ITunes won't finish syncing.

For the past few days since I updated the software on my mac, my itunes hasn't enabled my iphone to finish syncing.
This has now meant that the music I once had on my phone is now coming up grey with a circle next to it meaning it's not on the device anymore.
However the music that was downloaded previously from itunes is still on my device.
Can anyone give me advice in how to get my music back and to somehow get my itunes to finish syncing, it gets through all the stages and then just remains on the last one for hours before saying it can't sync it.
Help please! x

Hello Gipson93
To start the sync over, deselect the music in the Music tab and sync. Once complete, select it again to start the sync over.

  • WON'T FINISH Syncing . (error -48)or 1033, -69

Itunes WON'T FINISH SYNCING. (error -48)or 1033, -69. It hangs up on a new song each attempt. I have deleted the sticking song each failure.
    Here's what I've tried:
    A) unchecked all Recently added songs and delted skipped disc tracks, as well as
those mp3's brought over via drag n drop.
    1) updated Itunes, restored Ipod 14 times.
    2) restored ipod from PC/Itunes 12 times.
    3) updated USB drivers and uninstalled and reinstalled
    4) ran MS disk scan /repair 15 times.
    5) tried all 4 USB ports
    6) ran diagnostics and it said it couldn't find Ipod, (although in itunes margin it showed Ipod). I clicked HELP and it took me to an apple support page that had nothing to do with my particular error/ diagnositc result. OF COURSE , THAT WOULD BE TOO LOGICAL!
Diagnostics should trouble shoot this until it's fixed. No such process.
    Any help?

Bump. I am having this problem also on my 160 GB Ipod. I have restored a ton of times and have use multiple computers to load songs from (thank God for my EXT. HD) If any one can help i would greatly appreciate it. Thank You.

  • Downloaded new ios7 and new itunes 11.1 and now iphone 4 won't finish syncing - just stays on last step and never finishes or cancels on its own. Tried reinstalling itunes with no success.

Downloaded new ios7 and new itunes 11.1 and now iphone 4 won't finish syncing - just stays on last step and never finishes or cancels on its own. Tried reinstalling itunes with no success.

I have the same problem.. latest version of iTunes (11.1.5) and latest version of ios (7.1) but it gets stuck at "waiting for changes to be applied" and I can't cancel the sync manually. It doesn't cancel on it's own either (at least not the 8 hours over night that it was syncing) and if I unmount the phone then the phone keeps the sync going (the little spinning arrows in the upper left corner) and doesn't recognize that it's been disconnected..
I've tried restoring the phone (with little success, managed to get one more song on there) and syncing over wi-fi but nothing seems to work. Any thoughts, anyone?

  • IPod touch won't finish syncing on iTunes

My ipod touch won't finish syncing. it's been on step 7 of 7 forever... it's a third generation itouch and the version of itunes is 10.6, the latest version.

First, try to reset the iPod by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again.
See if you can sync after that.
Are you syncing podcasts as well? If yes, try without selecting podcasts, or delete the podcasts on the device before you sync.

  • Itunes stuck at finishing sync

    Hey guys,
Alright so here's my problem. I just bought a 7th gen ipod nano yesterday and ever since then I've been trying to sync my music to it with no success at all. The problem seems to be that every time I hit sync, it eventually gets stuck on "finishing sync" forever.
I do notice however that the spinning circle next to my device name turns into an eject button at that point and the apply or sync button on the bottom right becomes clickable again. But when I try to click the eject button while the top of my iTunes still says finishing sync, a new window pops up that just says syncing ipod with a bar going across it. That window also stays forever and the only way I can get rid of it or get back into iTunes is to end the itunes process from the task manager and repoen.
If I try hitting the apply or sync button that becomes relit, then the finishing sync problem just happens again. When I try to just pull my ipod out or exit itunes all together, the ipod says that I have no music on it. The weird part of that however is that in the "general" it says I only have 2 gb left available, even though right above it it says I have no music pictures videos etc. If I were to sync all of my music to the ipod, it should have around 2 gb left. However it is not there. This has led me to believe that all of my music has indeed been synced to the ipod, but for some reason it's just not showing up. I've tried resetting my ipod, updating itunes, etc. No luck.
I've even tried syncing 100 songs instead of 2000 songs, hoping that if I sync a little at a time it'll work. No luck.
Someone please help me this is driving me crazy!

