Itunes Windows working no sound.

Itunes visually shows it is playing a song; just no audio can be heard.
It's a new win core2duo machine XPProSp2b.
I have a RME fireface 800 unit. I would like to assign Itunes to play out of. It's a brand new install. Latest download of Itunes for Window from the Apple site as of today. Oct. 10, 2006.
I know the RME Fireface is working; as I can use and hear it with the Ableton Live audio program. Ableton has a preferences file which lets me choose the Fireface outputs.
I don't see Itunes as having in the preference menu as having a way to choose an audio output.
Choosing in the Windows Control panel the Fireface outputs and hitting apply and OK. Doesn't seem to make no difference.
Someone??

I have the same problem. I found that this helps the ability to play songs through iTunes. Close iTunes 7.0, open QuickTime, select preferences and change the size to 16 bit, click OK, open iTunes and you should hear music again albeit not as dynamic as 24 bit.
It appears that the application design project team at Apple shoved the new application to meet an internal deadline that coincided with the new iPod line up and didn’t take quality or customer satisfaction into account. And naturally there is no way to contact Apple directly.
I would suggest that if Apple does not fix this ASAP, we should revert to Real Player to play music and download content. The only way Apple will listen if we hit them in the pocketbook. Refuse to use iTunes and download should make them listen.
Apple = White Windows.
Have a great day!

  • ITunes 7 won't install on windows 2000 (network error) but iTunes 6 works

Hi, I hope someone can help me with this. I have been trying for almost a week to download the "Idol gives back" videos but I'm not able to with iTunes 6. Says I have to upgrade...sounds easy enough, so I download Itunes 7. I already have the latest quicktime installed and it works fine. The setup for iTunes 7, however, will not work. I get this exact message:
Could not access network location iTunes\.
I read in another forum that editing some registry keys would help but that didn't work. What does this error mean? And why won't iTunes 7 work with Windows 2000 whenever iTunes 6 works perfectly? This is very frustrating, all I want to do is download the Idol gives back videos to help out the children's charities. I never thought they would make it so difficult. I know I can't be the only one with iTunes 7 issues. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

that's normal. a number of the error messages that displayed with a number in 6.0.x and earlier versions of iTunes (like the 1606, the 1316 and certain species of the 1402) no longer get the number showing up with the error message with the 7.x installers. (it seems to have been part and parcel of the change away from basing the installers on InstallShield technology.)
okay, let's try the general advice from the following document to see if that can help:
Trouble installing iTunes or QuickTime software in Windows

If the AX is working properly, it should not show up in your list of available networks (since it is "joined" to your router). Have you unplugged and replugged your AX? Unplugged and, after a minute, replugged your router? Do you have MAC address filtering enabled on your router? (if so, disable it to see if the AX works ... it will broadcast its MAC address to the router, and you can add it.) Is your firewall turned on? Turn it off and see if you can access Airtunes. You will have to open a port in your firewall if that is the case.
The AX should have the same network name as your router the wireless tab. When it shows up, what name is it broadcasting?

  • ITunes stopped working. Error 7 (Windows 127)

    Suddenly iTunes stopped working.
At first my HP Pavillion showed the message "Error 7 (Windows 127)". I googled it, and found  a couple of suggestions. I tried to uninstall iTunes and related program files in the right order, but it didn't work.
Now I get this message, and it doesn't help to uninstall iTunes. I allready tried it several times.
After googling the message above, I tried to open the iTunes setup file with winRAR, but that didn't work either.
    Now I get this message:
Something about the procedure point of entry ADAdPolicy... is not found in the DLL-library.
When I click 'OK' I get the same message, as I did to begin with "Error 7 (Windows 127)".
    What am I doing wrong?
I've spend more than 10 hours total, solving this problem, so if anyone can help me, there'll be best wishes and happy thoughts send your way

    Hi @TroelsDanmark ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read about your HP Pavilion Notebook and not being able to use ITunes. Can get to safe mode with command prompt?  sfc /scannow would scan your system for errors at the command prompt.
Are you downloading ITunes 12.0.1 for Windows ? Current download available here.
Do you have 400MB of available disk space to accommodate the download?
First, try to click the Windows icon, type services in the Search box, and then click or tap View Local Services. Scroll down to the Windows Installer. Startup type should be - Automatic, and Service Status should be - started
Restart the computer after this step and try installing again.
You could try this Microsoft fix.
Please let me know how this goes.
    Thanks.

