ITunes won't download podcasts in Windows 7

iTunes takes a long time loading and when it does, it constantly freezes up. It will download podcasts and then the error bubble will pop up and it won't complete the download. I've tried reinstalling and nothing seems to resolve the issue. This happens every time there is an update and I have the latest version 10.7 (?) I run Windows 7 Professional

The error says something like network/internet connection not availble or experienced an error, try again. Something like that. Normally, though, iTunes just freezes up and I can't do anything.
Also, when I download items individually, it'll get to the point where it says, "Processing File" and then blanks out with no resulting blue dot and checkmark.
I searched for the download folder and didn't find any files in there to delete. Since my library is networked, I feel like that's also causing a bunch of issues.
I've gone through and updated security, repaired iTunes and QuickTime, nothing appears to make iTunes run without crashing. I've closed out all other applications and rebooted, started it in safe mode and as an administrator and cannot resolve this issue, which has been going on for over a week now and is really getting frustrating. I don't want to spend my whole day trying to trouble shoot something that's not working for no apparent reason.

I see that the new icon is red . It is from the update but i cant click on it to actually go to my itunes . So i uninstalled it and all , but then i installed it again and i still cant go to it . It says error 127 i think .

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

itunes won't download because something about "mobile device not authorized?"

    Hi buckirich,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  It sounds like you may need to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service.  This article has instructions for doing this:

If that doesn't resolve the issue, I would recommend trying a thorough uninstall and reinstall of iTunes as described here:

  • My songs from iTunes won't download, I went to the downloads tap and all seven of my new songs say "download error, tap to retry" and when I tap on one a message pops up saying " this song could not be downloaded at this time". What do I do?

My songs from iTunes won't download. I recently just purchased 7 songs and they took my money but now the songs won't download to my phone. I have gone to the download screen on the iTunes app and under each song it says "download error. Tap to retry". When I tap to retry a song a message pops up saying "this song could not be downloaded at this time." And it gives me two options. Either done or retry. I have tried to download them many times. I signed out and signed back in on iTunes, restarted my phone, and even checked for any updates. Nothing seems to be working. They charged the money from my card but now my songs won't download. What do I do?

    Hello Bdev15,
I would be concerned too if the songs I purchased from iTunes were not downloading to my iPhone. You have taken some great troubleshooting steps already, and thank you for providing the details of the steps you too.  I have a few additional suggestions to get it downloaded to your iPhone.
First, I recommend checking to see if the download was interrupted:
If your download was interrupted using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
From the Home screen, tap the iTunes app.
For iPhone or iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
Enter your account name and password if prompted.
Tap the blue download arrow to resume.
iTunes: How to resume interrupted iTunes Store downloads
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1725
If the songs still do not download, next I recommend downloading the songs when connected to another network.  For example, if you are using the cellular network, you could switch to Wi-Fi, or you could try an alternate Wi-Fi network.  Follow the steps in the section titled "iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch > Music" in the article below to download the songs:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
If you are still not able to download the songs, you can report an issue with these purchases using the steps in this article:
How to report an issue with your iTunes Store, App Store, Mac App Store, or iBookstore purchase

How long ago did you add the episode? Sometimes it takes iTunes a couple of days (or even a week) to update your listing. As long as you are able to download the newest episode, all of your subscribers should be getting the new stuff too. (It's just folks browsing iTunes won't see your newest of the new; once they subscribe they would get the new ones.)
I would be patient for awhile, as lots of people on this board have been reporting that iTunes has been quite slow on its updates lately. If it still isn't working after a few days, post links to your actual feed (not to the iTunes store link) and let us have a look at it.
BTW, are you aware that you have 2 listings for your "Watkis Words of Wisdom" podcast?

  • Podcast in iTunes won't download

I'm a novice at Podcasting but used iWeb and Garage Band to produce a site and podcast that works fine from the Website. However, when I submitted it to itunes and it was accepted, the link supplied won't download. I also have tried using the RSS feed from my Webpage, and that will not download either.
Any help will be most appreciated!!!

