Problems connecting to the iTunes Music Store often
stem from issues with the Windows firewall or a
firewall in a router, a privacy filter (such as
McAfee Internet Privacy Service or Norton Internet
Security), an antivirus/antispyware utility, or a
download accelerator. Start here:
iTunes for Windows: Overview of Music Store
Errors
for some basic tips to start isolating the cause of
the problem. What you need to do is temporarily
disable any such service and see if that fixes the
problem. If so, then if it's a firewall/Internet
filter that's causing the problem and you'll need to
set the offending service to allow iTunes to connect
to the iTunes Music Store.
Hope this helps.
so, you're saying to start isolating other things as you mentioned and see if itunes begins to work normally?

  • Itunes won't connect to the internet...HELP!

itunes won't connect to the internet everytime i try to accsess the itunes store it says there a connection error and that i need to check my connection. I know i am connected to the internet on SPRINT BROADBAND. What can i do?

I am having the same problem. Upgraded from 8.0.1 to 8.0.2 Everything worked fine before the upgrade. Since the upgrade I can connect to the internet but Itunes will not connect to the itunes store. Network is fine. There is no problem with my firewall. The problem is with upgrade to 8.0.2. I did a system restore to yesterday and itunes is back to 8.0.1 and is running fine. I tried the update again and back to the same old problem. Spent about 6 hours searching for the answer but I have found nothing. If I restore itunes back to 8.0.1 it works and connects to the itunes store. If I upgrade to 8.0.2 itunes will not connect to the itunes store.

  • I can't seem to sign into the store on my iPod and can't do anything with my account at all for iTunes

Since this morning ive been having a rough go with my iPod. The e-mail aspect of it wasn't working correctly, and still isnt. It takes a long time for it to load. Then a friend tried to message my iMessage and instead of coming to my iPod it went to my e-mail. So I decided to try and restart my iPod. That didnt help. So i went into my settings and signed out of my account and now I can't sign back in. Once again. Did not help. So I got on my computer and Thought I'd sync my iPod to my iTunes it did its normal sync routine. Didn't help. Then I tried Viewing my account on iTunes and it won't let me, I dare not sign out of my account on iTunes in case the same thing happen. It takes long to access and then tells me it has timed out. And now my iPod is having troubles with my e-mail again and told me it couldn't load my yahoo when I know it can. I'm not sure what else to do or if maybe this is an Apple update thing but it's starting to get rather annoying. I've tried everything I can think of, maybe someone can help. If you know anything about this please let me know. I would greatly appreciate it.

It means what the message says. The format of the song can't be converted to a format compatible with the iPod.
    Does it play in iTunes?
Where id the song come form?
Try deleting and reimporting into iTunes.

  • ITunes won't connect to the store, home sharing, or Cloud.

I just got an iPhone, and since I've had a touch before, I know how to use iTunes. Didn't have it on this computer, so I downloaded it, set it up, etc. Now I'm trying to sign into the iTunes store and it insists I have no internet connection. Uh, obviously I do because my browser is working fine, and I just downloaded the program itself. Specifically, it says "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. An unknown error ocurred. (-3212) Make sure your internet connection is active and try again."
Is there something I'm doing wrong? Did I download a wrong version? I'm using Windows 8, I'm running Adblock and Norton, and I have a few games on here. I'm pretty good with computers, but this is stumping me, and everything I've tried isn't working.

    maybe its norton/adblock...just guessing

  • My iTunes won't connect to the store or sync my iPod. What's wrong?!?!

It says it's syncing the iPod Touch, but it takes a really long time, and after a while, iTunes "stopped responding." I can view my iTunes account, but that's it. It says it's connecting to the store, but the loading bar starts around half-way and after a while it'll act like it finished loading, but the window is blank. HELP!!

  • After the last update my iTunes won't connect to the store

I'm not sure what happened but after my iTunes updated to version 10.5 I can't connect to the store.  I called in once and the person had me uninstall itunes and a few other things and then reinstall and it worked for a day and then iTunes updated again for some reason and once again I can't connect to the store.  Any suggestions?

Hey, I had the same problem with the itunes not connecting to the store thing, I recommend checking your firewall and stuff make sure itunes (or safari) is not blocked, if everything is ok with that (apple apps not blocked), Uninstall Itunes, safari, quicktime icloud and whatever apple app you have on your computer. and get an earlier version.... the problem in some cases? Apple Application Support on itunes 10/quicktime 7 and later, a flaw that apple has to work on I recommend downloading a earlier version of itunes

  • My iPhone 4 is stuck in recovery mode after I tried to update it, & itunes won't let me restore my phone! Help?

So after trying to update my phone to ios7, it got stuck in recovery mode. I tried plugging it into my computer and itunes, and itunes recognizes that an iphone is plugged in. TThen when I click "restore my iphone", it says on itunes that it is in the process of restoring my iphone. An apple with a loading bar would pop up on my phone and then the loading bar would fill up, and then I would get an error message on my computer saying "Could not restore iphone, Error 2117" or something along those lines. I didn't have the new itunes, so I brought my itunes up to date. Now that I have the new itunes, I tried restoring the phone again. This time, when I plug in the phone, the computer recognizes it and says that its restoring my phone, but the my iphone was still stuck on the screen for recovery mode (white usb pointing at the itunes logo). Does anyone know how I could restore my phone? :/

This reply isn't to shorty2006, that post was awhile ago. This is for everyone that updates itunes and gets an error that their phone is now in Recovery mode.
I've been researching all night and even thought about downloading several different things that were suppose to get my phone out of "Recovery" mode.  Then I thought about taking my phone to the Apple store after work tomorrow.  I then found this blog and read coltonkj's entry and tada!  I took a big breath and hit "restore".  It worked, it put me back to the page where you can select to restore the last back-up.  Shooooo!!!!
    Thank you coltonkj !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ITunes won't load all the way...Help??

