I can't seem to get iTunes to install install on my PC. I've tried various versions and none get past the part where Bonjour is installed. I've followed various posts, reset install folder permissions etc, but none of this works.

If iTunes has been previously installed, I would recommend completely uninstalling iTunes and all of it's components in the order specified in the article below.  Once this is done, attempt a download and install iTunes.

I had Itunes 7, and my computer tried to update it to Itunes 9. While its downloading, it all of a sudden stops and says, "There is a problem with this windows installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." How do I fix this so I can download iTunes?

That one can indicate trouble with your Apple Software Update for Windows.

  • Itunes 10.5 won't install on my Windows 7 64 bit.

Please Help ! Ive Tried Everything i can think of
Whenever i try to update my itunes to 10.5 i get:
Can Someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me solve this problem

Yes.  Please give us something to go on other than a complete reinstall of Windows 7 (Microsoft's solution to the issue behind this cryptic error).
At least acknowledge that the issue lies with Microsoft and an error in upgrading/installing the Visual C++ 2005/2008/200x Service Pack.
A client would like to install iOS 5 from their common Lenovo X61 laptop, but iTunes 10.5 will not install.  I had to reinstall iTunes 10.4.x just to regain access to his media.

Then click on the title in section 3: Fix problems with programs that cannot be installed or uninstall
This link may get you there:  http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall/
Let it run and then try to download it again

Do you get an error message when you try to install iTunes? If so, what does it say? (Precise text, please.)

  • Itunes won't install on my windows xp pc

it saying C:\program file\Itunes\itunes.Resources\en_GB.Iprovj\GeniusDone.nib\objects.xib. verify that you have access to that directory.
How do i fix this? Please help!

If you're getting an error-message-free iTunes launch error, and the iTunes.exe is making a brief-if-any appearance in Task manager, we'd better check for a QuickTime problem.
Try updating your QuickTime Player to the most recent version. Does iTunes start launching again?

  • ITunes 9 install issues, now iTunes won't install at all. (Vista 64-bit)

I tried to upgrade to iTunes 9 today but it failed to install using the auto-update tool, so as the tool suggested, I tried going manual. It installed, but gave me the "iTunes requires a newer version of Apple Mobile Device Support." error every time I plugged in my iPod Touch, and advised me to uninstall and reinstall iTunes and the Apple Mobile Device Support.
I successfully uninstalled iTunes, though the Apple Mobile Device support is being stubborn, and seems not to uninstall properly, remaining on the list of programs in the control panel.
I tried running both the manual install file (iTunes64Setup.exe) and the extracted AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi, and neither work, even though I have the AMDS service stopped in the Services panel in the control panel. The progress bar sits for a while near the finish and then rolls back, and tells me that there was an error with the install.
    The error message says:
    iTunes installer Completed
The installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured.
Your system could not be modified. To retry these operations at another time (etc.)
    Any help would be appreciated!

There are two programs that might budge it one is the Windows cleanup program (be sure you get the one for 64 bit operating systems if that's what you're running :
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2265732&tstart=0
Or there's this one which I've also found useful but 32 bit XP only : http://www.revouninstaller.com/
You'd be doing the forced uninstall which specifically to get program left overs.
For a free 30 day trial there's also this but I haven't tested it as I have the first two : http://download.cnet.com/Total-Uninstall/3010-2096_4-11117407.html?tag=mncol

  • Itunes will not install on my windows 7 64 bit,

I have tried for the past week to install itune on my computer with windows 7 64bit, it downloads starts to install then stops and finished without installing.
Done anyone have a fix for this?

    Crikey.
These ones are tricky. But the following instructions are worth a try.
First do a complete uninstall of iTunes and related components (but don't reinstall just yet), as per the following document:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
    a. Launch regedit (Start >> Search Programs and Files >> type Regedit and open the regedit that comes up.)
    b. Access the following Location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData \S-1-5-18\Components
    c. Perform the following actions
    i. Right Click on Components Folder
    ii. Select Permissions
iii. Select Full Control and Read Permissions options
    iv. Select Advanced Button
    v. Select Owner Tab
vi. Select to Change Owner to the Administrators
vii. Check the option “Replace owner on subcontainers and objects”
viii. Select OK when prompted that it may not change all.
    ix. Select Apply
    x. Select Apply again
    xi. Exit the Registry Editor
Now try reinstalling iTunes again. Does it go in properly this time?