Alright guys quick update. After I wrote this post I went back over to my ipod and guess who decided to start working lol. The ipod is now disconnected and it says that there is about 13.something gb available and that it has the 120 or so songs that I tried syncing most recently on it. But now when I look at itunes it thinks the ipod is still plugged in and is still stuck in that forever syncing loop. I just exited the itunes via the task manager. The new problem that arises is that when I try to play one of the songs that successfully made it over to my ipod, as soon as I click on it, the screen goes black, then the apple logo appears, then it brings me to the home page. No music played.
What's wrong with my ipod/itunes lol

  • ATV in Itunes won't stop syncing...

ATV still works but when Sync started this day it has been going on for an hour and won't complete sync????!!!
What's the solution? preferences? delete ATV from Itunes and reapply?

Tech support came through for me on this issue...
    Go to this link

Restart the ATV per the link instructions and run diagnostics then restart. Sync should return to normal as mine did....

  • ITunes freezes on "finishing sync."

My 4th gen iPod Touch will not get off of "finishing sync" in iTunes. It was stuck on "determining which tracks to sync" but then I changed my settings to manual sync. I'm not attempting to load much content, so it shouldn't be that type of issue. Any ideas?

Try a hard reset and go from there.

  • Itunes crashing on "finishing sync"

Whenever I try syncing my ipad to itunes (on Windows 7), itunes stalls out on the "finishing sync" If I disconnect the ipad after a long wait, the apps can not be started, the icons just "explode"
Do I need to reinstall itunes on my PC? How do I do that? Will I loose my apps, or will they transfer when I reinstall?
At least the sync gets through the back up phase. It does take a long time for itunes to "verify" my ipad, but it does...
Help! I am going through Pocket Frog withdrawal!

    Hi,
itunes stalls out on the "finishing sync" If I disconnect the ipad after a long wait, the apps can not be started, the icons just "explode"
Try troubleshooting your installed apps. With the iPad connected to your computer, launch iTunes. Select the Apps tab in the menu.
Under *Sync Apps* on the left side of the window, deselect all but three boxes. Then click the Sync button bottom right side of the window.
If you can sync those apps successfully, then try 3 more apps. Hopefully you can narrow down the app that's causing the problem.

  • Itunes stuck at "Finishing Sync" and will not close normally on Windows 8.1

I recently upgrade to Windows 8.1 and also have the latest version of Itunes (11.1.2.32)
I have uninstalled and re installed, no change. Originally I had a problem that ITunes wouldn't open without crashing but the dll file fix resolved that.
    Now I have to issues.
1: When I sync my or my wifes Ipads and iphone 5's, The sidebar will show that it has stopped syncing but Itunes it self up top is stuck at Finishing sync. I get no error if I unplug but the status up top reads "Finishing Sync"
2:When I try to close ITunes, I receive the "There are one or more applications using the sync service" Then gives me an option to wait for Itunes to close normally after 20 seconds or Quit.
Anyone know how to resolve either or both of these questions?

I copied this from https://discussions.apple.com/message/23501949#23501949.   It fixed my problem.
    Couple of things ...
While the iPhone is actually syncing, you see something like this:
       (note the spinning "syncing" wheel)
You'll notice when it's done, it seems to be hanging and you get something like this - indefinitely:
But, if you look again, you'll see the "eject" button has replaced the "syncing wheel":
So, at this point, just eject it and you're fine -- really.
And, if you don't trust that, then do this:
Go to the Music tab of iTunes and add or remove just one song or one artist or one playlist.
Then, click the Apply button in the lower right corner.
You will notice that THIS way the Sync Process finishes cleanly.
    Hope this helps!!

