ITunes won't connect to the internet

I currently got Comcast working at my house, and when I went to restore my iPod shuffle, it said I couldn't connect. I ran the iTunes diagnostics and it alerted me that "Secure Link to iTunes Store failed".

  • Itunes won't connect to the internet...HELP!

itunes won't connect to the internet everytime i try to accsess the itunes store it says there a connection error and that i need to check my connection. I know i am connected to the internet on SPRINT BROADBAND. What can i do?

I am having the same problem. Upgraded from 8.0.1 to 8.0.2 Everything worked fine before the upgrade. Since the upgrade I can connect to the internet but Itunes will not connect to the itunes store. Network is fine. There is no problem with my firewall. The problem is with upgrade to 8.0.2. I did a system restore to yesterday and itunes is back to 8.0.1 and is running fine. I tried the update again and back to the same old problem. Spent about 6 hours searching for the answer but I have found nothing. If I restore itunes back to 8.0.1 it works and connects to the itunes store. If I upgrade to 8.0.2 itunes will not connect to the itunes store.

  • Itunes won't connect to the internet. Won't even let me create a new apple id not enter mine to at least edit my account at all.

I suddenly lost the ability to access my apple account at all. Can't login because it says there is no active connection even tho I can web browse and all normally. Is there a way that is not thru itunes for me to be able to access my account and at least delete or deactivate it? Or better yet a way to fix this? I have tried many of the troubleshooting solutions and nothing yet... Can't access the store not even thru my ipad or iphone....

I am having the same problem you had back in oct, how did you fix it?  Itunes wont connect to the internet but my computer is connected to the internet.  I have uninstalled and reinstulled.  What next?  How do I get Itunes to connect to my network?

  • My iTunes won't Connect to the Internet

ive tried everything including connecting to the LAN line, using different service providers, using different routers, even re-installing iTunes, but it wont connect to the store. does anyone know what i should do? any help would be appreciated.

iTunes still works, as in i can listen to music, but when it opens, or i click on the iTunes store button, a box pops up and says, "ITunes could not connect to the itunes store. the network connection was refused." its iTunes 8.1

  • Safari for windows and itunes won't connect to the internet

    Hi all,
I tried to connect to the itunes store this morning and it does't work. I can't tell you the last time I actually used the itunes store. Months ago at least. I'm not getting an error message or anything. The bar gets less than half way accross then just stops.
Second problem. After finally getting fed up with internet explorer I decided to change my browser to Safari (for windows). It insalled fine and opens ok. But it just won't load any web pages. Again, no error messages or anything. The bar gets part way accross then just stops.
I have tried all of the tips on the apple website and I've also tried all the tips in the forums that have worked for everyone else but not me.
I've added Safari and checked that itunes is allowed in my firewall. Even tried turning my firewall off.
I've checked that I'm not connecting through a proxy server.
I've tried resetting the host file.
All of the software on my computer is up to date.
I've tried flushing the DNS settings.
I've run diagnostics in itunes. (All ok)
My internet explorer runs ok so there is no problem with my internet connection.
I've tried just about everything I can think of and nothing works so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks,
    Emma

I'm also having this problem for about 3 months now. Tried contacting twice with Apple Support and after a few tips, they just stopped responding. Tried uninstalling the entire Apple Suite (QuickTime, iTunes, Safari, Bonjour, etc.) and still didn't work. APPLE, PLEASE HELP US HERE!
I also ran a diagnostic and found a problem to connect to the Store (sorry for the diagnostic in portuguese... system language):

Apple, once again I ask you to help us on this one. In the next holliday I'll nuy a tablet and a phone to my mother and I'm considering getting an Android. I have a lot of apps in my library now, but I'll not format my PC just to get iTunes and Safari working. Sorry, but if it doesn't work or we don't receive any response, I'll ditch Apple products for good.

  • TS1717 My iTunes won't connect to the internet.

It is not a proxy issue. I can't download podcasts or go to the store. Everything else works and I can still connect to the web on any browser. Any ideas?

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • Itunes 8 won't connect to the internet. Connection is live

I recently upgraded to version 8 and now it won't connect to the internet. I ran diagnostics and my connection is ok but itunes won't connect. It says that the connection timed out but it pops that message up instantly so it doesn't even have a chance to connect or time out. Any help? I don't want to have to lose all my settings by uninstalling if I don't have to.

The #1 cluprit for no iTunes store connection after an upgrade is Norton.
Even though iTunes shows as being allowed in Norton, it really isn't for reasons we do not know. You have to go into Norton settings, take iTunes out, and put it back in the list. Also iTunes Helper. There are hundreds of posts about this in the itunes store forums.
    Here are Norton directions

  • Installed iTunes 10.5 but after I restarted my computer it won't connect to the Internet. All other computers in the house connect to Internet just fine. Help!!