  • I attempted to update itunes (Windows 7) it didn't work, after several tries I uninstalled itunes completely, and now I cannot get it to reinstall correctly. help?

Had issues upon updating iTunes to newest version (11).
The display settings were not working, I tried to run it in compatibility mode for Windows 7 Service Pack 2, which i'm currently running.
Still had major issues, couldn't click anywhere on the iTunes window, the only thing I could click was file but even then the dropdown menu wasn't working correctly.
I tried several times to adjust my computers' settings to accomodate the new version, and still nothing worked.
I got fed up, and uninstalled the lastest version and now I am having trouble reinstalling.
I tried the latest version a few more times, and now when I click download on the site link, it doesn't even prompt the download window in Mozilla.
It doesn't create a location anywhere within my computer either.
I downloaded 10.7 in hopes of that maybe working, I figured because I haven't updated the iOS on my phone, and my computer is still a little behind that this might help, but it says,
"itunes library.itl cannot be read" and something to do with having a new version of the file already.
I just want to have some version of itunes on here, I still have Bonjour, though I think with the issues I am having the Software update must be gone along with any itunes program I previously had.
I cannot restore any previous versions because I haven't backed it up on to anything for quite some time.
I just want to manage my iPhone 4 again, and this is driving me nuts.
    Any help is very appreciated,
    thanks for reading.

The Problem is resolved by :
Click on the "Start" button. Click "Run." Type the word "cmd" in the open box. When the DOS screen comes up, type "netsh winsock reset." Press "Enter." Type "exit" to close the DOS window and go back to Windows.
    Restart the computer.
    Thanks to my friend Sunil.

  • I can't subscribe to Match on Win 7 with iTunes 10.6.3.25. When Apple ID auth window comes up iTunes crashes with "iTunes stopped working" and iTunes closes.

On Windows 7 with iTunes 10.6.3.25 I cannot subscribe to iTunes Match. In iTunes I click on iTunes Match in the left pane then click the "Subscribe for $25 a year" button. A window that looks like I am going to be asked to login using my Apple ID and password starts to come up but then an error occurs and I get a window that says "iTunes stopped working" then iTunes closes. What can I do ?

I've also read somewhere about using Win Rar to extract files to do with apple mobile device support from the itunes installer file, would you recommend that to? I don't really fancy the idea of doing anything that involves my registry because knowing me I'll end up screwing my laptop up for good lol
It's a little more involved than just doing a standalone AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi install, I'm afraid. The relevant drivers in AMDS are not digitally signed for 64-bit XP, so you have to force XP to accept a driver install that it would try its damnedest to not do. There's no driver issues for other 64-bit componentry in the installer package (I think the GEAR drivers install on XP 64-bit systems), but I believe there's still a bit of fancy footwork involved in getting them installed too ... although it's been a long time since I've looked at an instruction set, and I might not be recalling those things correctly. (So if you're not comfortable with system modifications, it might be best to steer clear of the Orca-based techniques ...)

  • Will itunes 11 work with windows xp, I have ended up with this neqw version and it doesn't work , I can look at my library ,but not play and since synching my ipod it is now empty. Apple support is useless, they treat me like I'm on a Mac not a PC .

will itunes 11 work with windows xp , I have ended up with this new version after accepting an update and now although I can view my library I can't play anything and since synching my ipod it is empty. Apple support can't seem to get it's head around the fact I'm on a PC keeps asking for an apple serial number, Help!!!

  • Itunes stops working in windows 7

Everytime I try to open itunes, windows says it has stopped wotrking and is checking for a solution to the problem but it never comes up with one and then itunes shuts down. I have tried to reinstall and still the same problem.

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 n above) - START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • "itunes has stopped working" when closing itunes Windows Vista

Since November 2007, when I close itunes, I get Windows Vista error "itunes has stopped working" This got worse when it corrupted the itunes library itl file. I deinstalled QT and itunes version 7.5, and went back to version 7.4.3.1 - but the problem persists.
I believe this problem started with the install of version 7.5
Below is the crash information from Vista:

I am running Windows 8.1 and iTunes 11.1.3.8.  I found a simple solution by browsing through the support communities.  Here it is:   Copy QTMovieWin.dll from:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support to: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
This worked for me.  Good luck.
