ITunes won't let me keep my album tracklists in the order that I want them

Here's what I mean. The other day, I imported The stone Roses into iTunes using my friends CD. I couldn't import song 9 because the disc is heavily scratched and it won't copy. I bought the song online and imported it into iTunes. The problem is, it's appearing in a duplicate album, all by itself. I now have two albums titled The Stone Roses in my library, one with just song 9 and the other with all the rest. The thing is, I CAN'T seem to be able to shift 9 into the other album. All the information is identikit to the other 10 songs. Same album name, genre, disc number information, track number information, BPM information, it's all the same. But 9 will not move. Why not?
Second, I have Trainspotting CD1 and imported it into iTunes. There are some songs off CD2 that I like so I want to put them with the CD1 songs. One was Heaven 17, Temptation, which I bought from the Music Store. I changed it's info and aligned it with the other Trainspotting songs. I had to change all the track number infos because there are no 15 songs in the album instead of 14. Yesterday, I bought another song, Dark and Long by Underworld, and tried to link it with Traisnspotting CD1. It will not link properly. It appears in the album, yes. But I can't get it to be song number 10 like I want. It just goes to 4 and to boot, pushes up song 8, Sing, to position 5 as well, for some strange reason.
Basically, why won't iTunes let me order songs THE WAY I WANT THEM ORDERED!?!?!? How do I correct this?????

Thing is, they can look identical but not be. When she said "_" she was highlighting an extra speca at the end of the name.
Do this:
Click on the first track.
Shift+Click on the last track. This should highlight all thetracks in between.
Right Click and choose Get Info.
Either the Artist field or the Album field will look blank. This is the one that needs adjusting. Enter the appropriate info and save.
If both fields are empty, enter the proper artist and album info. Save
Now you should have only one entry for that album.

  • TS3274 How can I keep my items on 'Reminders' in the order that I enter them?

...they won't stay in the place that I put them.

You sure shouldn't have to do anything special. And I assume that you mean they don't stay in the order that you type them or arrange them afterward.
I can't think of any reason why they would be jumping out of order, and really can't think of what to do to correct it, so try something really simple and basic. Close the reminders app and reboot the iPad.
Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • ITunes won't let me buy this album?

So i got an iTunes for Christmas and i have 15 dollars in my account and when i try to buy a 14.99 dollar album it keeps saying that 'insufficient credit remains' and asks me for a credit card and i'm trying to buy it with my gift card but it won't let me. HELP???!?!!?!

That is becaue it appears that your local charges sales tax. The purchase price listed by Apple does not include any loca taxes.

  • ITunes won't let me upgrade an album to iTunes Plus

So I went into itunes plus and it showed all of my songs and albums that could be upgraded. I chose an album and it took me to the album page, but there was no button to upgrade my CD, just a "buy album" button. Where do I go to upgrade my CD?

When all you have todo when you reach your limit of burns is
to take oneof those cd's and import it on window's media
player and it will bypass the copy limit.
Doing this severely degrades the sound quality, which wasn't all that great to begin with. Anyone with semi-decent stereo equipment (or decent headphones, i.e. not the crappy ones that Apple gave you with your iPod) can hear a HUGE difference between 128 kbps and 256 kbps.
It is highly unlikely that there is an army of people out there who want to burn more than five CDR copies of their iTunes tracks. If that were the case, these people would have just bought the actual CD, which doesn't cost THAT much more, has no copy restrictions, and sounds far better than an iTunes download, even at 256 kbps. In fact, it's highly unlikely that even a third of the tracks that get sold through iTunes end up on a CDR at all. If you have an iPod and a $5 audio cable from Radio Shack, there's just no point in burning a CDR.
But whatever. The point you're getting across is that you can't hear the difference between full-quality CD audio, a 128 kbps iTunes track, and a 256 kbps iTunes track. Congratulations, you're a cheap date. A lot of people can hear a significant difference, hence the unbridled excitement.

  • My iTunes won't let me change my album art

I have uploaded some home made songs into itunes and it doesn't let me change the album art. I can click it and tick the box and press ok but nothing happens. someone please help me, I am very annoyed by this.

Can't help you there. My iTunes is actually deleting artwork and shoving genre, album name, artist, and song title all into the same space. And the iPod keeps it that way for all eternity.

  • ITunes won't let me access my account and says "the store is temporarily unavailable"

I have just got my MacBook Pro Late 2011 back from the shop after having a SSD drive fitted inplace of my optical drive and then all the OS put on to this. I had to reinstall Lion and then redownload mountain lion and install that and then Mavericks was released and I have just updated to that. Now running OS X 10.9
Everything is working fine apart from iTunes (11.1.2) it seems. I want to download all my previous purchases from the cloud but when I try and do this a pop up mesage appears saying "The iTunes store is temporarily unavaible". I am able to navigatethe store and look at apps but I just can't downlaod anything. Also when I click on my acount ID to view it that also brings up the same message.
Please excuse me if the iTunes store is actually down but I can't seem to find anyone saying the same today and I am sure it's something I have done after reinstalling all my OS.
    Thanks for your help guys.

Me too. Tried all of the usual suggestions; reset cache, reset warnings, messed with the hosts files, everything,
Still can't connect to the store, all I'm trying to do is download all the album artwork for my albums...
EDIT: Exactly the same situation too, Macbook pro with SSD in an optibay and HDD in its usual place. Upgraded to mavericks as part of my SSD upgrade

  • ITunes won't let me drag songs from song list... trying to put them into a playlist.

