Itunes won't allow me to update my payment details, keeps saying temp error, try later

I'm trying to purchase an app and my payment details have expired but when I add new details it keeps saying temp error, try later. Ive tried 2 sets of details and get the same message. What am I doing wrong?

If you head into your applications folder and locate iTunes. Right click iTunes and show package contents. In there there will be a contents folder --> MacOS --> double click on the iTunes terminal icon. This should force iTunes to open via a terminal window and at the very least it will tell you what it is getting stuck on.

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.

it wont ene get past preparing to sync
then comes up with failed to sync as another cync client is running. i have no other applications syncing with the phone.

There are a number of other threads from people reporting a problem with a blank Updates tab in the App Store app - it looks like there is a problem at Apple's end which they need to fix.
Some posts are suggesting that you if you go into the Purchased tab in the App Store app you might be able to update the apps from there, though you will need to scroll through the list to find those with updates and individually update them.

I had similar problem this time and last time when I upgrade/update iTune, and subsequently solved the problem through the help of this person. You may give it a try and see if this works for you. It works for me now and then. Good luck.

An iPhone 4S can only be updated directly to iOS 8.1.2. You need to resolve the issue which prevents you from updating to it instead of attempting to install an intermediate version.

Sorry, but as KP guessed, Apple will not exchange the card, and you are correct that you can't use a US iTunes card in Canada. You will need to give or sell it to someone in the US.

So I just got a new hard drive, and I couldn't recover my library of music from my first drive, but it IS all on my phone. I've started to build a new library of music but iTunes won't allow me to manually manage the music on my iPhone without doing a complete sync, and erasing my first library. How do I resolve this?

It sounds as if you are trying to move it while attached to iTunes and move individual songs. In the Summary page of iTunes, do you have Manually Manage Music checked? If not, that is why you cannot move individual songs. If you change to manually manage music, it will give you a warning that it is going to delete all of the current music on the phone and only take what you manually move over there.
