ITunes won't connect to the iTunes store

I've tried everything on the support page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1368 and even tried completely removing iTunes using the Control Panel and reinstalling it, but iTunes still won't connect to the iTunes store.  I'm just stuck on the loading page.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Hey, I had the same problem with the itunes not connecting to the store thing, I recommend checking your firewall and stuff make sure itunes (or safari) is not blocked, if everything is ok with that (apple apps not blocked), Uninstall Itunes, safari, quicktime icloud and whatever apple app you have on your computer. and get an earlier version.... the problem in some cases? Apple Application Support on itunes 10/quicktime 7 and later, a flaw that apple has to work on I recommend downloading a earlier version of itunes

My itunes won't connect to the itunes server. Can someone help?

This forum is for questions from those managing sites on iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store. You'll be most likely to get help with this issue if you ask in the general iTunes forums.
When you repost, you'll need to include a lot more informaton about your system and the exact nature of the problem. As it is, there's nothing for anyone to base a diagnosis on.
    Regards.

  • Itunes won't connect to the music store

my itunes will not connect to the music store. i have re-installed itunes, and followed the instructions here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304084 but nothing has worked so far. in addition to that, itunes won't recognize the names and tracks of any of me cds that i try to upload to my itunes library. i am on a college campus and can see all of the people on my shared network and listen to music so i have no idea what the problem is. it hasen't worked since sunday night.

my school limited the bandwidth and itunes timed out by the time it would ever connect...

  • My itunes won't connect to the apple store or let me download any new music?

i used to just download music from a youtube to mp3 converter website and i would just click and drag the file into my itunes and then sync and then the song would be on my phone/itunes; but now whenever i try to do that it says "file does not seem to be a valid podcast URL. please check that you have entered the correct URL and try again." i tried downloading music from other websites that i know always work, but the same message pops up everytime. I also can't connect to the itunes store or check for an update. my itunes has been doing these things for weeks and i don't know what to do to fix it.

I am having the same problem. I have iTunes on my work computer & home computer, both are running old systems (10.4.11) and I have not upgraded iTunes past version 8 I believe. I did try to download iTunes 10 but the specs said system 10.5 was required. All week on my work comp. I cannot connect to the iTunes store, it says "We could not complete your iTunes store request. The iTunes store is temporarily unavailable, please try again later."
I have had some issues before this where it won't let me purchase/download items because I don't have the current version iTunes. I'm wondering has the store now been made completely unavailable to those with older versions of iTunes? I would love to have the latest and greatest versions of the Mac system & iTunes but for many reasons cannot upgrade right now. I hope this is not the case.

  • TS1368 My itunes won't connect to the itunes store...it just accesses til it times out.

I transferred my hard drive content from my desk top to my new Laptop.  Itunes transferred, but it will not access the Itunes store from the Itunes program.  I do not have to many devices authorized to my account, and I enabled  my firewall settings to accept Itunes.  I noticed it doesn't have an address, so I put one in, but it still won't access the store.  Any suggestions?

With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)

I downloaded iOS 8.2 on my iPhone 5s 32 GB and now my phone won't connect to the iTunes store, and my iTunes Match is turned off and won't turn back on... I'm trying to log in from Settings > iTunes & App Store... not working...  I have reset the phone twice, tried via cell service, and rebooted my wireless router..

As per the Apple iCloud status page, they are having issues. Do not make changes at your end.

  • Some movies/categories won't connect to the itunes store.

Some movies/categories won't connect to the itunes store.  When we try to access kids/family genre it says it can't connect.  But we can see some kids/family movies from top movies, but others not? For instance when I search on a movie it finds the movie, but when I try to access it, it doesn't work.  We can see the same movie and access it ok on our mac mini and the ipad, what is wrong?  It is very frustrating.

    Hi Belliefromvic,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
What I would recommend in this situation would be first restarting the Apple TV by following the instructions in the attached article. If the issue continues, I suggest reading and working through the Resolve network or streaming issues section of the article.

  • My iPad won't connect to the iTunes store, is anyone else having this problem?

My iPad won't connect to the iTunes store, I've never had any problems before. Also I have the sling box app and it isn't working either. It now says remote streaming is not enabled on this device and I have used sling box in the past with out any problems. Any help would be appreciated.

Usually it's because you are not making internet connection via wifi.

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

Reset the iPad and try again. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Let go of the buttons, let the iPad start up.

    HI again Andy,
The last message had some more stuff in between the "Hello" and "Regards" - I have no idea what happened to it. But nevermind...
I started up the Mini with the modem in one usb, and the speaker system in the other (M-Audio Sonica Theatre) - I have one of the Minis that have only 2 USB (and one FireWire) ports. The firewire has the external drive connected to it.
So far, as I"m typing this, I AM able to be online and use iTunes simultaneously. (both SaFari and iTunes respond slower than if I was using only one or the other, but they ARE actually working - in addition to having Adium running) - So I think what you suggested ( that is was something wonky was the USB hub) was a correct, yet assessment.
Would you have any reccommendations for USB hubs? The only thing that I have connected to the hub under normal circumstances that would be constantly "running" would be the RadioShark (even though the Radio soft isn't playing - the blue light on the RadioShark is always on) - and the speakers naturally. Everything else is of the occassional variety - iPod Sync Cable, Dual Layer External DVD Burner, and a "pass thu" to the USB ports on my Hard Drive Enclosure (which had been unplugged before the problem was noticed). The hub I current use is the
    Kensington DomeHub USB 2.0 (7 ports) Weighted Hub 33118 http://www.amazon.com/Kensington-DomeHub-ports-Weighted-33118/dp/B0002FHENE/ref= sr16/002-4275642-8664817?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1187848108&sr=8-6
which (I thought) worked better than the "throwaway" ones I had used previously.
You think it is the hub or something connected to it that may be causing the problem?
Regardless, thank you for your time, and I hope to hear from you soon.

  • My computer won't connect to the iTunes Store

When I attempt to go to the iTunes store on my computer, it displays the error "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. An unknown error occured (0x80090318)."
I've tried everything listed in other discussions, but it's still not working and I'm getting extremely frustrated. Please help?
Also, my iPod is taking forever to sync to the computer, it's been "backing up" for a couple hours now and I'm assuming it has something to do with the iTunes store not opening.

  • My iTunes on my PC won't connect to the iTunes store

When I try to sync my Ipad with my PC, a window pops up that says my computer is no longer authorized and if I don't authorize it then all my apps will be deleted. In order to authorize my computer, the iTunes needs to connect with the iTunes store.I tried to authorize it but my iTunes WILL NOT connect to the iTunes store. I've tried for hours and on various days, and it's not an internet connection problem. I figured maybe I needed to update my iTunes but in order to check for updates in the first place I have to connect to the iTunes store. What shall I do?

    Hi  DustinRCannon,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  Try the following steps for issues connecting to the iTunes Store from your PC.  I'm including the entire article below as I don't know what version of Windows you are working with.

  • ITunes won't connect to the store, home sharing, or Cloud.

I just got an iPhone, and since I've had a touch before, I know how to use iTunes. Didn't have it on this computer, so I downloaded it, set it up, etc. Now I'm trying to sign into the iTunes store and it insists I have no internet connection. Uh, obviously I do because my browser is working fine, and I just downloaded the program itself. Specifically, it says "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. An unknown error ocurred. (-3212) Make sure your internet connection is active and try again."
Is there something I'm doing wrong? Did I download a wrong version? I'm using Windows 8, I'm running Adblock and Norton, and I have a few games on here. I'm pretty good with computers, but this is stumping me, and everything I've tried isn't working.

    maybe its norton/adblock...just guessing
