ITunes Windows and sharing OSX library in bootcamp using MacDrive

Hi,
Has anybody been able to load iTunes on their Windows partition and, using MacDrive, share the iTunes library on the OSX partition or hardrive?

okay, let's start from the beginning
what you want to see in iTunes is this (view from my MBP's iTunes seeing the library on my Mini)
if the icon looks like this , home sharing has not been set up correctly.
in order for home sharing to work
(a) iTunes on all machines must be authorized for the same iTunes store account
(b) all machines must be on the same network
(c) all machines must have access to the internet.
are the above points a given on your end ?

Okay... I've just found the solution. It's really simple, just plug the phone to the MacBook, fire up iTunes, check the "Sync Photos from iPhoto" option, make sure all the other options are not checked, and just sync. Voila! my iPhoto library is now in the palm of my hand.

Downloads to iPhone gone after sync with iTunes 9 and shared libraries

I have songs that I downloaded directly to my iPhone 3g-s. After the first time I synched the iPhone to my laptop after installing iTunes 9 and sharing songs with my desktop, songs have disappeared from my iPhone. When I search the song, the title is there but when I click the song, it says to purchase the song from iTunes. The songs are on neither of the 2 computers sharing songs. However, only some of the songs that I had downloaded directly to the iPhone from iTunes have disappeared.

I read another post here and the solution is simple: goto file and select 'Transfer Purchases from iPod". It works perfectly!

Uninstall windows and reinstall OSX

I have a macbook air 11 inch 2011 .While installing windows 8 the vendor did some mistake and removed OSX. Now the only disc vol is windows and is not working properly.Takes time to boot and keyboard controls are not working. I want to remove windows and reinstall osx .Pl help me

Reboot holding down command+option+r
Choose disk utility, select your physical HD on the left and erase as Mac journaled partition
Exit DU, then choose install OSX to this drive

i am try to identify the right development framework and technology for developing GUI application which can run on windows and mac osx.
i am sure that there will be specific handling for both of these os, but at the same time there could lot of code can be same.
is it possible to fulfill requirements of both these OS's through single code base. As of now i am more experienced with Dotnet C# on windows.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Changing devices is no reason to create a new Apple ID.
All content purchased from iTunes is permanently linked to the Apple ID it was purchased with.
To update apps purchased with the old ID, you MUST sign in with that Apple ID.

What it's telling you is correct. Gift cards are valid only in the country in which the card was issued. You cannot use an iTunes card issued in the UK in a US iTunes Store account. Give or sell the card to someone who can use it in the UK.

Labview closing intermediate windows and verifying if library exists

Hi,
I have 2 questions.
1)I have an application file.First I see my main window and then I can press a button and
another window opens.After the second window finishes the extenuation I can still it .Can I pragmatically define that every intermediate will be closed
after execution?
2)Is there any function in Labview that checks if a certain library exists in my computer?
I couldn't find such function.

Hi Leonid,
1. If the intermediate windows you are referring to are subVIs called by your main VI then you can programmatically get the front panels of the subVIs to close by writing a true constant to the Close After Call VI Property node.
2. I am not aware of a single function that checks to see if a library exists, but here is a link to some documentation about how LabVIEW searches for a library when it is called:

The first related link at the bottom of this article (LabVIEW 2011 Help: Specifying the Locations of Shared Libraries on Disk) includes a section about how LabVIEW locates missing shared libraries. You might be able to use part of this process to find a particular library.

ITunes 6 and Music Store Library Browser

Did the upgrade to iTunes 6. So far so good until I accessed the Music Store. When I try to browse the Music Store using the library I get "Could not complete the Music Store request. the store may be busy. Check your internet connection and try again".
So, whats gone wrong with this then???

