Itunes window too large after upgrade!

After upgrading to itunes 8.2, the the itunes window opens so that the bottom of it is below the bottom of my display. I can't get to the "handle" on the bottom corner to make it smaller, and I can't get to any commands on the bottom of the screen (can't add playlists!!) Any suggestions?

Go to System Prefs and change your screen resolution. Resize the window, then change the resolution back.

  • Program windows too large after using migration assistant

This seems like a silly question. I just got my MacBook for Christmas and I used Migration Assistant to transfer everything from my iMac to the MacBook. It worked great except that the sizes of the program windows remained the same as well, and they are too big on this 13" screen for me to access things that are way down on the bottom of the window. I can't get a hold of the corner tab that allows you to resize the window manually because it is off the bottom of the screen. I did try minimizing/moving the task bar from the bottom of the screen, but the windows are still too big. I discovered the problem in iTunes, but I suspect it is universal. I'd appreciate any help you can offer! Thanks.

I was having problems with my photo booth, when i'd open it up i could only see half of the pics that I had already taken. I couldn't delete them or anything. After reading what you wrote it had dawned on me, maybe it could have been the screen resolution. I followed your steps and now I can delete the pics I didn't want & I can also see the full photo booth thingy [:
even thou I didn't ask a question, you answered mine & thank you very much [:

Refer this article to reset Winsock to it's default.  Your PCTools may have inserted LSP.

After reset and restarting windows, you may get a prompt to remap LSP, click no.

  • ITunes will not launch after upgrade--click, bounce bounce, nada

iTunes will not launch after upgrade--rebooted nothing--2 bounce icon
then shut down all and unplugged, restarted--no change, iTunes still will not launch after upgrade
    iTunes current version
    on imac w/10.6.8

    I have the same issue.
Allready uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it, but the same problem occurs.
Icon keeps bouncing, and all that's visible is the first menu-item in the top menu bar, named iTunes. Nothing is clickable though.
The iPhone Configuration Utility doesn't seem to work either, it crashes on uploading an app to my iPhone. I guess it's using some of iTunes' libs or something.
Does anyone know how to get iTunes working again? I'm getting pretty desperate over here...
    Thanks!

  • Running 10.4.11 finder window too large need to get lbak to default.

running 10.4.11 finder window too large need to get lbak to default.

    Hi again BDA...
I'm not certain if it will work on other windows. I am more concerned with it working with the Firefox interface and did not try it on an alternate window.
On Sep 4, 2012 2:47 PM    (in response to Alexander_Apple) you said:
"Firefox uses it own settings & Method for that"
That does make sense which is why I asked if any of the Mac gurus know where in Firefox I go to change the setting. I wasn't really keen on adding another 3rd-party app to my machine. There must be a simpler route to take. Maybe change a preference in Firefox 3.6.28 or in the Displays Preferences? My display is a Samsung LED monitor Model NO. SMBX2235. My Displays Preferences are: "1920 x 1080 @ 60 HZ (NTSC) Millions" but, having not changed them since first setting up the monitor, I'm fairly certain it's not the Displays Preferences. Is there a chance I hit a Function key plus a letter or number one day when typing? I don't recall doing so.
Thanks for all  your suggestions BDA. I find  it's a bit confusing when you type the word "Windows" with an uppercase "W". Windows to me is something used on an IBM compatible computer. I, personally, do not consider one computer to be better than another. They each have their own advantages and disadvantages and  each type of machine can handle certain apps better than the other machine.
Thanks again BDA. I hope you have a great day!

  • ITunes doesn't work after upgrade to iOS 6

iTunes doesn't work after upgrade to iOS 6. The white screen with gray tape above appears, and nothing more happens. Reinstalling/restoring iOS doesn't help. I have contacted support team in my country (Russia) by phone, but they could not solve the problem. Is there downgrade to iOS 5.1.1 available?

What printer are you using?  Is it listed here:

  • I Tunes for WIndows wont start after upgrade to 8.0.1

I recently upgraded to iTunes 8.0.1.11. After upgrade, if for some reason I need to reboot my computer iTunes will not start. It took forever to finally figure out what it was. I couldn't sync my iPod, could not get on to iTunes , etc. I finally had to try to uninstall Bonjour to make it come up. The problem is that I can never fully uninstall Bonjour. It says I do not have sufficient privileges. It will be ok until I have to reboot again or turn off my computer. I then have to try to uninstall bonjour to make it come up again. Is there a fix for this bug so I don't have to go through the same procedure every time I reboot?

