Itunes won't allow me to add mp4 videos to library

i have a windows 7 home premium

i am currently using itunes 10
and it worked great until recently, any mp4 video that i download (i download exactly the same way as i downloaded my older videos) would not be allowed my itunes to be put into the library
the mp4 files aren't corrupt cos i played them and they work, they are of the specified aspect ratio for the iphone 3gs

If you set up the iPod originally via wifi then this computer is not your syncing computer and thus you can't sync apps from that computer/library.

  • Adding music from another source to itunes - won't allow me to add to playlist

I have tried to add music from another source - namely a hard drive onto my itunes playlists... which I could do before subscribing to the cloud, but now I can't - I get an error message saying that the playlist will be deleted, and all music has to be "compatible" meaning, bought from itunes.
is there any way around this ??
    thanks for any help offered

  • ITunes won't allow me to add files

My old computer recently crashed (fortunuately I had all my files backed up). I got my new computer today (standard macbook pro 13) and after the initial setup I moved all my old files onto the computer, but when trying to add mp3's to itunes it goes through all the normal processes of adding a file but when it's finished processing the files don't actually appear in itunes. I've done this twice now with the same result. Is there some obvious mistake I'm making? Any help would be nice. Thanks!
PS: I'm opperating on OS X Mavericks and iTunes 11.1

  • Itunes won't allow me to add music to library.  Itunes designated to external drive.

I have an external drive connected to my mac mini.  My itunes library is designated to the external drive insted of my internal drive to save space.  When I try to add music to my itunes library it gives me an error stating I do not have permission.  How do I work around this?

    How exactly did you designate?
When did this happen?  From the minute you designated or some time afterward?
The correct answer lies in knowing details not yet provided.  Until then:

  • ITunes will not allow me 2 add more than 3 songs at one time in2 my library

iTunes won't allow me to add more than 3 songs at one time into my library. I just want to select a number of songs in 'My Music' folder on my pc and then add them in one go. I used to be able to on older versions of iTunes, but now it will only let me add 3 songs (using the 'add file to library' option), and no more then one (using the 'import' option). It's just very annoying as it takes aaages to add songs into my library, when it shouldn't. if anyone knows how to overcome this, please let me know! Thanks

  • When I connect my iPhone (5s) to my computer it says that it's storage is full and that I have over 4,000 pictures even though I have deleted all of them. It won't allow me to add music or anything else either because it says my phone is full.

It won't allow me to add music or anything else either because it says my phone is full. I have restarted my phone and the computer multiple times, but it still tells me that my phone is full.

iPod touches or any iDevices from Apple sync only to one computer. If you sync to a different computer, all your music will be replace with the music from the new computer's iTunes. If the music were purchased from iTunes, you can re-download them again otherwise the music on iPod touch will be deleted. Do you have iTunes backup?

  • My iPad has a different Apple ID than the Apple ID on my computer. The iPad Apple ID has an email address that I no longer use. If I try to add the email address that I now use (and which is my Apple ID on the computer), it won't allow me to add it.

My iPad has a different Apple ID than the Apple ID on my computer. The iPad Apple ID has an email address that I no longer use. If (while on the iPad) I go to My Apple ID and try to change or add the email address that I now use (and which already is my Apple ID on the computer), it won't allow me to add it. It says : "Email address is already verified for another Apple ID"  I haven't really been aware of this as a problem until I tried (for the first time) to sync my iPad to the computer and became aware that certain things wouldn't transfer. What is the solution to this?

What are you having problems with ?
This post was about having updated the primary email address on an iTunes account via a computer - if you do that you might need to log out of the account on an iPad by tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in with the updated version of the account for that email address change to be recognised on your iPad. If you don't log out and back in then an iPad (or iPhone or iPod Touch) might continue to show the old version of the iTunes account id.

I received an Iphone 5 as a gift two days ago. The first thing I did was set up ICloud for photos. Itunes would not allow me to add songs to my new phone without restoring it, yet when I did this, it deleted all 129 photos of my graduation and friends from the past two days. And I cannot find them anywhere, photo stream, ICloud, nothing. Where can I get back my memories?

Were the photos taken by your new iPhone?  If so, did you not import them off your phone to your computer (as you would any other digital camera) before the restore?  If not, restoring wiped the data off the phone and your pictures are gone.
Sounds like a good time to (re)read the User Guide.

Sorry, but as KP guessed, Apple will not exchange the card, and you are correct that you can't use a US iTunes card in Canada. You will need to give or sell it to someone in the US.

  • ITunes won't allow me to manage music on my device

So I just got a new hard drive, and I couldn't recover my library of music from my first drive, but it IS all on my phone. I've started to build a new library of music but iTunes won't allow me to manually manage the music on my iPhone without doing a complete sync, and erasing my first library. How do I resolve this?

It sounds as if you are trying to move it while attached to iTunes and move individual songs. In the Summary page of iTunes, do you have Manually Manage Music checked? If not, that is why you cannot move individual songs. If you change to manually manage music, it will give you a warning that it is going to delete all of the current music on the phone and only take what you manually move over there.

    Hello Achates:
I did not read the rather long post. If you wish to reinstall OS X 10.4, use your software install DVD. Backup is essential. To minimize your risk, I would use an archive and install:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107120
In that way, you will have a fresh copy of OS X and your current settings will be preserved.
Incidentally, I do not agree that the printer problem is best solved by reinstalling OS X. I have had HP printers for sometime and, on one occasion, had difficulty after an upgrade. HP technical support walked me through uninstalling all traces of the HP driver and then reinstalling.

How does it show up in your library if it's not there?
What happens when you selec it and press Play?

  • ITunes won't allow me to purchase HD movie

I just bought an ipad 2 (which is compatible with HD movie right?) and i want to buy my sister's favorite movies "Tangled" and "Toy Story 3" in HD so i can transfer those to my iPhone and iPad.
but my monitor isn't HD monitor yet, and iTunes won't allow me to buy the HD movie anymore
it kinda strange because i've bought some HD movie before, but now it says:
"This cannot be purchased in HD on this computer
To buy or rent this in HD, your computer and display must both support HDCP"
is there a way for me to buy those movies in HD without having to buy a new HD monitor or purchase it on my iPad ? because my pc has faster connection speed than my iPad.

Would be great if someone from Apple could answer!
Apple does not provide support in these forums. Everyone who replies, with extremely rare exceptions, is just a fellow user.
There are several different possible issues presented in this thread, so it's difficult to provide any ideas or suggestions since I can't tell which of the "same problems" you actually have. I'd suggest you start a new discussion detailing your exact issue, setup, country, software versions, etc. and perhaps someone can offer such advice.
    Regards.
