Itunes won't let me restore my Ipad 2? error code (6)
My Ipad isn't even going to the home screen it just shows the screen where it tells you to plug it into itunes. When i do plug it into itunes it tells me I have to restore the ipad for me to use it. So i do so and it completes restoring it, until right at the end and then it comes up with an error saying an unknown error has occured (6). What shall i do?!?!

You need to restore using the computer you previouisly synced with, otherwise you'll be asked for the passcode.
You didn't forget your passcode (that you use every day) AND lose the computer you sync with on the same day, right? In that case, get the passcode from the phone's actual owner, or use recovery mode. -

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

So after trying to update my phone to ios7, it got stuck in recovery mode. I tried plugging it into my computer and itunes, and itunes recognizes that an iphone is plugged in. TThen when I click "restore my iphone", it says on itunes that it is in the process of restoring my iphone. An apple with a loading bar would pop up on my phone and then the loading bar would fill up, and then I would get an error message on my computer saying "Could not restore iphone, Error 2117" or something along those lines. I didn't have the new itunes, so I brought my itunes up to date. Now that I have the new itunes, I tried restoring the phone again. This time, when I plug in the phone, the computer recognizes it and says that its restoring my phone, but the my iphone was still stuck on the screen for recovery mode (white usb pointing at the itunes logo). Does anyone know how I could restore my phone? :/
This reply isn't to shorty2006, that post was awhile ago. This is for everyone that updates itunes and gets an error that their phone is now in Recovery mode.
I've been researching all night and even thought about downloading several different things that were suppose to get my phone out of "Recovery" mode. Then I thought about taking my phone to the Apple store after work tomorrow. I then found this blog and read coltonkj's entry and tada! I took a big breath and hit "restore". It worked, it put me back to the page where you can select to restore the last back-up. Shooooo!!!!

My iPhone got pretty wet so I put it in rice for like 3 days, I'd check it every day. But it still wouldn't turn on so I just went and tried plugging in the charger and it turned on but for some reason it only turns on/works when it's plugged in + it only stays on for a matter of minutes then restarts and keeps doing the same thing so I decided to put in recovery mode to restore it but turns out whenever I try to restore iTunes does recognize my phone but it doesn't work, my phone just flashes a white screen for like a second and then restarts but never completes restoring and then a little tab pops up on iTunes telling me the iPhone can't be restored because an error occured (21). Someone please help me, I've only had this phone for a while and it already got ruined + I've been trying everything to fix it.
You can keep trying to restore, but it's futile. Water and electronics don't mix. You fried your phone.

If you are getting a specific error message, what is it?
Here are some things that you can try.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try again.
You can also reboot your router by unplugging it from power for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again. -

I need to know all the questions below. I had to restore my computer to original state and now even if I sign on it won't let me sync my ipad or iphone. the message is that it is synced to another library and it could wipe out my data on the ipad. Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help
You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

I synced my iPhone 4, but it keeps getting the red exclamation points and an error message when I try to download the latest software. And, it won't let me restore the phone without the latest software. I'm stuck.
Then, this morning, the phone locked up completely. I got it to turn off finally, by holding down the power button and home button at the same time for more than 10 seconds. But still no luck with the software download.
It's Thanksgiving, and can't go to Apple.
My phone is my only telephone (no home phone), and I use it to keep track of two email addresses (personal and work). So I'm anxious to have it fully operational.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.

How to Upgrade to iOS 7
The iOS 7.0 update requires around 2.5 GB of storage space, so if your iPad is almost full, you may need to clear up some space. You can check your available space in Settings -> General -> Usage.
There are two ways to upgrade to iOS 7: You can use your Wi-Fi connection, or you can connect your iPad to your PC and update through iTunes. We'll go over each method.
To upgrade using Wi-Fi:
Note: If your iPad's battery is under 50%, you will want to plug it into your charger while performing the update.
Go into the iPad's Settings.
Locate and tap "General" from the menu on the left.
The second option from the top is "Software Update". Tap this to move into the update settings.
Tap "Download and Install". This will start the upgrade, which will take several minutes and will reboot your iPad during the process. If the Download and Install button is grayed out, trying clearing up some space. The space required by the update is mostly temporary, so you should gain most of it back after iOS 7 is installed.
Once the update is installed, you may have to run through the initial steps of setting up your iPad again. This is to account for new features and settings.
To upgrade using iTunes:
First, connect your iPad to your PC or Mac using the cable provided when you purchased your device. This will allow iTunes to communicate with your iPad.
You will also need the latest version of iTunes. Don't worry, you will be prompted to download the latest version when you launch iTunes. Once it installs, you may be asked to setup iCloud by logging into your iTunes account. If you have a Mac, you may be prompted on whether or not you want to enable the Find my Mac feature.
Now you are ready to begin the process:
If you upgraded iTunes earlier, go ahead and launch it. (For many, it will launch automatically when you plug in your iPad.)
Once iTunes is launched, it should automatically detect that a new version of the operating system exists and prompt you to upgrade to it. Choose Cancel. Before updating, you will want to manually sync your iPad to make sure everything is up to date.
After canceling the dialog box, iTunes should automatically sync with your iPad.
If iTunes doesn't automatically sync, you can manually do it by selecting your iPad within iTunes, clicking on the File menu and choosing Sync iPad from the list.
After your iPad has been synced to iTunes, select your iPad within iTunes. You can find it on the left side menu under Devices.
From the iPad screen, click on the Update button.
After verifying that you want to update your iPad, the process will begin. It takes a few minutes to update the operating system during which time your iPad may reboot a few times.
After updating, you may be asked a few questions when your device finally boots back up. This is to account for new settings and features.

iTunes will not let me synch my iPad or iPhone with this computer because it states it cannot be authorized. When I try to authorize it iTunes says that I already have computers authorized. But when I go in to my account it syays that only 4 computers are authorized and that this computer is one that is already authorized. How do I fix this please?
3194 error is often due to Apple being blocked from signing and verifying your firmware through iTunes. Check on your computer by searching for "Hosts". Open your Hosts file with a Word Processing Program. If your Hosts file contains any lines with gs.apple.com, they have to be removed, the entire line with the numbers too. If you do not have gs.apple.com then this is not the problem. A normal Hosts file will not have gs.apple.com in it.
