Itunes won't open, no error, just won't show up at all

I have an older version of itunes stuck on my computer because i cannot open itunes to upgrade or download a newer version from online. There is no error message or anything. Nothing happens when you click on it. It's very frustrating. I'd appreciate any help i can get.

Open Activity Monitor located in /Applications/Utiliites
Select 'View' then 'My Processes' in the menubar across the very top of your screen.
Type Pages in the search field top right corner of the Activity Monitor window.
Now select the application Pages (it should say 'not responding') and click the force quit button that looks like a stop sign with an x in it.

Force Quitting within Activity Monitor is a quick and efficient way to handle most Applications "Not Responding" or seeming not to open with error -1712.

Delete the shortcut and make a new one. The 'real' application will probably be fine if you launch it from the Start/Programs menu.

ITunes won't open - wordless error message

When I try to open itunes, I get a wordless error message that only shows a red octagon behind the itunes application symbol. The only option is to click 'OK'. Personally, I would never use a debit card online, for security reasons. If your card gets hacked its your money that is stolen. At least with a credit card it is the card providers money that is stolen.
Anyway, I would delete the app and re-install. If you paid for the app in the first place you will be able to re-install free of charge. Also, the app should allow the in-app purchase to happen again as it should recognise that you have already purchased it previously.
Finally, it might be that the 3G doesnt have as much ram as more recent models of iphone and you may have applications running in the background that are preventing the app to function with the in-app purchase unless you shut down any apps eating all you memory that are running in the background. Shut-down these apps (and the simpson tap out app) by exiting to your home screen and double-tapping the home button to show what apps are running in the background. press and hold any of the open apps until it starts shaking. close all the apps down. exit then re-launch the app.

What version of Adobe Reader have you installed on your Mac?
Please try installing on a different Admin user account and check if that makes a difference.

When i try to open itunes it won't open(non error msg without norton)

When i double click the icon on my desktop itunes won't open. When i go to start > programs > itunes > itunes it will not load either. I do not even get an error message.All i see is a time glass for just a second. And i do not have norton on my computer.I tryed reinstalling itunes but it did not work. My ipod works fine and has nothing to do with the problem i think. I would have called for support on the telephone but I havn't been able to find the number. Somone help plz

reboot the PC. bring up your Task Manager, and click on the "Processes" tab. now try to launch itunes again.
does an "itunes.exe" process appear in the Processes tab? if so, does it persist in there or does it disappear after a few seconds?

Itunes won't open- unknown error -50

My itunes won't open. everytime i click on it, it says unknown error -50. I have read other post and ppl say deauthorize it and authorize it again. But how am i suppose to deauthorize it when I can't even see the screen or it wont open at all. Please help me fix this. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Did you get any resolution yet??? I have the same issue. Have uninstalled\reinstalled a million times. Have done system restores back as far as possible. NOTHING works!!!!!!! UGGH!!!

ITunes won't open - unknown error

I upgraded to iTunes 5.0.1 and since then when I open iTunes it goes to the license agreement and when I click agree I get a message saying it can not be opened and an unknown error occurred. I have repaired permissions and it still won't open. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem. Thanks!

try this, open the iTunes folder in your Music folder and select the iTunes Library file... type command-D to duplicate the file... put the original on your desktop and edit the name of the copy to be the same as the one you moved to desktop... after edit double/click on the file...

Itunes 8 won't open. I click to try to open it and I get "itunes has encountered a problem and needs to close." I've tried plugging in Ipod to see if it will help in opening itunes. it won't. ITunes will not open. After a few minutes it gives me error -600. Please help it used to work not sure what happened.

I have been having the same problem lately. I have not found a solution yet. I've tried repairing the disk, reparing permissions, using a different user, reinstalling itunes, trashing the .plist, but nothing has worked. After iTunes is launched it immediately becomes unresponsive and will not Force Quit. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
