ITunes won't load without Error

I just loaded a new drive with a clean install of windows on a test machine I have and iTunes will load without error. It will start to import a CD but will then lock up or freeze no error. Also none of the 21 back up CD's I have or the 5 dvd's will work to recover my library. Something is seriously wrong with iTunes and it seems that Apple does not care.

After doing some trouble shooting I followed method 4 on this link as noted Can not install some updates or programs in a few other articles.
When I rebooted this time and attempted to launch iTunes nothing happened other than the icon becoming highlighted. I then checked both the widows task manager applications and the processes tab.
Applications
-Nothing running
Processes
-iTunes.exe
-iPodservice
-iTuneshelper.exe
-applemobildevice.
I attempted to end all these processes and reload itunes without any luck. Next I went into MSCONFIG and set it for selective startup. Under the services tab I removed Ipod Service and Apple Mobildevice from loading at startup and under the startup tab I removed iTuneshelper from loading.
After restarting and attempting to reload it is still not successful.
Any ideas to resolving this issue?

  • Itunes won't load without my E USB flash drive being plugged in....

I have a problem with my Itunes, and it’s driving me nuts.
When I open Itunes, it will not open/work, UNLESS I have my USB flash drive in my pc. This USB flash drive is my E drive.
I also have another external USB drive, which is where all my music is kept, and this is my F Drive.
The USB E drive must have been in when I first loaded my Itunes on to my PC, and now it will not work without it.
If I try to open Itunes without the E drive being in, it says cannot find default folder.
    This is driving me insane.
In itunes, in Edit, Preferences, advanced tab, where it says “my itunes music folder location”, I have changed it so it is definitely on my F drive, but the thing still will not work without my E drive in my PC.
I have uninstalled Itunes, but it will not uninstall without my E drive in it either. When I have finally uninstalled and tried to reinstall without the E drive it, it won’t install without my E drive in either.
When I try to download a new itunes version from your website, it still won’t install without my E drive.
I have hunted far and wide trying to find where this setting lives and have asked many people, but no one has been able to help me so far.
SO I NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE!
Where is it where I can change this default from E drive to either my C or F drive, so that my Itunes can work without my E drive being in a USB slot?
    Many thanks for your time

  • ITunes won't start WITHOUT error message

I cannot get iTunes to start at all. When I click on it in the start menu or on my desktop I see the hourglass but then nothing happens. I have tried re-downloading the software and clicking "Repair", I have tried restarting my computer but still nothing happens. Can anyone help me?

I'm having much the same problem. I have XP Pro and SP3. I can't get iTunes or Quicktime to launch. I'm using iTunes 7 anf Quicktime 7. I tried the fix with the smart card file, but it didn't work. I can't get the Smart Card Helper to activate. I just keep getting a "1068 error" with I try to start it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  • ITunes won't load RSS feed

ITunes won't load my RSS feed to post my new shows. I have 4 out so far but ITunes only shows 2. I've pinged, I've been over the RSS feed numerous times and cannot find anything wrong. It loads for other sites without problem.

Can someone please let me know why this is? I've sent emails asking for assitance but haven't heard any reply back. Why can't Itunes load the new RSS feed?
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you.

You might want to use Feedvalidator.org (a free service) to check your feed.
It looks like you have a few errors such as an "&" in a title that isn't escaped properly (add an amp; right after the & to fix).
You'll probably need to modify the very top of your feed to make it read:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
and make sure that the server is serving it up properly as UTF-8.
Correct the errors that Feedvalidator reports, keep running it through there until it gives you a "congratulations" that it's a valid RSS feed.

  • ITunes Won't Load on Windows 7

ITunes won't load since the last update.  I tried updating to the new beta version, and it still won't load.  I have lost my contacts on my iPhone and now I can't load iTunes.  I do have another computer running an older version of iTunes and would like to transfer my contacts file to the older computer and then sync my iPhone to that computer.  Can someone please help me with transfering my contacts file to the other computer?  It would be nice if iTunes would load on this computer, the one I use all the time but it seems this problem is not being addressed.  Do Apple personnel only address these problems if you pay them for support, or do they fix their software and help their customers?  Here is the error message I get, and as you can see, iTunes is not loading, just giving the error message:
The following program has performed an action that requires Windows to temporarily change the color scheme to Windows 7 basic.
    Program: iTunes
    Publisher: Apple Inc.
    Process Identifier (PID): 4652
Windows will automatically change the color scheme back to Windows Aero when this program or other programs performing similar actions are no longer running.
iTunes never starts after this message.  I've checked Windows Task Manager to see what programs are running.  I've tried using the iTune comaptibility option but that didn't change anything.  iTunes has always worked, now nothing.  Nothing happens when I plug in my iPhone, or when I start iTunes.  I just want my contacts, that's all!!!  I had always thought I was safe because I always backed up my phone -- boy was i wrong.