I upgraded to Version 6.0.1.3 a month or so ago. This is still the latest version as of today, 12/4/2005. Everything was fine until I upgraded from a dial-up ISP service to Comcast broadband.
Now I am getting the same error the you described and am completely unable to use the iTunes Music store.
Everything else on my PC works 100% fine with the upgrade. With iTunes, however I'm getting the message:
"Could not complete the Music Store Request. The store may be busy. Check your internet connection or try again later."
I purchased the AppleCare Protection Plan for iPod with the thought that Apple support would be able to offer some assistance with problems such as this.
The support technician asked me to uninstall and re-install iTunes. This was not successful. He then said that that was all the assistance he could provide and suggested that I send an e-mail to iTunes Music Store support! What a joke. Is this the best support Apple can provide throught the AppleCare Protection Plan?
Today, I heard back from iTunes support. They merely sent me a link to their website and said that going through the steps outlined there should solve the problem. I had already tried these steps unsuccessfully including the following:
1) "Your copy of the iTunes application may be out of date." Check that the version is the most current: Yes, installed version is 6.0.1.3.
2) "You may need to reset your keychain." I am using a Windows 2000 SP4 system so this does not apply.
3) "You upgraded to Windows XP Service Pack 2." I am running Windows 2000, with Service Pack 4. There is no firewall included in this release of Windows, and I have no 3rd party firewall installed.
4) "You upgraded to a high-speed or wireless Internet connection." Recently I switched from a dial-up ISP to Comcast broadband access. I have no firewall software installed on my PC. I am also not using a router with this
system that could include a firewall. Symantec anti-virus, is running on this machine. It has been installed for over a year and I have had no problem connecting to the iTunes Music store with it running.
5) "You switched to a new ISP." I contacted Comcast technical support. It is their policy NOT to block any ports. I also use the same cable modem with my laptop from work to run database and software development tools that require ports not to be blocked and have had no problems. Therefore I believe their statement is true.
From what I'm hearing on this board, this is a common problem that Apple has not addressed. If anyone has any hotfixes for this iTunes defect, please let me know.

ITunes Match and shared accounts?

I'm a bit confused as to how iTunes Match works. Let's say Bob and Susan, a married couple, share an AppleID for iTunes purchases and have separate AppleIDs for iCloud. They both manage their iTunes libraries on separate iTunes installations on separate computers, and Bob wants to use Match to sync his library to his second computer, without making all of his wife's purchased music appear as well. Does he use iTunes Match with his iCloud account? Does it take all the music from his library but not other purchased music and make it available to him via his iCloud account even though he purchased it using a different account? Thanks.

You can only use one Apple ID for iTunes match. You can have a separate Apple id for icloud.
If all purchases and match subscription use same Apple ID, you can match each library but the content and playlists will be same on all devices. Each person will have access to all music.

When i now had recieve a brand new 27" imac, i had a 3 year old model 27" imac which my daugter want to have BUT i should be as a clean Windows thing -
so how to change the computer to a clean windows 8 computer with no apple programs in and no Maverick or other lovely programs?
I had seen on the net that a lot of peoble had windows with bootcamp - i am not a computer tecnician and when i try - i end op with a machine with could nothing - no mac programs - no office pack - no adobe programs - so i had to start op again with a new harddisk.
Some of the problem is that i dont understand the thing which bin told when you go to bootcamp for a user of mac's since the model was the "classic" and we make newspapers on them - so i want and easy way to have and mac computer for my self (the new one) and let my daugter have a beutiful imac with windows on.
dont begin talking about parrelles i had try that, results it had a windows 7 which cant be updated, apple dont support that and microsoft doesnt so - help me

If you don't want Boot Camp and you don't want a virtual machine, go buy a Windows computer.
Both Boot Camped Windows and Windows running in a virtual machine work well. Your issues are because of your lack of knowledge or understanding, not because Boot Camp and virtual machines are poor products. Universities, large and small businesses, home users, etc. use virtual machines to run their operating systems.
Your statements about Boot Camp and Parallels are not the experience of thousands of users.
Either find someone who is knowledgeable about running Windows on Apple computers to help you or buy a Windows computer. Believe me, if you find a way to install only Windows on your Apple computer without using Boot Camp or a virtual machine you will have more problems than what you have already experienced.

I was listening to a station on iTunes radio and now my library is empty. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

I was done listening so I closed iTunes and eventually I shut off my computer. But the next time I turned it on and opened iTunes my entire library was empty, and the playlists were set to the system default. I tried doing a system restore to my laptop but that didn't change anything. I'm really hoping there's a way to fix this without reloading my entire library song by song, or (and this is the absolute last resort) contacting Apple. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would greatly appreciate any help!

I am considering nuking the current iTunes on the second computer and re-installing, giving myself a clean slate to work with. Is this the right way to go?