When I click on a song, or select the whole list, and try to drag them toward the new playlist I created, nothing happens.  They don't drag.  I think my original itunes folder on my computer was messed up by one of my young children.  I haven't used itunes on this computer yet, this was my first time adding songs and when it didn't work I deleted the app and then reinstalled it from the apple website.
I truly appreciate anyone's help... High School Volleyball starts tomorrow and guess who has to burn a CD to rock the gym

You can only populate a smart playlist using the playlist's settings since that's what makes it smart.

  • So when I first got my phone I had kik and tumblr on it but when I tried to update it my phone just deleted the apps . Now when I try to re install them it won't let me and has a box in the corner that says 17  Ireset my phone, deleted all my apps plz help

I reset my phone , made a new account even deleted all my apps but nothing works . How do I remove the restrictions if any for the 17+ apps ? Pleasee help !

It's set in Settings/General/Restrictions. You will need the Restrictions passcode to access the setting. Presumably someone placed the restriction on your phone. You need to talk to whomever set the restriction if it wasn't you.

  • ITunes won't let me edit album/ track info

Just added some albums to iTunes library but some tracks are missing and have been
Put into another album, can't change the track info iTunes won't let me, what am I doing wrong?

Song files can sometimes have their Read Only status activated when moving from disk to disk. In iTunes, select one song giving your trouble, and press Ctrl-R. Right-click the file, and choose Properties. Read Only is probably checkmarked.
You don't need to uncheck each file individually. You can right-click on your My Music folder and opt to remove the checkmark on all items it contains with one click.

how to update Ipad 2 from IOS 4.3.5 to IOS 5? Itunes won't let me do it because it keeps showing error messages asking me to check if my network is active.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 7.1.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.
You can no longer update to iOS 6.x, or down grade the iOS.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and antivirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 7.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
Tip 2 - If you're updating via wifi, place your iPad close to your router to preclude getting a corrupted download.
How to Upgrade to iOS 7
The iOS 7.0 update requires around 2.5 GB of storage space, so if your iPad is almost full, you may need to clear up some space. You can check your available space in Settings -> General -> Usage.
There are two ways to upgrade to iOS 7: You can use your Wi-Fi connection, or you can connect your iPad to your PC and update through iTunes. We'll go over each method.
    To upgrade using Wi-Fi:
Note: If your iPad's battery is under 50%, you will want to plug it into your charger while performing the update.
    Go into the iPad's Settings.
Locate and tap "General" from the menu on the left.
The second option from the top is "Software Update". Tap this to move into the update settings.
Tap "Download and Install". This will start the upgrade, which will take several minutes and will reboot your iPad during the process. If the Download and Install button is grayed out, trying clearing up some space. The space required by the update is mostly temporary, so you should gain most of it back after iOS 7 is installed.
Once the update is installed, you may have to run through the initial steps of setting up your iPad again. This is to account for new features and settings.
    To upgrade using iTunes:
First, connect your iPad to your PC or Mac using the cable provided when you purchased your device. This will allow iTunes to communicate with your iPad.
You will also need the latest version of iTunes. Don't worry, you will be prompted to download the latest version when you launch iTunes. Once it installs, you may be asked to setup iCloud by logging into your iTunes account. If you have a Mac, you may be prompted on whether or not you want to enable the Find my Mac feature.
Now you are ready to begin the process:
If you upgraded iTunes earlier, go ahead and launch it. (For many, it will launch automatically when you plug in your iPad.)
Once iTunes is launched, it should automatically detect that a new version of the operating system exists and prompt you to upgrade to it. Choose Cancel. Before updating, you will want to manually sync your iPad to make sure everything is up to date.
After canceling the dialog box, iTunes should automatically sync with your iPad.
If iTunes doesn't automatically sync, you can manually do it by selecting your iPad within iTunes, clicking on the File menu and choosing Sync iPad from the list.
After your iPad has been synced to iTunes, select your iPad within iTunes. You can find it on the left side menu under Devices.
From the iPad screen, click on the Update button.
After verifying that you want to update your iPad, the process will begin. It takes a few minutes to update the operating system during which time your iPad may reboot a few times.
After updating, you may be asked a few questions when your device finally boots back up. This is to account for new settings and features.
     Cheers, Tom

  • I am trying to change my country but iTunes won't let me

iTunes won't let me buy from my original country as the credit card is invalid in that country.  When I try to change the country it keeps reverting back to the original country.  How do I change the country without opening a new iTunes account?

To buy items from an iTunes Store in another country you must have a valid credit card drawn on a local bank, and an address in the host country.

  • ITunes won't let me import songs from folders

hey for some reason iTunes won't let me import some songs, but it will others. I've checked and there is no difference between the songs, they're both MP3's, they have the same quality and they're even by the same artist!
Any ideas why and how I can fix it are helpful.

I having the same problem. I noticed that some videos were missing from my itunes TV Shows playlist. Also, when I tried downloading a file into my ipod, I got an error message stating that the file was not compatiable with my iPod. Only I got the file from iTunes! I've tried deleting everything and reloading with the same results. It will not upload several files. Most of which are already AAC. I've tried adding, importing, and copy and paste with all resulting in failure.
This is becoming a total pain in the rear. If it's not one thing, it's another. I mean every since iTunes 7, the bugs keep mounting, and that before I switch to a Vista OS.
