ITunes won't import music from iPhone to iTunes Library

I have a large Purchased playlist on my iPhone. However, none of these songs will sync to my iTunes. They are shown in my Music tab under my phone but not in my actual iTunes library. Clicking sync shows the songs greyed out in my library with the progress wheel momentarily, but then they disappear from the library - as if it cancelled the syncing to my laptop. This is just one of numerous issues I am having with iTunes. Anyone know of a fix? I've already restored my phone due to other issues I was having as of a couple days ago, and I've already deleted all my music from my phone and attempted to re-sync it, but nothing works. So many issues with this program. What gives, Apple?

Import music from iPhone to Macbook after operating system reinstall

My Macbook Pro recently crashed and I had to reinstall the operating system. I lost all the music in itunes that I had ripped from cds. However all the music is still on my iphone. Why can't I just import all the music from my iphone back to itunes on my Macbook ?
Using Lion OSX and Iphone 3gs. Haven't updated to os 5 as it says it will wipe all music from my iphone.

IPhoto (old-- version 8?) won't import photos from iPhone 5. Very buggy.

I have an old version of iPhoto that is very buggy (we have an 06 iMac, to be replaced next month). Admittedly, when I've been prompted to rebuild the cache, I don't (what does that do, anyway?). Lately, my problems have been: 1) Certain photos from my iPhone 5 continually re-import even though I check "Don't import duplicates." 2) Most concerning, photos from the past three months on my iPhone won't import to iPhoto. I get an ominous error message after iPhoto takes about an hour to go through the import process. On occassion, random photos (1 or 2) will import. Sometimes an image from a video (but not the actual video). My photos are trapped on my phone, currently not backed up. I have 1000+ photos on my iPhone, as I am sentimental and paranoid and don't want to delete them. Also--our photos are on an external hard drive. We also use TimeMachine and back up on a remote server through a service. I could live with losing everything on my Mac...but not my photos. The over 10K photos are painstackingly organized by folder and albums. Help me!!!

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download IPhoto Library Manager 4 for OS XC 10.6.8 and iPhoto 8.1.2 and later or iPhoto Library Manager 3 (for OS X 10.5.8 and iPhoto 7.1.5 and earlier) and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu (iPLM 3) or Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu (iPLM 4) option.
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

IPhoto won't import photos from iPhone

Hi - using a MBP 2.2, Leopard, iLife 08 and an 8gb iPhone. iPhoto used to import photos from the iPhone no problem - now it won't import it at all. Says it's an unreadable file (though a normal jpg).
What gives? Same issue trying to import two jpg's rec'd via email (and dragged to my desktop).
Any suggestions?

I have this problem now. I have MacOS 10.5.1, iPhoto '08, and iPhone running 1.1.2.
In my "camera roll" on the iPhone are 260 photos, all the pics I have taken since I got the phone. I imported some of them weeks ago with no problems into iPhoto. But now iPhoto can't import anything from the iPhone.
iPhoto does know there are photos on the phone, because there is set of blank thumbnail squares that I can select to import. When I look at the photo info, I can see the file name, size, date, but all the other info is missing or incorrect. It doesn't have camera maker or model. Most worrying though is the height and width of the pictures are zero.
I am thinking that there is some cache file on the phone that got corrupted somehow. Resetting to factory settings might help, but I really don't want to lose all the photos that I took from the holidays.
I've tried the above suggestions and no avail: logged out and into the .Mac account; powered down the phone; reset the iSync history (interestingly, iSync does not recognize my phone when I do a device scan).
I did try removing some stuff to make room, but still no dice.

I have a bunch of music on my iPhone and I have a new PC laptop. I just added iTunes to my laptop. When I try to Sync my music in iTunes the message comes up, "... the music on this iPhone will be deleted and replaced with the iTunes library..." There is nothing in the iTunes library, so this would be a total data loss, wiping out all the music I want to add. How do I add the music on my iPhone to my iTunes on my new laptop?

The iphone is not a storage/backup device. The sync is one way -exception itunes purchases.
You need to copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

IPhoto 11 won't import photo from iPhone 5 on new MBP

Brand new MacBookPro out of box experience -- picked up the laptop yesterday. Everything seems to work until I get to iPhoto (as usual). Plugged in my iPhone 5 and tried to import photos. Error -- Unreadable Files: 1 IMG_0434.JPG. Ok... Not sure what's wrong but when I go back to import photos there are now fewer to import. Tried again. Same error. Even fewer photos to import again. Tried to find the photo on the iPhone but despite the confusing array of presentation options there is no way to simply find one by file name. And hence no way to delete the offending photo. Or to import it.
Similarly there appear to be two movies to be imported but iPhoto reports "Error downloading image. iPhoto cannot import your photos because there was a problem downloading an image." Not helpful. And again no way to remove the offending files. No way to find them on the iPhone. No way to delete them through iPhoto.
Oh, and is there still not any way to turn off the stupid events stuff? This just causes more confusion for me when trying to enjoy my photos. Alternatively can I import photos from my iPhone using another app and move them directly to the file system and eliminate iPhoto from my workflow altogether???

