ITunes won't let me purcahse songs!!!!!

And no I am not upgrading to iTunes 8 as I have heard that some people aren't able to do it in that version too. I heard it was some bug or glitch in their servers! When will it get fixed? When will I be able to purchase albums and songs again?

It would help us if you could give us more details. What exactly happens when you try to purchase music from the iTunes Store? Are you certain your payment information is correct? Open iTunes, select iTunes Store then click your account on the right side of the iTunes window. Click the Edit Account Info and verify your account info is correct.
Make sure your computer is authorized to purchase music: To authorize a computer to play iTunes Store purchases, choose Store > Authorize Computer.
Run Disk Utility (Applications/Utilities) and Repair Disk Permissions.

ITunes won't let me import songs from folders

hey for some reason iTunes won't let me import some songs, but it will others. I've checked and there is no difference between the songs, they're both MP3's, they have the same quality and they're even by the same artist!
Any ideas why and how I can fix it are helpful.

I having the same problem. I noticed that some videos were missing from my itunes TV Shows playlist. Also, when I tried downloading a file into my ipod, I got an error message stating that the file was not compatiable with my iPod. Only I got the file from iTunes! I've tried deleting everything and reloading with the same results. It will not upload several files. Most of which are already AAC. I've tried adding, importing, and copy and paste with all resulting in failure.
This is becoming a total pain in the rear. If it's not one thing, it's another. I mean every since iTunes 7, the bugs keep mounting, and that before I switch to a Vista OS.

iTunes used to let me transfer songs fine, but now it transfers a few and then tells me the file is "corrupt" and that the disc "cannot be read from or written to." Please help -- restoring the iPod hasn't worked at all!

I try to click to buy something and itunes won't let me buy it, no messages pop up, it just does nothing. I click and click and click, and nothing happens.

I too had this problem after I redeemed two $50 gift cards. I solved the problem by uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it. Give it a try.

ITunes won't let me edit songs

when i try to edit a song in itunes, everything is greyed out and won't let me change anything. When i run the program as administrator i can (BTW i am an administrator on this computer) but its a hassle having to do this everytime i open itunes + it doesn't show what i'm listening to in MSN. This obviusly wasn't a problem when i had XP. How do i fix this?

I've already tried that to no avail. And the weird thing is, some i can edit and some i cannot.
I was looking at another folder, where I have other music and the permissions for the folder for "Users (AdelynMAIN\Users) doesn't have modify or write check marked but i can edit music in that folder. The one in the main music folder everything is checked for "Users (AdelynMAIN\Users)" and it doesn't work...
Now if i move a .mp3 from the main to the other folder, everything is still greyed out.

iTunes only lets you move items purchased from the iTunes Store from an i-device to a computer. You can copy anything the other way.

ITunes won't let me take songs off iPod

The library screen on iTunes shows my iPod listed in the source box. However, when I click on my iPod the screen won't let me open up, erase, export etc. songs from there. All the songs are muted gray and can't be activated by clicking on them.

The songs are "greyed out" because you have the iPod set to transfer songs automatically. If you want the songs to be bold and selectable/editable, then you need to change to manually managing your songs.
Please not that by editing/changing/deleting the songs on your iPod in this manner, the changes will not affect the songs in iTunes, only on your iPod.

ITunes won't let me play songs I purchased

I am trying to play music in my iTunes that I had purchased via my AOL account, and iTunes will not let me play them. The screen comes up to sign in with my member ID and it will not let me access the song. Prior to today, I never had this problem as I got rid of AOL and now have a new Apple Id. Does anyone know why itunes is not letting me play prior songs that I purchased from another account?

I'm having the same problem. I had an earthlink account ages ago, and made my first purchases with this account. Now I can't play any of the music I purchased with that old account - according to my last iPod update, that's 86 songs, and I really don't want to type in my new authorization info 86 times.
My earthlink account has been dead for years. This issue just showed up. I think it may be related to the iTunes 7.x upgrade.
Can someone please tell us how to tell iTunes to authorize all purchases made with an old account? Requiring us to re-authorize one song at a time is amateur. I expect more from Apple.

I want to edit the song infomation. but when i go to Get info and the folder where the artist, album, track numbers, etc. it won't let me change any of that. how do i get rid of this because i can't manage any of my music

Make sure they are not read-only. You might also need to take ownership and full control in vista permissions.

ITunes won't let me change song information and hangs up...

Using an 2010 iMac and iTunes 11.x I tried to change some song information as I did it for several years and iTunes versions.
Now it seems to be an installation error and the program hangs up if I try to open the information pop up.
The music plays on but nothing else can be done as to quit iTunes (hard quit).
A reinstallation doesn't had any impact, but I was not able to deinstall iTunes first (error message: ...this program is part of OS X and cannot be deleted...)
I also checked the hard disk and the right management, everything seems to be fine.
Has anybody an idea how to get iTunes de- and reinstalled completely?
I did not find an guide for that.

The other file that it could be is the iTunes library file.. The problem is. This containes all of your playlists, file locations, library info and various other things.
So we cant simply remove it and let the OS write a new fresh one like the other file.
What you would have to do is remove your entire library of itunes, delete the library file and reimport your music again, which will, in turn delete your playlists.
Are you on a Windows computer or a Mac?

Itunes won't let me play songs from search results

Hi, I'm hoping someone can please help me out. Since I updated itunes on Windows 7 I have been unable to play any songs which come in as results when using the search feature. This means I need to manually search through the library to find individual songs. I've since updated it again to 11.1.3 and it's not resolved it. Any help will be gratefully received. Thanks!

I have this same problem, however, my search feature consistently works as long as I do not input more than one character. For example: if I search for "ani" it finds Ani Difranco but I won't be able to click any of the search results. If I search for "a" I will receive search results that are clickable. I am also running the latest iTunes version and cannot resolve this issue.

My iTunes won't let me play songs from my iPod saying I am unauthorized...

...I had to replace my Macbook Pro, I now have a new one. When I plug in my iPod it says it can't upload the songs because I am not authorized and I need to go to store > authorize. I did, 5 times and it said it was successful, I am only on 2 out of 5. But my iPod still says I am not authorized to play the songs on my new computer! Please help, i want my songs back.

The easiest way I think is to use Music Rescue and take the tracks from your iPod to a folder your new computer (or an external HD) and then import them to iTunes on the new computer manually. Once the tracks are in iTunes then reconfigure the iPod to the new computer.
Apple doesn't make an easy way to do this within the Apple equipment for security reasons and as you probably already know, an iPod is linked to the computer that you use to update or charge the battery and the only way to recharge the iPod independent of the linked computer is to use a wall charger or the like.

Itunes won't let me import songs anymore

When i first got my ipod and itunes it was all good. I had imported over a thousand song on my ipod. Now whenever I try to import a song from a cd or already on my computer an error comes up saying "An unkown error occured [-223]". I have tried updating the itunes and uninstalling and reinstalling it. no dice. Is there any hope for me?

MY itunes is telling me I have to authorize my computer to play some songs. Then it tells me it is already authorized but still wont play the song how do I fix this so it will play the songs and stop repeating it self?