My iTunes store comes up, bar loads half way, no error message. It is only the white screen. I'm on Windows 7, and I have tried reinstalling it, restoring, repairing and uninstalling completely. I'm out of ideas. Can anyone help me? I can access my account, but I can't get anywhere else. The bar just stops loading. I've tried running diagnostics, but every time I do that, iTunes becomes non-responsive.

I've tryied installing iTunes 7 like 8 different ways and it won't install all the way each time it stops at "Resigtering modules"
by any chance, do you have SpyCatcher antispyware software installed on that PC? in quite a number of these "registering modules" hangs, modules installed by SpyCatcher have been interfering with the registration of the itunes modules.
if you do have SpyCatcher, try uninstalling SpyCatcher altogether prior to an itunes install. if the itunes install then goes through properly, you can reinstall SpyCatcher afterwards.

  • When i click on the store when my itunes is open, it opens the store for a minute and then the store goes blank.  any ideas?

I am trying to access the itunes store.  When i click on store in Itunes, the store opens for a minute then goes blank.  Any ideas?

This is because the regular central Nightly channel builds is only the desktop version. The version on Nightly development channel is at 21.0a1 now actually.
You need a build that has Metro support.
    http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-elm/
Many users state they cannot get Metro version to work on 32-bit Windows anyways.
There is this running thread at mozillaZine about the Metro builds. http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=2304983

  • ITUNES WON'T LET ME BURN A CD! HELP..

I've burned CD's before, many of times, & it's worked.. but for some reason now, when I go to burn a CD, it doesn't work! The discs are blank, & it'll burn the first song of my playlist, but after that, it stops & sits there doing nothing for about 5 or 10 minutes & then it'll say "canceling disc burn this make take a few seconds." It's doing that EVERY time now! Someone please help me!

Could you post your diagnostics for us please?
In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, and click "Next".
When you get through to the final screen, click the "copy to clipboard" button and paste the diagnostics into a reply here.

  • Why does the iTunes 64 installer install into the Program Files (x86) directory and run in 32 bit mode?

I have just installed this and even tried to manually get it to install in the "Program Files" directory.  Programs installed into the "Program Files (x86)" directories are 32 bit apps.  This is where the iTunes64Setup file installs to.  Is this intended?  If so, why call it iTunes 64 bit ?  It is compatible in this mode, but iTunes actually running in 64 bit mode could drastically improve performance and processing of large libraries.
Please advise if this is a known issue or if iTunes 64 bit even exists.

The 64-bit version of iTunes is a mixture of 64-bit and 32-bit componentry. You'll also notice on your PC that some of the componentry for iTunes itself is installing in the iTunes folder in the Program files directory (such as the miniplayer). The GEAR drivers used for burning and importing are 64-bit. The iPod service is 64-bit. AMDS is 64-bit. Bonjour is partially 64-bit.
It's normal to see the itunes.exe process running as 32-bit on a 64-bit system.

  • Itunes won't connect to the store

I've re-installed iTunes but still won't connect. Check the firewall and things seem OK.

I had that happen to me more than once.
Try this: Go to Internet Explorer. Click on Tools then Internet Options. Click the Connections tab and then LAN Settings. Uncheck the Use Proxy Server for your LAN.
If that is the glitch you should then be able to go to the iTunes store.
Sometimes if you can't get to the iTunes store, trying a little bit later is successful.
    Good luck.

  • Itunes won't let me access my account! HELP!!!!

I updated Itunes and when I went to login, it posted an error saying, "We could not complete your Itunes Store request. A secure network connection could not be established. Check that your computers' time and date are correct and try again."
I checked the time and date and they are correct. What else can I do? Help!!

Is your connection to the internet working? This sometimes happens to me when I am away from the internet. It seems like iTunes cannot get access to your internet.

  • ITunes can't connect to the store

Hi everyone! It's since a couple of weeks ago that I have trouble connecting to the iTunes Store from my iTunes. I had the latest version of iTunes 10, and it worked all just fine. Then all of a sudden one day, for no evident reason, it says it can't connect to iTunes Store, because the internet connection isn't active, but in fact the connection works! Also, I can't access my account from iTunes, but I can listen to radio stations!! And when I run the Diagnostics for the network connection, I get only the third dot red, where it says it failed the "safe connection to iTunes Store".
So I make a test, I try to connect to iTunes Store from my iPod Touch, using the very same internet wi-fi connection I use for my pc. And guess what? It works perfectly! This makes me think the trouble is in my computer then. So I check the guide and I update my OS (Windows XP 32 bit, with SP3), with no results.
I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, with no results. The last thing I tried was the downgrade to iTunes 9, with the only difference that now when I run the Network Diagnostics, it gives me all the green dots, but still iTunes won't connect to the store!
I really don't know what to do anymore... If someone could please help me, I would be very grateful! Thank you very much in advance for your attention.
    Cesco87xxx