Installed iTunes 10.5 but after I restarted my computer it won't connect to the Internet. All other computers in the house connect to Internet just fine. Help!! I Did all the regular modem diagnostics but that computer won't connect and it's a hard wire connection, not wireless (too far from the wireless signal). Is anyone else having this problem?

    Hello, might try this...
Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712
    10.5, 10.6, 10.7 & 10.8…
System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.
    10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x/10.8.x instructions...
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
IFor 10.5/10.6/10.7/10.8, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
(There may be better or faster DNS numbers in your area, but these should be a good test).
    Click OK.

  • My iPod Touch 2nd generation won't connect to the Internet

After restoring my iPod Touch 2nd gen to factory settings because that's what iTunes advised me to do after doing the iTunes update a week ago, my iPod won't connect to the internet anymore. I was able to connect to our wifi but it won't go to any website, to iTunes, etc. I'm 100% sure the problem isn't our wifi because I'm using it right now with my laptop so it's not the wireless problem. Before restoring my iPod to factory settings iti has always worked and I never had a problem connecting it. I tried restoring it again but it still didn't work. I already also reset our router but still no luck. I wish someone could help me asap!! Thank you.

    You can try:
    - reset:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off an then backon your router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

  • My iTunes will not connect to the internet because it is tied to IE's proxy settings but IE does not work how do I change the proxy setting to FireFox

I have stopped using IE because it doesn't work, however my iTunes will not connect to the internet now because it is tied to the proxy setting in IE and now I am using FireFox, so, how do I get iTunes to see FireFox as my web browser.

  • My iPhone 5 won't connect to the Internet.

I have a factory unlocked iPhone 5, and I had my regular-sized SIM cut to fit the iPhone 5, since the nano SIM is not available yet in my country (Venezuela). The SIM works, I get messages, calls, etc. But it won't connect to the internet unless I'm on wi-fi. I've tried in different places, with full 3G signal, but it doesn't work. The weird thing about this is that I get Whatsapp messages (and I can send them as well), I get notifications from Instagram and Twitter, but it won't let me, say, enter my Twitter profile, or load Instagram pictures. It won't load any kind of internet content, neither with Safari nor Chrome.
The phone (or rather iOS 6) doesn't seem to have any option to edit the APN, so I researched a bit and found the iPhone Configuration Utility. I used it a couple of months before with an iPhone 3G to set an APN and it worked. Only this time, it wouldn't let me create and install a new profile on the iPhone 5. It would let me install the old profile I had for the Iphone 3G, which had the same APN settings I was trying to use now (both from the same carrier) but it didn't fix the internet issue. I also tried the Unlockit method, but it didn't work either.
What bothers me is that I've seen in a few websites screencaps of the Mobile Data screen, and it shows an option to configurate the APN settings in the phone itself, but mine's missing it.
I'd really appreciate if you could help me out, or at least give me a hint of what could be causing this. I've tried almost everything, and I've read a lot of posts here, but I haven't found anything useful. Thanks in advance.

In addition to what ChrisJ4203 said about cellular data, check your carriers website, it may need you to enter APN settings to allow internet access over cellular.
Also does normal telephone calling & SMS work? Disable wifi to avoid using iMessage as a test. If the SIM is damaged or blocked etc it may not work with cellular data, does the phone give you any error messages when powering on?
Another thing to try is to back up to iTunes & check for updates to iOS - sometimes a carrier update can restore the cellular network settings.

  • Safari won't connect to the internet?

Safari won't connect to the internet. My Itunes store works fine, and i can update my software without any problems.
    Anyone have a sollution?

I open Safari => Top sites open ==> i click on a site ==> Safari says " Safari can't open the page "http://www.youtube.com/" because Safari can't connect to the server "www.youtube.com".

  • My ATV gen 2 won't connect to the internet over a wireless BT home hub 5 network

My ATV gen 2 won't connect to the internet over a wireless BT home hub 5 network. I've recently upgraded to a BT HH5 and now I cannot airplay with my 2011-MBP, and the ATV will not connect to the iTunes store or software update.

Ok, thanks (not sure I know what you mean!). I have seen a solution that tells me to rename the two SSID's? Is that what you mean? Now I have disabled the 5GHz channel all devices are on the 2.4GHz channel and all work fine, including the Apple TV and airplay between my MBP and ATV.

  • My MacBook Pro won't connect to the Internet, but my phone and PC will.

My MacBook Pro won't connect to the Internet. My iPhone has no problem doing so, and neither does my PC. I think it's something to do with my DNS, but I'm not sure. My network connections say that both my Ethernet or FireWire are failed. What's wrong with my MacBook? Is there a simple way to fix this?

    Hello Rattisate,
Sorry to hear you are not able to connect to Wi-Fi on your MacBook Pro.  I would be concerned about this too.  You can find information on how to troubleshoot this in the following article:

Follow the steps in the section labeled, "Symptom: My Mac does not connect to the Internet."