Can you access these images and movies with Image Capture (in the Applications Folder) ?

Importing music from iPhone onto iTunes on another computer

ive recently moved into a new house and have no permanent computer/laptop, i've authorised my phone on 2 computers but each computer has different music on. i just want to put all the music onto one computer, how do i import the music currently on my phone to my intended iTunes?

Why hot just use your backup copy to move your music or copy them to dvd,cd, external drive,flash drive etc?
The music sync on iphone is one way - computer to iphone. The exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
Otherwise you will need to use ( at your risk) a third party program ( not supported by Apple).

IPhoto won't import videos from iPhone 6 Plus

I'm trying to import the videos from my iPhone 6 Plus into iPhoto (9.6.1). iPhoto acts like it's about to import but it gets to the end and says it can't import the videos from the iPhone because they are in an unrecognized format (.MOV)
I've never had an issue in the past, any suggestions on how to fix this?
I'm using a brand new iMac with Yosemite (10.10.2) and iPhone 6 Plus.

As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

IMac won't import photos from iPhone 6 with new Yosemite software

I have recently gotten a new iPhone 6 and have also upgraded my iPhoto and software to Yosemite. When I plugged my iPhone into my iMac, it said my phone wasn't recognized and to choose "Trust" on my phone, however, there was no place to "choose Trust." iPhoto was recognizing my iPhone and it said "locked" but now the iPhone isn't even showing up on the left side and it's not giving me any options whatsoever. I've researched this some and Apple says photo stream may be pulling pics in from my phone already but that's not the case. Help! I have lots of photos I need to upload.

The following steps may resolve your issue:
Apple TV: Basic troubleshooting

If your TV screen appears fuzzy or black (you see no video)
Make sure the television you are using supports the Apple TV resolution requirements. Please see the Apple TV technical specifications.
When you connect power, check to make sure the LED turns on. If the LED is not on, then verify with a known good power outlet or connect something else to the outlet you're using for Apple TV and make sure it works (such as a lamp or clock).
Make sure you're using the correct video cables and that they are connected firmly to Apple TV and to your TV.
Connect the HDMI cable directly into the Apple TV and your television, remove any third party devices or adapters.
Make sure the input setting you've selected on your TV matches the input you have your video cables connected to. See the documentation that came with your TV for more information.
Change the Apple TV resolution by pressing and holding the Menu and Up button for six seconds. The Apple TV will automatically cycle to the next resolution at approximately 20 second intervals. Pressing the Selectbutton will immediately cycle to the next resolution.
If you are connected via HDMI, try unplugging and replugging your HDMI cable.
If HDMI isn't working on an Apple TV (1st generation), try component cables instead (and disconnect the HDMI cable temporarily). Read more about HDMI vs component video.

Connect the iPhone to your computer and select it on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs ot tabs, one of which is Music - if you select that tab you can select which of your music to sync to the phon'e Music app

ITunes won't allow me to import music from a shared library

I Don't have an option to import music from a shared library.

Then when the shared library is in view in iTunes there should be an import option in the bottom right corner of the window.

ITunes freezes when importing music from CD and also when playing,

Just recently iTunes has started to freeze when importing music from a CD - it just stops and the progress bar remains as it it. The whole mac then freezes and I get the spinning beachball. I can't use any other application. The same thing is happening when I play music - it's ok for a song or two and then freeze and the beachball appears. I've downloaded iTunes again and reinstalled and it's just the same. Using Safari and Mail etc is no problem at the moment.
I also have a problem getting the iMac to recognise external hard drives - it won't show them on either firewire 400 or 800. I can see my 1TB drive using usb ( it shows up on the desktop, whereas on firewire it doesn't do this) but if I try to open it and see the contents in finder, it opens, but doesn't dispaly the contents of the drive. I can see the disk size but just get a grey spinning wheel in the bottom right hand of the finder window. Timemachine does not work.

I have had the same problem & itunes crashes when i try to import a file. Now i can't even start itune. I've reinstalled itunes so many times, without a fix, I've lost count.
I did post and had no reply. I'll watch this post with interest.