It doesn't do anything, and QuickTime doesn't do anything either.
many thanks. In recent times, the error-message-free launch failures of both iTunes and QuickTime have often been indicating that some application (other than QuickTime itself) has dropped old QuickTime componentry in your system files.
So just in case we'll go looking for older QuickTime componentry in the most common locations for it to be stashed.
First we'll need to change some view settings.
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
    Click OK.
Now in Computer, open your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you have your operating system installed on).
    Open the "Windows" folder.
    Open the "System32" folder.
What files and folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the title? (In a standard installation of Quicktime you should be seeing precisely two files... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)

  • ITunes won't load on Windows 7 after the last update

iTunes won't load on my Windows 7 machine after the last update. There is no error, but the window opens and says "Checking iTunes library" for a while, and then pops up iTunes. When it comes up, I can see it but it won't load or let me interact with it. The window I can see is my podcast library and it suggests it's accessing the iTunes Store. Right clicking, alt-tabbing seem to have no effect, and I can only shut it down in Task Manager. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no luck (...twice). Any other ideas?

    Hello Aristoph,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice concerning iTunes for Windows issues. If you follow the directions in order it may help:

  • ITunes won't load the songs from purchased music CDs

When loading purchased music CDs, the CD loads but iTunes won't load the songs.  Error message:  "The current encoder settings for bit rate and sample rate are not valid for the file."  I'm using an iMac PPC G4 with 768 MB RAM and OS 10.4.11 with iTunes 4.7.1. If I copy the songs into a folder I can push them into the iTunes library but these are huge AIFF files with no info and the machine can't (won't) transfer them into AAC files.

To what format are you trying to convert? What settings are you using?  Has this just started or is this the first time trying this?  I really don't know what the limitations are for iTunes 4.7.  I thought I was being a luddite in sticking with 7.5....
Try an alternative ripper such as XLD or Max.

  • ITunes won't load after recent upgrade

I see I'm not the only one with this problem. I've been through the FAQ and removed and downloaded iTunes and Quicktime separately multiple times, but iTunes won't load. It will be difficult to buy more songs like this.
I've a Sigma Tel Audio driver installed by Dell. I'm running McAfee anti virus. Let me know what other info will help somebody to help me solve this.
    Thanks.

    a few questions before proceeding.
are you getting an error message? if so, what does it say? include error message numbers if you're getting any.
or are you getting no error messages whatsoever when you try to launch itunes?
if no error message, a few more preliminary questions aimed at narrowing in on possible culprits.
    (1) do you have Norton Internet Security 2005 installed on the PC?
    (2) try launching your QuickTime. does it:
    (a) launch perfectly fine?
    (b) fail to launch with an error message? (if so, what does it say?)
    (c) exhibit other peculiar behavior? (if so, could you describe it for us?)
    (3) reboot the PC. bring up your Task Manager, and click on the "Processes" tab. now try to launch itunes again.
does an "itunes.exe" process appear in the Processes tab? if so, does it persist in there or does it disappear after a few seconds?

itunes won't load up when i click on it , i don't even get the user agreement, i've deleted and downloaded it 5 times!
are you getting an error message when you try to launch itunes? if so, what does it say?
or are you getting no error messages whatsoever? if so, let us know the results of the following observations. (this will give us an idea of which of the three main causes of error-less launch failure we should check up on first.)
reboot the PC. open Task Manager to the Processes Tab. now try to launch itunes again.
does an itunes.exe process appear in Task Manager? if so, does it persist in there or disappear after a few seconds?
    keep us posted.

You’re running an outdated copy of Safari on your Desktop. That won’t work.
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Applications
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-A to open the Applications folder. Check that the Safari application is in that folder. If it is, use it, and delete the copy on your Desktop. Never move or copy built-in applications.
If you've deleted Safari from the Applications folder, back up all data, then reinstall OS X. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade, so make a note of those before you begin.

  • My iTunes won't load on my ipad

My iTunes won't load on my ipad

I am experiencing similar problems with my iPhone 4s and 5s, from reading similar posts their are a large number of people having the same issue so I would wait it out before taking the drastic action of a restore, which I have already attempted and has made no odds. I believe it may be an issue on Apple's end.

I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.
