ITunes with Digital Booklets

I've recently purchased some music albums from iTunes and have downloaded the Interactive booklet for the album. It's seems to be associated to Quicktime and normally has a .MOV extension. When I double click on it it runs quicktime but nothing happens - well the slider bar runs for 5 - 6 secs but no visuals. How can I view the contents am I missing something here ?
Thanks in advance.

Hi!
Thank you, Peter!
I created a PDF with my scanner software and Acrobat Pro like I always did an tried to import this PDF into iTunes on two ways: First by simply dragging it to the iTunes window (which was no problem before I updated to 12.0.1) and then I tried via the file-menu "Add to mediathek..." (which is Key cmd-O).
I'm using the german version of iTunes - please excuse, if the translation of the menu item is not correct! The german version ist "Ablage -> "Zur Mediathek hinzufügen..."!
Is it possible, that the booklet is shown on some place that i don't find?

Your iTunes Digital Booklet should appear on the PDF shelf in iBooks.

  • Unable to open new itunes album digital booklet

I just downloaded a new album in itunes that came with a digital booklet, but I can't open it on my mac pro in either Adobe or Preview, from itunes or from explorer. Doing so prompts an error msg saying the pdf is not a supported file type or has been damaged.

    Try the following:
Right click on the booklet and click "get info" → go to "options" tab → on the drop down menu "Media Kind" switch from "Music" to "Book".
I contacted apple support to deal with this, but unfortunately on my side, this option was grayed out. Maybe yours will be different.
They escalated my case to level 2 support. If i receive a response, i'll let you know all how it was resolved.
    Good luck!

  • Using Itunes with Digital 5.1 Sound

    Hi,
I have a 5.1 surround system, and 5.1 sound card. sound is delivered via DIGITAL DIN.
Question is - in dolby pro logic its alright because voice comes out of centre speaker and instrumental from the surround.
But the bass isn't all that good, and quality could be better.
My question is, is there a way to deliver sound to my centre speaker when using the "5.1 DIN" selection on my system (its creative inspire 5700 btw). When in this option, surround sound is better and so is bass, but i have no centre speaker.
I have set quicktime to 5.1 in Quicktime (control panel) but no difference?

  • ITunes with digital media pro keyboard

Is there a way to assign the hotkeys on the Windows Media Pro keyboard? The play/pause doesn't work and next track skips 2 tracks, instead of going to the next track.

Perhaps try updating the keyboard driver?

  • Problems with importing digital booklets in iTunes 12

    Hi there!
I'm using several Macs, all with iTunes 12.0.1 and I have the same problem on all computers: I can't import PDFs as digital booklets for my albums anymore!
There's no problem with digital booklets that come with purchases on the iTunes-Store. But if I import a CD into my iTunes and scan the booklet as an a PDF (as I always did in the last years), I can't import the PDF to my mediathek anymore! It will not be shown in my iTunes.
Does someone have the same problem and perhaps knows a solution for this? Is this just a bug in the current version of iTunes or has something changed with the handling of importing the digital booklets and I'm just to blind to see?
    Thank you very much!
    Best regards,
    Michael

  • Digital booklet hasn't download with album.

I bought an album today with digital booklet. Info was to get the booklet i have to buy full album. I did but there is any digital booklet. Is there anybody to help me with this problem.

Look at the section "I purchased an album on my iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch that contained a music video and a digital booklet. Where did it go?" here:

  • Digital Booklets for albums no longer handled within iTunes - so annoying!

So, as one of its "improvements" to iTunes, digital booklets are now handled by iBooks.  And they have removed the ability to edit the metadata, so now I have a bunch of booklets in iBooks in no order, and unsearchable.
    1. I can't see why I should want to have another app open to read the booklets assiciated with an album I am listening to.
    2. Why should I not be able to edit the metadata, or create my own booklets from PDF or scans?
    3. If they do change this, am I really going to have to edit the metadata of my 5000 digital booklets inn my iTunes library?
What a pain the the backside!

    I second your emotion!
I have not been an iBook user (and I don't even own an iPhone or iPad), but I am a huge iTunes user (on an iMac). Here are my observations and complaints.
I think this is some sort of mistake or oversight - it makes no sense whatsoever to remove an iTunes music digital booklet from it's source - to force us to open another app to view the liner notes for an album. I predict (and certainly hope) they will reintegrate this in the future.
When I opened iBooks, it only imported one (one!) of numerous digital booklets from my iTunes library. The rest it left stranded in iTunes.
When I tried to import the rest - all named "digital booklet.pdf" and nested within the iTunes library file structure - it tried to overwrite the one that was already there.
The books themselves are buried deep within the system library file system - quite inaccessible.
That's not a problem, necessarily, but not being able to edit metadata (title, author, etc.) also makes no sense whatsoever. Shouldn't it work like iTunes, where I can edit artist, song and album title, etc.?
Anyway, this strikes me as an inadvertent snafu - a bad side effect of the iBooks improvements. Again, I hope Apple is paying attention and will improve both the fuctionality of iBooks (particularly as relates to metadata editability) and its integration with iTunes (reuiniting our music with its accompanying documentation).

  • I keep getting an error message when trying to open a "digital booklet" on my computer

I've downloaded a couple of albums with "Digital Booklets" - when I try to open them on my computer I keep getting an error message saying it was either downloaded wrong or some other problem...

I take it you have Acrobat Reader installed? If the booklet itself is corrupt you'll need to contact the iTunes store support team through the report a problem links in your account history. As far as I'm aware these can't normally be redownloaded so you will need to ask for an exception.

  • Corrupt Digital booklet

Hi, I have just purchased a couple of albums: 'Scissor Sisters - Ta Da' & 'Razorlight - Razorlight ' both came with Digital booklets which should be PDFs but for some reason they won't open. I went into the folder where they are stored and they show as being QuickTime Movies. Obviously this is a problem, any ideas where I can report this and get the actual files?

you have to open them up using quick time. i also had a corrupt file or so i thought until i opened itunes and then opened the folder that the album that i wanted to see :O hope this helps.

  • Print a digital booklet

I recently purchase an album from the iTunes store that included a digital booklet, which I assume is that same thing that a person would get if they bought the CD from a store.
I would like to be able to print the booklet sized correctly so it will fit in a CD case. When I view it in Preview and print a page it prints the full size of a 8.5 x 11 in paper. Is there a way to print it so it is the right size to fit a CD case?

I've got the same question. I bought two albums today and they came with digital booklets. They're nice liner notes, but I wonder why they are not already formatted to be CD-sized (like the "Print CD jewel case insert" feature is).
I tried guessing a size reduction to 75% but that still wouldn't have turned out right. Does anyone have any success with this?
    Thanks.
