Itunes won't open, Windows 7, and can't find SC Info to fix

Worked through all the fixes, cannot find the SC INfo as the link suggests.

Make sure you have checked "Show hidden files and folders"
From the Start menu, click Computer.
In the Organize menu, click Folder and Search Options.
Click the View tab.
In the "Advanced settings" pane under "Hidden files and folders" make sure that the "Show hidden files and folders" option is selected.
Click OK.

Does iCloud or iTunes back up your contacts?  I can't find any info in the articles that specifically backs up my contacts.

It looks like the developer's of that app, or Apple, have got the wrong search name for it in the store - you could try contacting the developer and pointing it out to them so that they can get it corrected. Currently it looks like you can only find the app either by using the link (as you've included in your post), or by searching for the developer's name (Page Foundry Inc) in the store.
For searching the store, when you search for something then the first result(s) should be those whose title matches what you searched for - so if you search for 'ebook reader' then as there is an app with that exact name it will be first in the results, other apps will then be listed after it.

  • My itunes won't open at all and has the Error message (13014)

    PLEASE HELP!
I recently upgraded my itunes to the itunes 9. Now it won't open even if i try with the option key, but i may be doing the wrong thing. It won't even open when i reboot my computer. It was doing fine at first , but now it won't let access my music at all. Any solutions? I would greatly appreciate it.

No thats not right, iTUnes uses parts of quicktime to play audio and video. You need to go here and download the stand alone version of quicktime. Now apple has recently changed this page to include quicktime with iTUnes and then qwuicktime only. get the one WITHOUT iTUnes,

  • I installed windows 8 and can't find all my bookmarks etc. I tried reset but it didn't help. How can I restore my old info?

I tried to find the database files from my old firefox on explorer 7 but any old files I tried came up as can not open or not found. I tried the suggestions from mozilla help about what files contain the info but got the same results. I did reset but all it did was give me the few new things I've done since installing windows 8.

hello, did you install windows 8 on top of another operating system on a single machine and do you have any form of prior backup available?
one thing you could try is to search the whole filesystem (make sure you include all locations, also hidden ones) for the term ''bookmarks*.json'' - if any results show up with a date in their filename that lies before the windows install, you can then likely import them into your current firefox profile.

  • Recently reloaded windows xp and can't find purchased songs..

I recently reloaded windows xp onto my computer, and I redownloaded iTunes and now I can't find any of the songs I had purchased before. Will someone please help me find the songs or figure out how to get them back??

If you didn't make a back-up of your purchases to restore from (as you are advised to do) then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on this link you'll be able to email your query: iTMS Customer Service
If you have an iPod that still has the purchases on it the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer

  • ITunes Won't Open (Windows XP)

Whenever I try to open iTunes in Windows XP, before it opens I get an error message that says "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." This is also effecting Quicktime. Anything I can do to fix this? I've tried reinstalling it a couple times, but it hasn't worked.

  • ITunes won't open or uninstall and reinstall

I recently tried to download iTunes 10 but a part of it didn't download right and now when I press iTunes it says, "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." Then when I try to uninstall it says the installer has insufficient privileges to modify this file. And when I just try to download it again from apple.com it doesn't let me download it. I just recently bought an iPod touch and I haven't been able to do anything with it because of iTunes, so any help would be really appreciated.

I am also having this problem. Only started tody.
Origially I couldn't open the program as whenever I tried the shortcut or the file it came up with a message that said it had been moved.
So I uninstalled and then re-downloaded the setup files and re-installed.
    Now I get the message:
"Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."
I cannot uninstall or re-install either, this gives the message:
"The Installer has insufficient priviledges to modify this file: C:\Program Files\iTunes\Acknowledgements.rtf.
    Please help!

  • Itunes won't open - possible virus - how can I backup before OS reinstall

My itunes program, along with my internet connection, Outlook, and several other system programs, is not working. One day the computer just wouldn't let me open this set of programs, and since I can't go online I can't download the itunes program again to deauthorize the computer before we wipe it clean, nor to do a backup.
I can turn the computer on, however, and see the itunes data in the app data folder. Is there any way I can do a backup without actually getting into the program? I have a backup from several months ago but not a recent one and hate the idea of loosing music that we've recently purchased.
Thanks for any advice you can offer.

+see the itunes data in the app data folder+
The major folder used by itunes is the c:/...music/itunes folder and all its subfolders. That is the one you should try to back up.

  • Itunes program corrupted on Windows XP and can't be removed...

I have  an Iphone 4 and regularly update it via Itunes. Recently my Itunes program got corrupted. Upon rebooting the computer I got an error window pop up with this message "AppleSyncNotifier.exe -Entry Point Not Found. The procedure entry point sqlite3_wai_checkpoint could not be located in the dynamic point library SQLite3.dll"
Soon my whole Itunes program crashed and I tried to remove and reinstall it but got the message that the "older version" of Itunes cannot be removed. Now even my CD/DVD drive is corrupted and not working.
Anybody knows how can I fix this problem? Thanks...

Normally, I'd think of these as three different problems.
    (1) "AppleSyncNotifier.exe -Entry Point Not Found. The procedure entry point sqlite3_wai_checkpoint could not be located in the dynamic point library SQLite3.dll"
With that one, I'd first try uninstalling and then reinstalling your MobileMe control panel.
    (2) Soon my whole Itunes program crashed and I tried to remove and reinstall it but got the message that the "older version" of Itunes cannot be removed.
Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
    (3) Now even my CD/DVD drive is corrupted and not working.
Could you describe what's going on with that one in a bit more detail, please?

  • ITunes won't open, "windows is checking for a solution to the problem."

I attempt to open up iTunes, and it thinks about it, loads for about 6 seconds, then comes with a window, first saying "Windows is checking for a solution to the problem," then after it loads, it says "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
Obviously it doesn't notify me. This has been happening to me for about 2 months. I am very very sad, and just want to go on my iTunes. Someone please help me!! Thank you!

i'm not sure either. i am also running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit but havent had any problems.

  • I have pc with itunes loaded on seperate hard drive and can't find all music some from ripping in wav files won;t show but any and all i've downloaded from itunes store are there what,s up/ /?

Having trouble getting my music from seperate hard drive. Recently tried to have my new laptop see and play itunes on my wireless server, but not all music showed up, and now my music on my pc doesn't show all music either. Some wav files from ripping off cd, and some I've imported from windows media show up and all mp3 bought from store is there. But more than half is listed at bottom of library as unknown artist, unknown album etc.. WHATS UP!!!!

try backing up the adresses on a different computer.
    1) connect iphone to computer
    2) in itunes click "enable disk use"
    3) locate the files in the iphone hard drive
    4) copy and paste them on that computer
if it does wipe out your adress library, just revert to the backup. Although i don't know where the files will be on your iphone hard drive.

Today I bought an Itouch 8GB. I downloaded iTunes to get the latest greatest version. I ran the program and agreed to everything, took all the defaults. However when I launch it I get nothing. Just an hourglass and then nothing.

  • Itunes won't open-can't find MSVCR80.dll

Running Windows XP. downloaded the latest undate to i tunes and the system won't open.  Message says can't find MSVCR80.dll.
Reloaded Itunes but get the same message.  Help

Welcome to the club. So far the only proposed remedy to complete the upgrade is to do an iTunes (and related software) rip and replace. See the details in numerous posts to this forum.
If you want to hang in there for a while to see if Apple can figure out the problem and provide a functioning 11.1.4 upgrade you can try reverting to a Windows restore point created prior to the failed upgrade attempt. Don't know if that's an XP option though.
Note to self: always create a Windows restore point before allowing any Apple software upgrade attempts!
