ITunes/Windows - Unknown synchronisation failure

When synchronisation is being done with my Outlook Agenda there is an unknown (-50) failure. Contacts is no problem, but Agenda is refusing due to above error #. Someone any idea ?

Although I can understand your frustration, I feel the need to point out that this is a user-to-user forum. It is, perhaps, not the most effective way to contact Apple. I would suggest the iTunes feedback menu option.

    I am using windows vista home premium. In iTunes when I maximize the iTunes window, it doesn't fit the screen, it is a little too big and I cannot see the side scroll bar.     Have you checked the HP Website and Microsoft Support websites to see if they have any solutions to your problem? Since there could be multiple things causing this, I would check at the places I mentioned first and see if their knowledge base contains an answer.

    In an aimlessly ill-informed effort to troubleshoot the "Please install Apple Application Support" ERROR Message reported subsequent to my numerous attempts to "repair/install" the most recent and otherwise previously up-to-date versions of Apple QuickTime & iTunes on my HP Pavilion dv4 Entertainment Notebook PC, running on the Windows 7 (64-bit) OS... I mistakenly (perhaps?) thought it wise to attempt to execute a complete uninstall/reinstall of both QuickTime & iTunes. Oops... YIKES !!
    Somewhere along the knotty entangled threads of my most circuitous web-research, as I browsed for information and instructional resources regarding proper procedure for (re)-installing Apple Application Support (amongst other peripheral software programs provided by Apple, Inc. as integral technical components essential to seamless & successful installation, application and operation of the most current/up-to-date versions of Apple QuickTime & Apple iTunes), I seem to recall reading explicit suggestions from well-rated community support contributors to proceed with the aforementioned course of action...
    Unfortunately, now that I no longer have either Apple QuickTime or iTunes currently installed on my Win7OS HP Pavilion Notebook PC, I continue consistently to fail at initializing either a functional download or installation solely of iTunes 10.6 -- so far!!
    When I link to the Apple iTunes 10.6 Download URL (listed herein, above!) and click the (blue) DOWNLOAD NOW Button located near mid-center of the left-sidebar in the presumably appropriate/correct browser tab window (fully framed and immediately visible in maximized view, on my screen), what seems then to occur is pretty much what one could only image/explain &/or describe as "zip/zilch, nothing/nada, absolute silence, stillness: a blatantly obvious failure to initiate functional download of anything at all, whatsoever...!!"
    Not a single hint of code or even a mere bleep/beep/blink/blip in my Win7OS or HP Pavilion Monitor Display appears before for me; ultimately, suggesting without any real certainty whatsoever that a download of the iTunes 10.6 Software Installation Package has perhaps initialized, successfully...!!?
    WHAT TO DO? What to do? ...ARGGHHH !!

    when trying to restore back up on my wifes new phone an error occured (itunes an unknown error occured (-42110)). I did not have any problem when restoring backup on my new phone. How can I fix this. any recomended software fix.
    I am hoping that the back up (all pictures and contacts is still backed up on my pc because I screwed up and set the old phone to factory settings and lost all info in the phone.

    We have about 30 universes in 3.1 SP2 and I am having probelm exporting 2 of them to a .biar file.  I get the Unknown export failure message in the Export View Log window.  I am able to export all of the other universes, including the corresponding Test universes that created the problem ones (copy through export in Designer) and direct copies of the problem ones (copied to new folder).

    When I sync my iPhone with iTunes (Windows), the artist names are not being copied properly. For example, the artist which I label "Lambert, Adam" on my computer keeps showing up as "Adam Lambert" on my iPhone. I have changed ALL the sorting tags on iTunes (Windows) so the "artist," "artist: sort as," "album artist," "album artist: sort as," "composer," and "composer: sort as" are all showing "Lambert, Adam." But my iPhone is insisting on overriding that and using the sorting that one would find in the iTunes store. I have all sharing turned off and iCloud sync turned off. The problem is occurring with albums that I originally purchased on iTunes (Windows).

    Recent builds of iTunes can fetch details of your purchase history so you can download or stream the content to your device. For reasons unknown the store version of the metadata is sometimes displayed instead of any local edits that you may have made.
    To fix, go to iTunes > Preferences > Store and turn off
    Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases
    Share details about your library with Apple
    On any iOS device go to Settings > Music and turn off
    Show All Music
    Close and reopen iTunes and/or reset the device and you should see your version of the metadata for each track rather than the original store data. If not the original values should revert as you play content, or you can try my script UpdateTagInfo for updating iTunes. In some cases you may need to remove the affected content from your device, then sync it back again.

  • I am trying to set up Sharing amongst several computers on my home network.  I have followed all the setup instructions but after completion Sharing does not appear in my iTunes window (on any of the computers I've set up).  There is no explanation why.

    I have been trying to set up Sharing between two computers on my network. I did this once and it worked.  However, when I try to set this up now the Sharing feature does not appear on the left side of the iTunes window (on either computer).  There is no explanation as to why not.  Is this a configuration problem, a network problem or what?   Can it be fixed?  I have tried turning sharing off and back on on both computers but to no avail.  What am I missing?  Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
    If, while searching through your past purchases, items are unavailable to download and show a "Purchased" button, they are still on your computer. It may be best to search your iTunes library by clicking Music, then use the search bar at the top right.
    If you are completely sure the items are no longer in your library, try signing out of the iTunes Store, and then back in.

    I agree. I don't rely on iCloud as a backup, that is what I have my portable hard drive for. Its 500 GB so I can hold my entire iTunes library several times over on it. I have all my movies on my hard drive, but somehow "The Mist" got deleted off of my hard drive, so I figured "Well, the option to redownload an already purchased movie is available through iCloud, I'll just do that!"
    And permissions and download availability have nothing to do with it, the movie's still there, it still allows me to redownload it. The only problem is when I click download, I get that message.
    And nobody else uses my computer, but I do have multiple accounts authorized on it. Even still though, I am attepmpting to download it through the account I purchased it under. :/

    Had issues upon updating iTunes to newest version (11).
    The display settings were not working, I tried to run it in compatibility mode for Windows 7 Service Pack 2, which i'm currently running.
    Still had major issues, couldn't click anywhere on the iTunes window, the only thing I could click was file but even then the dropdown menu wasn't working correctly.
    I tried several times to adjust my computers' settings to accomodate the new version, and still nothing worked.
    I got fed up, and uninstalled the lastest version and now I am having trouble reinstalling.
    I tried the latest version a few more times, and now when I click download on the site link, it doesn't even prompt the download window in Mozilla.
    It doesn't create a location anywhere within my computer either.
    I downloaded 10.7 in hopes of that maybe working, I figured because I haven't updated the iOS on my phone, and my computer is still a little behind that this might help, but it says,
    "itunes library.itl cannot be read" and something to do with having a new version of the file already.
    I just want to have some version of itunes on here, I still have Bonjour, though I think with the issues I am having the Software update must be gone along with any itunes program I previously had.
    I cannot restore any previous versions because I haven't backed it up on to anything for quite some time.
    I just want to manage my iPhone 4 again, and this is driving me nuts.

    The Problem is resolved by :
    Click on the "Start" button. Click "Run." Type the word "cmd" in the open box. When the DOS screen comes up, type "netsh winsock reset." Press "Enter." Type "exit" to close the DOS window and go back to Windows.
    Restart the computer.