Here is the site where the podcasts will play:

Here is the info iTunes sent about the series in itunes - it shows up but won't download:
    Dear Podcast Owner
Your podcast, located at [ http://www.glynn.k12.ga.us/~pgalland/japan/japan/Site/Podcast/rss.xml ], has been approved. You should expect to see it in iTunes within the next few hours. When it's available, you will be able to access it with the URL below.

If you have questions or wish to make changes to your feed, please consult the technical spec at <http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/techspecs.html>http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/techspecs.html. The spec contains detailed information about key topics like adding "cover art", changing your feed URL, and adding other helpful iTunes-specific tags to your podcast.

OK, seems like I located the problem - sort of.  It's not the feed that's the issue, but rather the fact that I'm pushing my MP3-files through a PHP script which does some statcounting. If I access the MP3 files directly, the iTunes app downloads them OK.
So I'm guessing maybe my headers aren't exactly what the iTunes app is expencting? Here's a snippet from the PHP file which outputs the MP3 data:
    header('Content-Type: audio/mp3');
    header('Content-Length: 'filesize($location));
    @readfile($location);

  • ITunes won't download for Windows!

I am trying to download iTunes 11.0.04 on my Windows 7 32 bit.  I try to do it from the Apple Updates thing on my start menu and it says it has and invalid signature.  I go to the website and it says "thank you for downloading iTunes," but it never downloads!  The same thing happens on my Windows Vista and Windows 7 64 bit.  What do I do to download it?  I need it to sync my music onto my iPod touch.

Have you tried repairing your Apple Software Update, as per the instructions in the following user tip?
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package ..." error messages when installing iTunes for Windows

  • I just updated itunes to 10.7 version, but now itunes won't open. i have Windows Vista

    Hi:
My itunes stopped working when I installed the lates version which is 10.7. Itunes won't even come up now even when I connect my ipod. My ipod is the only device that I use with itunes. I have Windows Vista.
Please help me fix this problem! I AM NOT computer savvy, and I would prefer not to uninstall/re-install itunes and or quicktime. I have read many "solutions" on the internet, and people often say that uninstalling ect doesn't help. I just need the simplest solution because I barely know how to download music! Ha-ha!
Anyway, an answer would be appreciated, and sooner the better because I usually watch important podcasts that I am now missing.
    Thank you!

  • ITunes won't open and a Windows error message pops up

I downloaded iTunes 10.2.2.12 awhile ago.  It worked fine the first time.  Ever since then, whenever I plug in my ipod, my laptop recognizes and says it's syncing but iTunes won't open.  I double click on iTunes and I get an error message from Windows saying that an error has occurred and it needs to close iTunes but it never even opens up.  (The message doesn't give any error codes.)  I've tried completely uninstalling iTunes and all its components and then reinstalling it but I get the same error message.  I have Windows XP 2002 Home Edition SP 3.  Please help.  Thanks.

    Many thanks.
Yes, it is an "iTunes has encountered a problem" error.  The ModName: dnssd. dll        The ModVer: 2.0.5.0     Offset: 0000246c
With that one, by way of experiment, let's try disabling your Bonjour Service.
In your Start menu, right-click My Computer and select "Manage".
    Expand "Services & Applications".
Open "Services". (Perhaps maximise the screen to better see what's going on.)
Right-click the Bonjour Service and select "Properties".
In the General tab, set the Startup type to "Disabled":
    ... and click OK.
Restart the PC and try launching iTunes again. Does it launch properly this time?

  • My iphone won't download apps, just show waiting and won't download podcasts. Help!

My phone won't download any apps, just say waiting instead of loading or downloading.
Also won't download any podcasts or songs

Try Settings => Store, sign out and sign back in
Also try Settings => WiFi, toggle off/on
Try Settings => General => Reset => Reset Network Settings
(this will erase any WiFi password you had entered in previously)
Try downloading to computer's iTunes and sync to the device after that.
