Itunes won't connect to internet or update, NO ERROR MESSAGE!

So when I plug in my iPod touch 5th gen and go to store, it doesn't do anything! It just says "Accessing iTunes store..." and that's it. When I try to update or back up my iPod it says the update server is unavailable try again later and the back up gets stuck at Step 2. I tried all the anti virus stuff, firewall stuff, reset my winsock, release/refreshed my internet.

  • ITunes won't launch and I get a strange error message-

My iTunes will not launch and I get this strange error message: The iTunes application could not be opened. The disk could not be read from or written to. But I have no problems with the disk it is on, which is my harddisk. Help, help, help…

I have now tried a billion things: None of them work. I still get the same error message, when I try to launch iTunes after logging into my user profile. However, I can launch iTunes 6.0.1 if I create another userprofile on my computer and log into that. But that isn't very helpful. I have also tried removing iTunes 6.0.1 and installing iTunes 4.7 instead. I can actually launch that. However, I cannot connect to the iTunes music store using iTunes 4.7 nor can I play any of the music purchased from the iTunes music store. What am I to do, except curse Apple for creating a version of iTunes that many people seem to have problems with?

  • ITunes won't connect to internet

I can't access the iTunes Store, Internet Radio, or download missing album art. This was a problem I had in iTunes 6 as well, I figured iTunes 7 would fix it. No go.
Under Help > Run Diagnostics, it confirms that I'm connected to the internet, but the store won't connect. I searched but found nothing that helped.
Then I figured maybe it's my college campus internet blocking, but that isn't it because all of my flatmates can access the store no problem.
    Thanks for helping!

  • TS3771 My iTunes U no longer works since the update, an error message pops up saying that "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes." I followed the tutorial that suggests to change to from 64 to 32 bit and it didn't

iTunes U video files no longer work on my computer since i update to Mavericks. The following message appears on the screen "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes." I followed a tutorial that suggested to go to Applications/iTunes/Get Info and change to 32 bit. Now my iTunes does not open at all, it says it requires 64 bit. I am a bit confused and disappointed. What should I do to get it fixed? Buy a new MacBook?

Marcello, I am having the same problem.  When following the advice of many in the community to start iTunes in 32-bit mode, I get the following error after I have done so:
I am running 10.9.2 on a mac mini.
I am hoping this will be fixed or at least a solid answer could be given that iTunes will no longer support certain types of media going foward.

  • Newbie, Help! iTunes won't play or import random files - no error message

Have a large library of MP3 files created with Real Audio. All played well in Real Audio or Windows Player. I did a complete unintall of Real Audio, installed ITunes, and while it accepts some of the songs(files), it doesn't accept others. It seems utterly random. There are no differences between the files. All are legit. I do not get an error message, but NOTHING happens no matter what method I employ to play or import the song/file. Have compared file attributes via properties and there is no difference. Itunes is the default player, and I have not reinstalled Real Audio. I just listen to the songs on computer while working, but thought I would try Itunes and get an IPod. Not off to a very good start.

I suppose Real Audio was used, though for sometime I used Iomega to store them on zip disks. It has been a long time. For the CD's that I have on hand, I have been doing what you suggested. This is not easy, as the old files were just all together in one file, and while I thought I had changed settings so that iTunes would do the same (after learning that iTunes puts things in lots of different folders - especially confusing for me with soundtracks with different artists)the last one I did was put in folders entitled unknown/unknown with only track numbers. And if I change anything using explorer, I have to find each file for iTunes again. I'm still struggling, not understanding how these mp3 files are different in some way. Some are from the same CD's. At any rate, now that I am (found your term) ripping these CD's again, is there a way to avoid all the folders and layers of folders? Thank you for your patience. Obviously when my daughters were here to help, me being green was not a problem@

My Itunes recognizes that the newer version of software is available, yet when i click update it reads 'Itunes cannot contact the iphone software update server because you are not connected to the internet. Make sure your internet connection is active and try again'.

  • Phone won't connect to internet after update to 4.3.4.

Prior to the latest update, my phone worked fine, requiring a restart maybe once a week when it would not connect to the internet.  Now since the update, requires a restart after every 2 or 3 pages of internet.  Ideas?

Turning off unneeded features will help battery usage, such as Push Notification, turn down screen brightness a bit, and numerous others. Search on this forum for battery drain, usage and such.
A fix for battery drain issues is to Restore the Firmware and set up the iPhone as "New" when iTunes asks at the end of the Restore Process.

  • ITunes won't open  at all... only error messages

    hey guys,
no idea what's going on with my iTunes its really annoying though here's the scoop i got a lot of bad crap on my comp. so i had it formatted by a guy at work came home installed itunes opened it up it worked great all the sudden it closes itself and now it won't open at all i've redownloaded it at least ten times... nothing works... soon as i click on the iTunes icon it says iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close i sent the error report and it said Apple had a solution to my problem.. but after hours of searching i have found nothing so i'm just going to post this up hoping someone knows whats up (um just for some info i went to my add/remove hardware and quicktime wasn't in there... that's not right i think someone let me know lol)
any help would be much appreciated really wanting to update my new songs on my iPod

No thats not right, iTUnes uses parts of quicktime to play audio and video. You need to go here and download the stand alone version of quicktime. Now apple has recently changed this page to include quicktime with iTUnes and then qwuicktime only. get the one WITHOUT iTUnes,
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
