most albums are still missing if I uncheck Group by Compilations.
All the songs are on my PC. I found them in 2 folders - iTune/iTunesMedia/Music seems to be what is displaying in iTunes. All of the ones missing info are in the Unknown Artist or Compilations folders.  They are in this folder and sub-grouped by Album and in Windows Explorer they still have the correct Album and Artist info showing. The weird thing is most of these are not compilations. I also have another folder /iTunes/Music that seems to have the correct folder structure but I don't think iTunes is using this folder.
I have tried several things. First i tried copying the songs/folders from either the 2nd database or from the Unknown Artist folder in the iTunes/iTunesMedia/Music folder. This did not change anything in iTunes.
I also tried deleting the iTunes library file and starting a new one. This also did not work but when it scans it brings up 2 copies of every song.
I tried manually importing a folder and selecting each album but this did not work, presumably since the songs are already in iTunes but not labelled correctly.
Is there a way to fix this? Remember my iPhone is fine and I do not want to have to manually update the info for each song/album to re-organize it.

any suggestions on how to resolve this?

  • Safari window not filling the screen when launched

I posted this question in the Safari forum and after a week of waiting and numerous bumps, it went unanswered and completely ignored so I thought I'd post it here. Basically what I am trying to do is have the Safari windows automatically fill the screen so that the scroll bar is at the *extreme* right side of the screen, but it always comes just short of that. The reason why this is important is I want to be able to make one quick swipe of my mouse to the right side of the screen and have the cursor end up over the Safari window's scroll bar. But the windows never open up like that, they open up just short of filling the screen so when I move my mouse to the side, it overshoots the scroll bar which is annoying because I have to drag it there manually every time. How do I fix this?

Here is how I want it. Notice the scroll bar with no space to its right.
But here is what it ends up doing. Notice there is now a tiny bit of space to the right of the scroll bar. This tiny space forces me to be careful with the mouse cursor and will not allow me to freely swipe the mouse cursor to the right or it will overshoot the scroll bar. Of course, I can drag the window back to the spot every time I open a new window, but that gets very annoying.

  • Leopard Preview Photos not sharp at screen size

I notice that when you double click a photo in Leopard, the image in Preview is not always sharp. If you expand the image to 100%, then it is sharp.
It was never like this in Tiger.
The image is not being re-sampled correctly to fit the screen.
If you open the same image in IPhoto, then it is sharp at screen size.

Everybody, report preview problems to apple at:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html
My biggest problem in preview 4.0 is it freezes while trying to view large images across four apple LCD's. Sometimes I see a gray screen.

  • Safari save as window opens larger than screen size and I can't get to the

In safari, I choose File -> Save As. The save dialogue window is taller than my screen and the buttons get buried under my bottom toolbar. I can't reach the save buttons and I can't seem to reach the right hand corner to manual resize it. I've tried clicking the green button in the top left hand corner but it doesn't change a thing.
thanks to anyone that can clear this up.

I tried clicking the blue export button so its pointing down and the save dialogue window does shrink. However, the adjustable dashes that normally appear in the bottom right hand corner, are not there. The only appear when the export button is pointing up. Too bad I can't reach it.
Your 2nd idea worked! My display was already at max resolution BUT I had a 2nd monitor and dragged the save box over and the smaller display was enough to reach that bottom corner.
    yeah!

  • ITunes will not exit Full Screen Mode.

It automatically boots into a Full screen desktop, and has no menu bar on top hover. I have hovered and pushed to every corner, no menu drops down. I need to be able to turn off full screen. WIthout a magic mouse or touchpad, I cannot switch out of it easily. This stinks!!

  • My computer's Itunes photos not listed in screen saver.

It was working until I switched folders but since then its not.  I have turned on Home Sharing on both my Apple TV and in iTunes on my computer and selected a valid folder with photos in it.  Both PC and AppleTV are wired to my network router and I tested my connections and they are working.  The computer is on with iTunes running.  Still under Photos in screen saver it list only National Geographic, Flowers, Flixr, iCloud.  no "Computer".  Am I missing something?

Yes all that has been done.
In fact I had it set up and working in the past but soon as I tried to change which folders are shared none show up. I shared the photos, rebooted apple tv and the router... Nothing.

  • 13" MBP:  Maximized Windows Not Utilizing Whole Screen

I have a 2011 13" Macbook Pro.  If I maximize the window of any application (whether by using the green button or by dragging the lower right corner) I'm not able to use the last few pixels at the bottom of the screen.
The Desktop image goes to the bottom of the screen, but windows can not use the last 5-10 (?) pixels of the screen.
Anyone experienced this or know what's going on?
    Thanks.

I see what you are saying.  It looks like about 3 pixels on my 15"
I use RightZoom.app for better control and still see the pixels (desktop) at the bottom. Never really noticed this before,  but rarely do I pull a window all the way to the bottom.
In Firefox shift-command-F  it will capture the entire screen however.

  • HT201335 I am only getting the AirPlay icon when I am in ITunes.  It does not show up when on my Mac when ITunes in not on the screen.  There is no Icon at the top of my computer. How do I fix it?

Can someone tell me how to get the AirPlay Icon on the toolbar at the top of my screen?  It only shows up when I am in Itunes.

The airplay icon you are reffering to is for mirrorring your desktop.  It is a functionality of Mountain Lion and it seems, based your profile, that you are still using Lion.  Therefore, you will need to purchase and upgrade to 10.8 in order to get this function.
Be sure your iMac is really mid 2011 as it will be the oldest to support the mirrorring function.  Apple TV 2 or later is also required.

  • Scroll arrows in iTunes window not working?

My arrows stopped working today and I can't figure out why. I can grab the slider with the mouse and drag it just fine. And using the arrows outside of iTunes, in the OS for instance, still works. But when I click on the arrows in iTunes, in any of the panels, they don't work. It starts to scroll, just that initial jump, but then stops and will not continue. Can anyone help with this? Seems very strange behavior. I've already rebooted and made sure all software is up to date. Totally perplexed. Thanks.

    I couldn't agree more stcbennett
Fountunatly I downloaded 11 on my laptop to test it and left the iMac with 10.7.
While looking for duplicates I noticed that 11's search tool didn't find things that 10.7 did.
Thanks to turingtest2 fix I got it to show the same results.
    No thanks to Apple.
