ITunes won't detect eligible upgrades

iTunes refuses to upgrade Wolf Parade's 'Apologies to Queen Mary' in it's entirety. I have been able to upgrade 3 songs from the album and iTunes doesn't even list those songs as upgradable now. What is going on?
The attached images show the folder with mostly protected M4P files and 3 M4A files:
http://i40.tinypic.com/23iuuj4.jpg
And the iTunes store where I upgraded the 3 songs shows nothing in my album should be iTunes Plus upgradable:
http://i41.tinypic.com/144388g.jpg
Anybody know the story how I was able to upgrade 3 songs when iTunes says I shouldn't be able to? And since iTunes plus conversion was supposed to be completed by the end of March, why is this album not converted yet?
Thanks.

Apparently sometimes, for various reasons (replacement of a track in the Store with another copy, slight changes in the release identification, etc.) the link between the track and your Purchase History can break, which will result in the track not appearing as eligible for iTunes Plus upgrade even though it exists as Plus in the Store.
Contact the iTunes Store Customer Service department again using the form at the bottom of the Purchase Issues FAQ web page and explain the problem to them as completely as you can. It may take several email exchanges to get past the "form" email responses and make it clear to them what your situation is, but through patience and persistence, eventually they should work out a solution for you. You will probably need to provide the track name, artist and order number so they can confirm the original purchase.
Good luck.

  • ITunes Won't Detect My iTouch

Hey guys, I know there have been a few questions about this. Basicly, I upgraded my iTouch to v2.0 on my laptop that's running Vista. When I took it over to my desktop since I usually use that computer, iTunes won't detect my iTouch. Is there any way do fix this BESIDES having to put my iTouch in DFU mode? I've already got a bunch of apps that I really like and I don't want to have to reget them all.
    Thanks

Ok, so I've tried to put my iTouch in DFU mode since all else has failed and well, that fails too. I hold the sleep and home buttons then let go of my sleep button, but when I finish it all, iTunes doesn't recognize my iTouch as an iPod in DFU mode. Then, when I try to turn my iTouch on or make something happen with it, nothing happens. I tried to redo the DFU steps and after reputting it in to DFU mode it turns on and my iTouch is like it was before anything happened. Can anyone help? I can't get my songs and videos and pictures and all that stuff on my iTouch cause they're all on my desktop and my desktop won't recognize my iTouch.
    Thanks

  • Itunes won't detect ipod...

Hey all. I previously installed my ipod on my computer with all the software and it was working fine. It was working perfectly. I decided to return it to get a smaller version, but before I did that, I had to restore the factory settings. I later decided to keep the current ipod, but now itunes won't detect the ipod. I tried reinstalling the software numerous times and it didn't work. I also plugged it into a different usb port like the manual suggests but it still doesn't work. Can anyone please help? thanks.

  • ITunes won't detect my iPhone 4

I currently use a MacBook Pro with the 12.0.1 version of iTunes, however I also have an iPhone 4 and recently got an iPhone 5. In order to backup my iPhone 4 and put it onto the 5 i need to be able to sync, but iTunes won't detect my device (iPhone 4). I have completely uninstall iTunes so that I can install an older version that is compatible with my iPhone 4.
So my question is, what is the latest version of iTunes available that is compatible with the iPhone 4 software of 7.1?
    All help is appreciated, thanks.

For anyone else having this issue on OS X this post will fix it.
Steps 7, 8 and 9 may not be required in Snow Leopard.

Reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Service:
    1. Disconnect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod from the Mac.
    2. In the Finder, locate iTunes in the Applications folder and drag it to the Trash.
    3. Move the iTunes icon to the Trash.
    4. Choose Go > Go to Folder.
    5. Enter /System/Library/Extensions and click Go.
    6. Locate the file AppleMobileDevice.kext and drag it to the Trash.
    7. Choose Go > Go to Folder.
    8. Enter /Library/Receipts/ and click Go.
    9. Locate the file AppleMobileDeviceSupport.pkg and drag it to the Trash. If prompted, authenticate with the administrator password.
    10. Restart the computer.
    11. Choose Finder > Empty Trash and restart the computer.
    12. Download and install the current version of iTunes.
    13. Connect your device to the Mac again and open iTunes & see if you can sync now.

So I backed up and reset my settings, updated iTunes and ever since my iTunes won't detect my iPhone.
I have tried all the troubleshooting options, uninstalled & reinstalled iTunes twice, and it's still not showing when I plug in my phone.
MY phone keeps restarting, won't allow me to text, won't allow me to turn on my iMessages.
Someone please help before I throw my phone against a wall.