As far as the sufficient privileges go.
You may wish to temporarily disable User Access Control (UAC)
This should then give you permission to complete the uninstall process like you have been doing. Also ensure you are an Administrator user on the account. That right away will cause the message to appear if you are not.
You want to ensure this gets turned back on if you do not have adequate security protection such as
    -Firewall Software
    -Anti Virus Software
    -Spyware/Adaware Software
To Turn UAC off in the easiest way possible
    -Launch Control Panel
    -Launch User Accounts
In this Window you will see an option called "Turn User Access Control ON/OFF" Click on this. A simple pop up window will appear. If it has a check mark in the box. Un-check it. Reboot. UAC is now off.
Windows security will notify you of this. Feel free to ignore it while you try to uninstall again. Repeat the steps above to turn it back on when you are ready.
By any chance have you tried a Basic Uninstall of Apple Software? and then Run the iTunes Setup file in Administrator Mode?

  • ITunes won't sync (after "upgrading" to Lion because my four year old macBook can't use Mtn. Lion) With a little ranting sprinkled in.

I hope someone out there has the expertise to tell me what I am doing wrong. I expect a learning curve from a new Mac operating system, but I don't expect weeks of problem solving and glitches. Lion...well, they won't let me use that word.
Since I "upgraded" to Lion, when I hit "sync" in iTunes on the computer, I get one of three things:  1. Nothing happens, or:  2. A message appears that there is not sufficient room on the Nano for the changes, which is not true, or:  3. It syncs down to next to nothing on the Nano and I have to hit revert.
Sometimes I'm confronted with a screen that wants me to check or uncheck each and every album (but not songs) that I want synced. I have already kept up to date a more specific and complete list of the same sort elsewhere in iTunes: the "Music" list in my itunes "Library." Today I unchecked some songs and checked some others expecting to easily have the corresponding changes made on my iPod, as I have for years.  This is the list that I have refined over the years based on new music acquired, my changing tastes, and room left on the iPod.  Am I really expected to duplicate this process on another list only to end up with no options for individual songs I do, or do not, want synced? What is the purpose of this exercise?
I finally got it to upgrade to iTunes 10.6.3.  I was repeatedly getting a message in iTunes that there was an upgrade available. I would hit upgrade within that mesage in iTunes.  It would go through the process of checking for new software and then tell me my software was up to date. (I was running iTunes 10.6 (40).) Software update also told me my software was up to date. I had to go to the Apple site to find and download and install iTunes 10.6.3. The change made no difference to the above problem. I'm not used to screw-ups like this from Apple.
I can't think of a single change in Lion that I like. Not one. I hate the new calendar. I hate the new Safari, and I hate the new Mail. I hate the combination of Google search and the address bar.  I hate the way hiting a hot link in Mail opens a new tab in Safari instead of a new window. And the number of hassles and fixes and problems to be solved in the move from Snow Leopard to Lion has been like nothing I have experienced before on a Mac.
An iMac and a laptop are not iOS devices. And iPads and iPhones are not laptops or desktops. To try to merge the operating systems is a major error in my opinion. Thanks for putting up with my rant. I never expected to be so frustrated by a Mac "upgrade."  And I've been using Macs a log time. Any advise would be apreaciated.
    "Shinwell Johnson"

In lieu of relaxing on Sunday, I've been working on this.
I tried launching Thunderbird (TB) in TB's "Safe Mode".  This launches TB like it's being used for the first time - and it didn't crash, which got me hopeful.
So I deleted the TB profile folder and the TB preference file from the ~/Library folder.  Then I manually copied them over from my old Mac to my new Mac - figuring that maybe something got damaged by Migration Assistant.  After I installed all of the TB files and folders into the right places in my ~/Library folder, I rebooted the Mac (just to be safe) and tried to launch TB - and it crashed upon launching, with essentially the same crash log as shown above.
So it looks like there is something in my TB Profile that Lion doesn't like (but that Snow Leopard was fine with).
Any suggestions for how to find and fix/remove the offending item?  Is there something I could search for in the crash log that would point me to the offending item?