  • IPod Won't Finish Sync

So, today I've had to restore my iPod to factory settings about our times now. Every time I try to re-sync all my music back, it'll slow down significantly and stop around after 1700 songs or so (out of roughly 3700). When I try to eject my iPod, iTunes crashes and the files already copied do not show up on my iPod. When I reconnect to my MacBook, it shows everything I copied as "Other" and not "Music." I've tried this several times already and it still won't work.
EDIT: Make that five restores tonight.

So now I've also tried connecting it to my Windows PC and restoring it, and iTunes does the exact same thing. It locks up on one song and never finishes the sync, and crashes when I try to eject.
My iPod didn't start doing this until yesterday.

  • ITunes won't complete sync with iPhone or iPad....freezes at contacts

Using iTunes 10.5.3.3 on a Windows 7 OS to sync my iPhone 4S and iPad 2 (both with OS 5.0.1). This is my 3rd iPhone and 2nd iPad, so I'm not new to this. No problems until a few days ago. Now, both devices sit at the syncing contacts screen, and won't ever finish.
    Here's what I've tried:
obviously, restarting iTunes (as well as PC)
    restarting devices
    deleting backups
    resetting sync history
replacing contacts & calendar on next sync
(PC is up-to-date with Windows Update)
Still the same. Not only will it not complete sync, but the calendar entires are all duplicated+++ now on the devices, when they are still correct entries in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007.
This is SOOOOO frustrating. Besides wiping devices and starting again (which I don't really want to do), anyone have any suggestions?

Is your phone hacked? Have you tried restarting your computer and your iPhone? I have found that a majority of problems that happen with iPhone can be solved with a simple reset.
For iPhone to iTunes, you can refer to this page about [iPhone/iPod/iPad to computer or iTunes|http://www.softwarebbs.com/wiki/IPod/iPhone/iPadTo_Computer_Transfer_%26_Backup_SoftwareReviews].
It includes the transferring of music, photos, videos, SMS, Contact ect. between iPod/iPhone/iPad and computer(PC or Mac).

  • IPod Classic- Won't finish sync

    PLEASE HELP!!
I recently restored my IPOD CLASSIC 80G but now, when I try to sync, it works for a while before freezing and making iTunes crash so I have to force quit- This leaves NO SONGS AT ALL on my ipod
PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN! ANY SUGGESTIONS!!?

Looks like your iPod Hardisk is dying.
Do the iPod Disk Diagnostic, as posted earlier by tt2, sorry, it won't fix your problem, but helps in troubleshooting.

  • Itunes won't finish installing - Interrupted?

Everytime I install the latest itunes it stops when it's publishing product infomation then it's says it couldn't have been completed because it was interrupted and the system has not been modified! Please please someone help me!
    Nathan

Yes, run means run the install over the interenet, not good if some kind of glitch happens.
Try the Save. Put it on your PC where you can find it. When the download finished, double-click on the file to launch it.

  • Itunes won't finish install

I updated itunes but unless I restart my computer with my ipod plugged in itunes tells me I have to restart the computer for updates to take effect. I have done this so many times I have lost count. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling it but it still won't work. I'm so aggravated I'm thinking about not getting a new ipod since I need to upgrade mine. It's one of the original video ipods to come out. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

that is almost invariably caused by your SpyCatcher:
iTunes 7 or later for Windows Installation stops responding while "registering modules"
(it's best to launch itunes at least once prior to reinstalling SpyCatcher.)

  • New iTunes won't finish installing

I just tried to update to the new iTunes and right when it is about to finish the install this message comes up..
"The Installer could not validate the contents of the ‘iTunesX’ package. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
Anyone know how to fix this issue?  I read a few things saying I should go into my HD & to Receipts and delete the iTunesX package and update again but this did not work.

Do you remeber the exact (or close to it) wording of the error message?
