ITunes won't let me transfer some of my music to my iphone

Hopefully someone can help me with this issue: I have recently had to rebuild my entire library (lesson learnt:always do a back up), however since doing that back up my iTunes has decided to pick and choose what I can put on my iPhone.  For example: I had an album on the phone that had no artwork so i wanted to transfer the new version with the artwork but iTunes won't sync it with the phone yet it did for other albums. All my music is working fine in iTunes.
I have the 'Manage Music Manually' box ticked and have always done that with my phone and iPod but now I'm running into problems.
Both my iTunes and iPhone are up to date.
P.S. My OS on mt laptop is Windows 7
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help

LadyLaRee, I can understand how losing contacts can be frustrating! First, which Android do you have? If you have numbers from Facebook, those cannot be edited because the information is coming from the user's Facebook profile. Also, your contacts from Yahoo may only have the email address which is why it is showing that way. They would need to update the number on their profile. The settings will vary by phone, but if you open your contacts, press the Menu button, you will normally have options for View or something similar. You can select which contact groups you want to show or not. Verify which options are checked. You can deselect Facebook or Yahoo if you choose. You will also have an option to only display contacts with phone numbers.

  • HT204074 iTunes won't let me transfer some of my music

So I have music that I purchased on my iPhone and I want to transfer it to my iTunes on my computer. It will transfer almost all of my music, except about three albums. It keeps saying I need to authorize my computer, however it is already authorized.
I've already tried deauthorized and re-authorizing my computer and it still hasn't worked
    Any help would be awesome!
    Thanks

    Hello there, hey33brittany.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great recommendations for the issue you're describing:
iTunes repeatedly prompts to authorize computer to play iTunes Store purchases
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389
Although all of the scenarios may be applicable, many folks find that the following section helps resolve their issue most often:
Authorize using the correct account name
The items you're trying to play might have been purchased using a different iTunes Store account. To determine which account was used to purchase an item, follow these steps:
Select a purchased song in your library and choose File > Get Info.
Click the Summary tab. Note the Account Name that appears in the list. This is the account name (Apple ID) you'll need to use when authorizing your computer to play this purchase.
Note: The account name that appears is the one you used when purchasing the item and does not change if the account name (Apple ID) changes.
If you've authorized the Apple ID that is shown in the Summary tab, you can check the purchase history for that Apple ID from Store > View My Account. If your purchase history does not reflect the purchase of the items in your iTunes library, consider any other Apple ID you may have created, and authorize the computer for your additional Apple ID.
If you forgot the password to one of your accounts, you can recover it using Apple's password-recovery website.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • Itunes won't let me transfer new music to my iPhone 4S

I recently had an issue with Filevault and unfortunately had to have my Macbook Pro wiped clean. I have yet to transfer all of my old files from my external hard drive back on to my computer, but since then have downloaded some new music. I have been trying to sync my iPhone 4S with my computer in order to transfer music on to my phone through iTunes for the past few days and it just won't let me. I have tried troubleshooting using a few websites, and have made sure that allowing iTunes to automatically sync when I plug in my iPhone through a USB port is checked. I really would like to put new music on my phone. Please help!

    Hi there elliephantttt!
Sometimes the most reliable way to sync your phone with your computer will be through a manual sync. You can set up your computer to manage your phone this way by following the steps in this article:

Hope that helps you sync with your computer! Thanks for coming to the Apple Support Communities!

  • ITunes won't let me sync some of my albums to my ipad

So, I manually sync my first gen ipad, and I was wondering why I have not been able to sync some of my music over. It is a couple of albums that were on my computer, but not from/on itunes. Added them to my library, and when I tried dragging them over to my ipad under devices, it acts for a second like it's doing something (beside "ipad", the little loading animation that swirls around pops up, but not for long) and my syncing screen doesn't show up on the ipad. No music was moved over, but yet when I look at itunes on my pc and at the music i tried to sync, every single song that I tried moving over is greyed out and has a small symbol like a refresh symbol beside it (two arrows chasing eachother in a circle, not animated.) please help, thanks!

Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for the iPod Photo Cache.
Trash it. Start iPhoto and try sync again.

  • My iTunes won't let me add or remove my music or playlists from my iPhone?

I recently got an iPhone and have downloaded my music from one computer and stuff, but now I have a laptop I can use for my iTunes. I've authorized my apple ID with the computer, but it's still not letting me add or remove things to/from my iPhone. I've looked everywhere and tried everything for a solution but I just can't figure it out. I don't want to lose all the music and stuff that's already on my phone because it would be even more of a hassle to have to re-add all of that. I've tried using the original computer it was synced with instead but i don't have anything i want to transfer on that particular computer. Even so, the music and stuff will say it's transferring but never really does. Can anyone help me? It's rather annoying that no one on the internet seems to have any kind of helpful solution.

    Hi skipper8290,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  It sounds like you're syncing with a new computer and would benefit from moving your content from the previous computer to your current one.  This article has information on how to accomplish that:
iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
Keep in mind since this is a new computer for the device, it will need to do a complete sync the first time, removing previously synced content.
    Cheers,
    - Ari

  • Hi I've purchased music but itunes won't let me transfer it to my iphone. This has happened since the last update and is happening to my brothers iphone also on his laptop. any suggestions?