  • Itunes will not open after upgrade

After upgrading to the latest version of itunes and quicktime it will not open (no error message given). If i log off as administrator and log on as another user it will open. is there a fix for this?

there's a few different things that can cause that on a PC.
perhaps try working through the user-account-specific section of the following document first:

  • ITunes window too long. Cannot resize it.

My iTunes window is too long on my screen. I cannot reach the bottom to shorten it, as it extends below the window border even after raising the window to the top of the screen. How can I shorten the window from below?
    Thank you.

Mountain Lion you can now resize windows from all 4 edges and all 4 corners.
Go to the top edge of the iTunes window till you see the down arrow then click drag the top edge of the iTunes window Dow.
Click in the title bar and drag the window up.
    Repeat as necessary.
Or Option click the green button at top left of the iTunes window.

  • Itunes import mp3 twice after upgrade to itunes 8.0.1

My itunes setting is let itunes organizing my mp3 and copy files to the itunes music folder.
After I upgrade to the new 8.0.1, when I add songs to the libary, each mp3 shows up twice and also twice in my music folder.
Is it a bug in the software and anybody experienceing the same thing? Please help.
    Thanks
    Wilson

I noticed the same thing! It's got to be a 8.0.1 bug, it didn't happen in v8.0. Really painful for me too. I don't let iTunes organise my music either and when I add music I want to be able to click on my parent music folder and only get any new music added.
I've had to restore an old iTunes library and return to version 8.0, and I've lost a weeks worth of playlist updates too, not happy.

  • FF window too large when using extended desktop. Must reboot to return to correct size when I return it to the main screen.

I watch on-line videos on my HDTV by using "extended desktop" and sliding the FF window to the HDTV. The window becomes too large to access the controls to size it, or the top bar, to move it.
I can move FF window back to my pc by minimizing it on the pc toolbar, but when I "restore" it, it restores to the HDTV. I can not move it back to the pc, I also cannot re-size the screen

Hello.  Thank you all for giving my some advise but I do not understand any of it.
I'm a bit of a technophobe when it comes to computers.
It is a Sony Vaio and there is a model number on the base of the laptop PCG-71911M.  I have tried to look in the Control Panel to see if I can find its specifications but these days the system is too complicated for me to understand.
I did try seek out the information on the internet but just get a French site. Doh!!!
I use Nikon View NX software when I am viewing my images and again if I go to full screen for viewing the image the taskbar 'occludes' the little arrows I use to view the next image. When this happens I just click the little box in the far right edge of the taskbar and ViewNX 'disappears'.  When I go back in and click on 'show desktop' it clears the taskbar. I can then easily access the buttons to move forward.  Also when I am using PSE8 I have the same problem with accessing the buttons after I have completed my raw adjustments in the ACR window but it allows me to press the buttons with great difficulty if I can 'catch' the edge of the button and the ACR goes into PSE8 properly.  I'm sorry that I have not explained myself well. At the present it looks as if the ACR window is too 'large' for the PSC5 window it 'sits upon'. It seems that it does not want to 'sit over' the taskbar. I have eventually fathomed that I can use Cntl and O to open the image (Open Image button) but this is not the least bit satisfactory.  I don't know how I am going to access the other options eg 'done' and 'cancel' and 'save image'.
Thank you all once again and any help - but idiots' language please - would be gratefully accepted.
    Jacqueline.

  • ITunes won't start after upgrade--error message

When I launched iTunes after upgrading to 6.0.1, I got the following message after agreeing to the usual legal terms:
"The folder "iTunes" cannot be found or created, and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the "Music" folder."
    Any suggestions?

    Jeff,
Thank you for the reply and your suggestions.
Yes, I did take a look in the Music folder--and no, the file was not there. I then used Spotlight and did find an iTunes Music folder, but when I tried to copy it to the Music folder I got error message -36, saying that parts of the file weren't readable and, therefore, not copyable.
I also used my disk utility to repair permissions and re started the computer---with the same results.
I'm not sure what else to try and may take my computer to my local expert.
    best,
    als