    This may help:

  • ITunes won't detect firmware 4.3.3 for iPhone 3GS

I've read about the problem where it doesn't download it and you have to turn off the firewall etc.  However my problem is that it just won't detect it at all.  I check for updates and it says that my iphone is update to date which is running on a 4.2.1.  I even tried to manualy do by downloading the firmware and going into recovery mode on the phone and shift clicking restore but then it says that the firmware is not compatible with my phone.
The phone is an iPhone 3GS not jailbroken running on 4.2.1.
    Running Windows 7 64bit.
I have the most recent version of iTunes.
I did the whole virus protection being off, firewall off and changing the host file thing.
Nothing seems to work and I'm not sure what else to do here.  I thought perhaps the 4.3.3 firmware wasn't for the 3GS but reading about it seems it is so I'm not sure why iTunes won't detect it.

    Try getting it from here
    http://osxdaily.com/2011/05/04/ios-4-3-3-download/
Download the version for your phone, then connect the phone to iTunes and hold SHIFT while clicking Check for Updates. You can then install the file you downloaded above.

  • Itunes won't detect all my music

Itunes won't detect all of the music on my PC there for I can't transfer all of it to my Ipad.  Thoughts?

Think I found the problem.  It appears that if you have music that is incompatible with the ipad and you don't have the automatic converter to AAC turned on itunes just stops there and won't load the rest of the music.

  • I have a new Ipad 2.  iTunes won't detect it.

I have a new iPad 2, i need connect my iPad with iTunes to use. But iTunes won't detect it. I used lastest version iTunes and win7. When i connect iPhone 4 with my laptop, it's good. But it can't recognize iPad2. What's the probleme here?

I have a similar problem, but it began when i installed iTunes 10.5.2.11 on my windows 7 computer and tried to install the latest update to ipad2 software.  Prior to installing the new itunes, i had been able to sync with itunes easily and as expected.
After installing the new version of iTunes - the ipad2 began to act strangely:
it did not charge correctly even when connected to OEM power adapter ("not charging" message appeared when plugged in)... this still appears to be an issue, though it does not happen all the time.
the computer no longer recognizes the ipad device (i have tried different cables and it does recognize my ipod nano)
i am afraid to reset the ipad for fear that i will still not be able to connect afterwards and i will have lost all the apps currently installed.
Any hints on how to go about fixing this issue?

  • My iTunes won't detect my iPhone that has to be restored via iTunes *because if pass code problems* and its running iOS 7.2

my iTunes won't detect my iPhone that has to be restored via iTunes *because if pass code problems* and its running iOS 7.0.4

If itunes is comming up and saying it can't read the device because it's locked with a passcode, you may have to put your device into recovery mode first.
To put your device in recovery mode: (Following these steps will erase your device and reset everything to factory defaults)
    1) press and hold the power button until you see the slide to power off option
    2) swipe to power off
    3) Press and hold the home button while the device is off and connect it to your computer. Continue holding the home button until you see a graphic with the iTunes logo with a picture of a USB cable below it.
    4) iTunes should give you a message that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click ok and then select Restore iPhone. iTunes will download a fresh copy of iOS and then wipe the device and restore it. Depending on the speed of your computer's internet connection this may take a while. Just leave the iphone connected to your computer until it's finished.
If itunes is not detecting it at all or is Not giving you the message that the phone is locked with a passcode, you may end up having to reinstall itunes. This seems to be a fairly common problem after the most recent itunes update (11.1.5)
If this is the case and you happen to be running a windows based computer you will have to uninstall itunes in this order from your programs and features option in control panel:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Then download and reinstall itunes from itunes.com try putting your device into recovery mode again and restore.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers.

  • Itunes won't detect ipod touch after upgrade to firmware 1.1.4

I am in desperate need of help. My 16GB Ipod is no longer being detected by iTunes.
I decided to upgrade the firmware to 1.1.4. through iTunes. The update wasn't interrupted and i can see no issues during the procedure. when the update was completed, my iPod had no content in it and it wasn't showing up in iTunes.
Here's what i've tried so far to correct this:
    - Uninstalled iTunes and all other apple related software and then re-installed
    - tried different USB ports on my laptop
    - Reset all setting within the ipod
    - Run the iTunes diagnostic. It error's out during the sync test.
I've tried to find any other similar example on other sites but haven't been successful.
    Please help.

