ITunes won't download to my computer

ITunes was working fine until I tried to update to the latest version. When I did, things went wrong. I tried to reinstall but it would not work. I then tried to delete ITunes and even did a System Restore. Still no luck. When I try to run ITunes, a message comes up that some of the required files are missing and to reinstall ITunes. When I try to reinstall, it gets al;most all the way through the install process and a message comes up that older version of "Bonjour" cannot be removed and to contact my Technical Support Group. When I click that message off, the install keeps going for a few more steps and then suddenly stops, throwing up a box that says ITunes Installer Interrupted ..... your system has not been modified..... try again later

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

My iTunes won't update on my computer. I have windows vista. I can open up itunes and when I click on "check for updates" it asks if I want to download iTunes version 11.1.5 and I click "Download iTunes" but then nothing happens. Sometimes uptop the loading bar will appear but for only a split second. I have tried restarting, shutting down, I cannot figure out why it won't download. What's happening and how do I fix it?

Try updating using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:

  • 10.5.2  software won't download to my computer  what do i do?

10.5.2 software won't download to my computer what do i do?

Do one ore more of the following:
    > Restart You Computer
    > Uninstall & Reinstall iTunes
    > Reset your Device (won't delete anything)
    > Go to My Computer (Windows XP) OR Computer (Windows Vista & 7) and see if your computer reconizes your iPod.
    You said:
the ipod and cord are new and undamaged.
Problems like that happens. If time to the new cable to read your iPod (don't ask why). If it charges from AC, it should work on your computer.

  • My podcasts won't download from the computer to my ipod touch all of a sudden!

All of a sudden my podcasts won't download from the computer to the ipod touch anymore.  It still downloads changes in music and apps, but it just seems to be podcasts.  Can anybody help me diagnose my problem?

If they are video podcasts, they now appear in the Video app after iOS 5.

If the setting is greyed out perhaps you have restrictions enabled that would prevent someone from changing accounts. Settings>General>Restrictions>Allow Changes>Accounts.

  • My songs from iTunes won't download, I went to the downloads tap and all seven of my new songs say "download error, tap to retry" and when I tap on one a message pops up saying " this song could not be downloaded at this time". What do I do?

My songs from iTunes won't download. I recently just purchased 7 songs and they took my money but now the songs won't download to my phone. I have gone to the download screen on the iTunes app and under each song it says "download error. Tap to retry". When I tap to retry a song a message pops up saying "this song could not be downloaded at this time." And it gives me two options. Either done or retry. I have tried to download them many times. I signed out and signed back in on iTunes, restarted my phone, and even checked for any updates. Nothing seems to be working. They charged the money from my card but now my songs won't download. What do I do?

    Hello Bdev15,
I would be concerned too if the songs I purchased from iTunes were not downloading to my iPhone. You have taken some great troubleshooting steps already, and thank you for providing the details of the steps you too.  I have a few additional suggestions to get it downloaded to your iPhone.
First, I recommend checking to see if the download was interrupted:
If your download was interrupted using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
From the Home screen, tap the iTunes app.
For iPhone or iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
Enter your account name and password if prompted.
Tap the blue download arrow to resume.

If the songs still do not download, next I recommend downloading the songs when connected to another network.  For example, if you are using the cellular network, you could switch to Wi-Fi, or you could try an alternate Wi-Fi network.  Follow the steps in the section titled "iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch > Music" in the article below to download the songs:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
If you are still not able to download the songs, you can report an issue with these purchases using the steps in this article:

Leopard is no longer available at the Apple Store but may be available by calling Apple Phone Sales @ 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753).
If you can't obtain a retail install DVD from Apple, look on eBay or Google the installer part numbers to possibly find at an on-line store. Here's what to look for:
    MB427Z/A  Leopard 10.5.1 install DVD
    MB576Z/A  Leopard 10.5.4 install DVD
MB021Z/A  Leopard 10.5.6 install DVD (single user)

  • TS3212 itunes won't download because something about "mobile device not authorized?"

itunes won't download because something about "mobile device not authorized?"

    Hi buckirich,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  It sounds like you may need to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service.  This article has instructions for doing this:
How to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) on Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1567
If that doesn't resolve the issue, I would recommend trying a thorough uninstall and reinstall of iTunes as described here:

  • Itunes won't install on my computer

Itunes won't download on my comnputer. It says errors ocuured during installation. Your system has not been modified.

That has been my experience, as noted, because that terminates all extraneous things using memory, running in the bacikground, etc.
With a Windows PC I now just download and restart every time and don't bother trying to install immediately.
Glad it worked out for you.

  • New itunes won't download on my mac

The new update for itunes won't download on my mac. It says that it is not compatible with my operating system. I just want to put music on my IPHONE 5!!!!!

iTunes 10.7 or newer requires at least Mac OS X 10.6.8. If you're running Mac OS X 10.5.8 or earlier, click here and buy the DVD.