    HI there,
my laptop recenty went kaput and needed a new hardrive which was installed. When I got it back I downloaded itunes again and then bought some music. I connected my iphone and it would not allow me to transfer the music over to the iphone at all. It allowed me to pull all the music on my phone over to the itunes list which I realised at that point did have my usual music list on it. I can't seem to transfer any music purchased over to my iphone for love or money. This is happening to my brother on his itunes account also and he said it's happened since the last update on his. Any suggestions - I'm quite desperate as this is driving me nuts.
    Many thanks,
    Sarah

    Plug in phone to computer.
in iTunes click on your device and then Music Tab.
Deselect the playlist in question, and click sync
    Try your sync again

  • ITunes won't let me transfer apps from my PC to my iPod touch, how do I fix this?

I paid for several apps on my Windows PC and iTunes isn't allowing me to transfer my purchases onto my iPod Touch (iOS 5.1.1), the red symbol telling me it's not possible to transfer my purchase appears every time I attempt to add an app to my iPod, regardless of the app (has been tested on a number of apps, not including the ones I wish to transfer).
Has this happened to anyone else? Could anyone shed some light on the situation and help me in fixing this problem, please?

Are you trying to manual add apps over to the device?  If so, that's not possible, as they can only be synced. See this article for more information and assistance on syncing apps to your iPod from iTunes.

Also check to make sure restrictions having been enabled for installing Apps.  To check, head to Settings -> General -> Restrictions.

  • ITunes won't let me transfer all of the songs on my iPod to my library!

Okay, I have had an iTunes account & iPod on a desktop computer for the past 3 years that my parents set up. (I get a monthly allowance that's linked to my parent's credit card.) I just downloaded iTunes onto my new laptop (this computer), and followed instructions to transfer my music from my iPod to my laptop library. It only worked for about half of my songs, and told me that this computer (the laptop) was not authorized to play the songs that had not transferred. I re-authorized the computer, to no avail. Anyone able to help?
(Also, on my iTunes display, there is no "shopping cart", just "store" and "purchased". Why is this?)

  • Itunes won't let me transfer tunes to my iPod touch

Itunes has stopped transferring music to my iPod touch even though I have enough room on it . I can still transfer to my ipad though , this has been going on fro two weeks and is very frustrating . I have uninstalled itunes and reinstalled it several times but it makes no difference . I am using windows 7 . Sometimes on start up I get a message which tells me that itunes is not communicating with my ipod properly and gives me an option to try and fix it but even though I press ok , nothing changes . Please help I am going stark staring mad

    - Try another cable unless the other device works OK witht he same cable
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Itunes won't let me download some songs without 7.6.2

When i attempt to download some songs, i get a message "You must download version 7.6.2." I download it, restart the computer and it still does it! I don't know what else to do. Other songs i download with no problem. I'm running windows xp.

Go to Help->About iTunes and determine what version of iTunes you are actually running.
If it isn't 7.6.2, you are not installing it correctly.
If it is 7.6.2, I would recommend contacting iTunes support.

  • Itunes won't let me select/drag or play music?

I just recently had to delete my old computer account because a virus infected it so I made a new computer account and I re-uploaded my songs to itunes by connected my ipod and clicking "transfer purchases". But now the songs won't play. I can't click on them because the words are lick faded. You know how if you can't click something the print is gray not black? That's what it looks like.
Here's a link but I don't know if you'll be able to see it on this site:
    http://s852.photobucket.com/albums/ab90/Animatrixette16/?action=view&current=unt itled.jpg
I have back up CD's with most of the songs, so should I re upload with those?
Also I have some songs that I downloaded, and they showed up on my computer account's itunes and they played but the new accounts itunes doesn't play or show the mp3's.
Oh and If you need the model of the ipod, I have an ipod shuffle but it doesn't have a voice over, So I don't know what its called actually...
    Thanks in advance

An easy route would be to re-install the latest version of iTunes.
If this does not immediately cure the issue you may need to rebuild your library.

  • My iPhone won't let me play some of my music

i have some music downloaded from dat piff  but it wont allow me to play it on my iphone

This should be easy, had the same issue.  You ran out of memory.  Bring up iTunes and look at your iPhone.  It should be maxed out.  THe problem is that you try to run a game, and then it just returns right back to the launch screen.  This is because the OS couldn't find any memory available.  Remove a few items and you should be working fine again.  My iTunes said I was 2 gig over, removed several and viola.

  • Itunes won't let me put my personally made music on iphone

The Subject says it all.  I made a song in Cubase.  I put it in my itunes library.  When I sync my phone it says I don't have permission to sync my song.  Problem noticed with iphone4s, using 6plus now, osx 10.6.8, itunes 100% up to date.  It makes me laugh it's so ridiculous.

If the sample rate of your home-made tracks is anything other than 44.1, convert them.