  • ITunes won't open after upgrading to 11

My girlfriend's iPad mini is disabled, so I'm trying to connect it to her old macbook (10.6.8), the one which it is associated with.  Upon plugging in the iPad, I was prompted to update iTunes, because the iPad is running iOS 7 and needs the latest version of iTunes.  I said ok, and iTunes upgraded to 11.
Now, iTunes will not start.  When i click on the icon, it bounces once and then nothing else happens.  I've tried restarting, creating new accounts, and deleting all the com.apple.itunes preference files, but it's not working.  What the ****?  I can't undisable the iPad because iTunes won't start.  How do I fix this?

After updating to OSX 10.9.3, my iTunes won't open. If I try to drag it to trash, I get the message "iTunes can't be modified or deleted because it is required by OS X".

okay. it's way rarer to get this sort of thing due to NIS 2006 than it is with 2005, but it has been known to happen.
try the technique from the following bbecker post. (heads-up ... it's taking a long time for that post in that thread to load for properly for some folks. so leave it to think for a few minutes until it's loaded fully, otherwise you might not see the correct post.)

  • ITunes won't sync (after "upgrading" to Lion because my four year old macBook can't use Mtn. Lion) With a little ranting sprinkled in.

I hope someone out there has the expertise to tell me what I am doing wrong. I expect a learning curve from a new Mac operating system, but I don't expect weeks of problem solving and glitches. Lion...well, they won't let me use that word.
Since I "upgraded" to Lion, when I hit "sync" in iTunes on the computer, I get one of three things:  1. Nothing happens, or:  2. A message appears that there is not sufficient room on the Nano for the changes, which is not true, or:  3. It syncs down to next to nothing on the Nano and I have to hit revert.
Sometimes I'm confronted with a screen that wants me to check or uncheck each and every album (but not songs) that I want synced. I have already kept up to date a more specific and complete list of the same sort elsewhere in iTunes: the "Music" list in my itunes "Library." Today I unchecked some songs and checked some others expecting to easily have the corresponding changes made on my iPod, as I have for years.  This is the list that I have refined over the years based on new music acquired, my changing tastes, and room left on the iPod.  Am I really expected to duplicate this process on another list only to end up with no options for individual songs I do, or do not, want synced? What is the purpose of this exercise?
I finally got it to upgrade to iTunes 10.6.3.  I was repeatedly getting a message in iTunes that there was an upgrade available. I would hit upgrade within that mesage in iTunes.  It would go through the process of checking for new software and then tell me my software was up to date. (I was running iTunes 10.6 (40).) Software update also told me my software was up to date. I had to go to the Apple site to find and download and install iTunes 10.6.3. The change made no difference to the above problem. I'm not used to screw-ups like this from Apple.
I can't think of a single change in Lion that I like. Not one. I hate the new calendar. I hate the new Safari, and I hate the new Mail. I hate the combination of Google search and the address bar.  I hate the way hiting a hot link in Mail opens a new tab in Safari instead of a new window. And the number of hassles and fixes and problems to be solved in the move from Snow Leopard to Lion has been like nothing I have experienced before on a Mac.
An iMac and a laptop are not iOS devices. And iPads and iPhones are not laptops or desktops. To try to merge the operating systems is a major error in my opinion. Thanks for putting up with my rant. I never expected to be so frustrated by a Mac "upgrade."  And I've been using Macs a log time. Any advise would be apreaciated.
    "Shinwell Johnson"

In lieu of relaxing on Sunday, I've been working on this.
I tried launching Thunderbird (TB) in TB's "Safe Mode".  This launches TB like it's being used for the first time - and it didn't crash, which got me hopeful.
So I deleted the TB profile folder and the TB preference file from the ~/Library folder.  Then I manually copied them over from my old Mac to my new Mac - figuring that maybe something got damaged by Migration Assistant.  After I installed all of the TB files and folders into the right places in my ~/Library folder, I rebooted the Mac (just to be safe) and tried to launch TB - and it crashed upon launching, with essentially the same crash log as shown above.
So it looks like there is something in my TB Profile that Lion doesn't like (but that Snow Leopard was fine with).
Any suggestions for how to find and fix/remove the offending item?  Is there something I could search for in the crash log that would point me to the offending item?

  • My iPod Touch is in Recovery Mode and iTunes Won't Detect It ?

    iPod Touch 4G
    iOS 5.1
    Purchased 2010
I Opened Up iTunes and Upgraded to iOS 5.1.1 from 5.1 as a "Download Only". The Next Morning I Go To My Computer Plug In My iPod and Update. My iPod Then Goes into Recovery Mode and When I Quit Recovery mode It goes straight to recovery mode again with and without the cable. iTunes does not detect it when i plus it in and neither does my computer, i have tried restarting apple mobile support and that does not work. The nearest apple store is 20 miles but i could go there.

See if you can kick it out of recovery mode with RecBoot.
