ITunes won't play content bought in the iTunes store.

I purchased some video content from the iTunes store a while ago, watched it a few times without a problem. But since a few weeks ago, iTunes won't play it, all I get is a black screen, and a progress bar at the top.
Everything else works fine, appart form this. Which is annoying, since I paid for it.
Is there any way to fix this, or should I just ask the iTunes store for my money back?

I am having the same problem. Why do we keep using Apple when their support is so pitiful? You cannot contact Apple about problems. Hopefully they will eventually correct the problem. Good Luck.

  • ITunes won't play older purchases says the are not authorized

SOme of the older TV shows I purchased with this account won't play on my laptop. I looked at the other posts on this issue but not of the advice is relevant. For example, one recommendation to get rid of the "this computer is not authorized" message is to delete the SC Info folder in /Users/Shared/. I don;t have an SC Info folder at all on the laptop. I did the thing where you use terminal to change permissions, no luck. Some TV shows play, others don't. I checked the Get Info summary page for the files in question and confirmed I bought them with my one and only account, so it isn't an issue of multiple accounts. To say the least this is an annoying position to be in, any help would be appreciated.

    It's a hidden folder.

  • ITunes won't play tv shows downloaded from iTunes Store

I can't play the tv shows that I downloaded from the iTunes store. Everytime I try to open up a tv show I get the error message, "iTunes has stopped working...A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." Now, I don't have a problem with playing songs from my musical library. It is just the video or tv shows that will not play. I have tried to open a show (6) six times with the same message. Here is the report I got from the Problem Reports and Solution panel. Please help! Thank you.

I actually found the answer to my problem. After posting this question I still proceeded to trying to find the answer through internet searches and noticed that my specific Fault Module Name was Quickset.qts. I uninstalled and then reinstalled it and now I can play the videos just fine.
Thank you for taking the time to read. hope this helps someone in the future.

  • I moved from New Zealand to Ireland and now my apps won't sync with my phone - or rather the system says that it won't support stuff bought through the NZ store.  Yikes.  3GS 4.3.4

I switched my iMac to the Ireland Store - but not my iPhone, I thought that would happen automatically...

Basic troubleshooting from the Users Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

  • ITunes won't play content as it says my monitor is "unauthorized."  ***?

When I launch a downloaded movie on iTunes and try to play it, I get a message that "protected content is attempting to be played on an unauthorized computer."
I have a 27" 1920x1200 Dell connected to a 13" MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard. The monitor has worked fantastic with the MacBook always. If I drag the movie to the MacBook Pro's monitor it comes on, drag it back, it blacks out.
Eventually, it will start playing what I want on the big monitor. Any ideas here? Thanks!

  • ITunes won't play video bought through iTunes Store

A little while ago my computer died. I had backed up my itunes files individually, and when I recieved my new computer I dragged the files into the library. The songs work perfectly, but the TV shows which I purchased from iTunes Store will not play whatsoever, even though they are in the library.
When I try to drag them onto my itouch, I get the message, "Title" was not copied to iPod because it cannot be played on this iPod. A couple, but not all of the videos, will crash itunes when I try to play them. At one point I tried 'Create an iPod or iPhone version', but when I did I would first get a message saying 'This application can not be used to play this content. In order to play this content, please open it with iTunes.' and then the message 'Error occurred while converting the file. An unknown error occurred (-50). I also have tried deauthorizing and then authorizing my computer, but it did not work.
    Any ideas?

  • ITunes won't load my iPhone but the colour wheel showed up

I've been syncing my iPhone 5 to my iTunes (I'm using MacBook Pro), but about a month ago after an software update in my iPhone, iTunes won't load my iPhone.
The iTunes recognised my iPhone as the symbol showed up and the colour wheel for loading showed up.
But the colour wheel showed up forever. I've waited for 2 hours and its still there, and I can't click anything in my iTunes although background music is still playing. I had to force quit my iTunes (but my iTunes works normally if there is no phone connected to it)
I've updated my mac to OS X Yosemite, latest, and my iPhone to iOS 8.1.3. I tried resetting network setting on my phone.
PS: I can sync iTunes with my iPod 2nd generation, but not my iPad (same problem).
Please help, I want to sync my phone to iTunes. iPhoto works with my phone!

  • Apple TV 3gen won't play content from iTunes, Apple TV 2nd gen works fine same network

    Hi.
Recently, after all the most recent Apple updates, my Apple TV 3rd gen won’t play content from iTunes on my Mac. I have an Apple TV 3nd gen  on the same network and it works fine. This problem started after the recent round of OS X updates( I am running 10.9.2 and iTunes 11.1.5. As my Apple TV3 was actually new and I took it to the Apple store where they kindly gave me a new one but the same thing happens. The Apple TV 3rd gen will play content through the onboard clients like Netflix, iTunes, Bloomberg.
The Apple TV3rd gen won’t play anything form my computer’s iTunes library, whether or not it was purchased from the Itunes store or home movies from iPhone etc. I have restored the device a few times to no luck. I have even switched routers, same problem.
    Any thoughts ?
    Thanks in advance.

Home sharing was configured and turned on. I can actually see all the content on my Mac. When I trry to play anything i just see the white spinning wheel on the black background.

  • I have iTunes Match, but some of the music I loaded from CDs and I can see in the iTunes store won't play. It recognizes the album but is playing literally the only 3 songs I don't want to listen to.

have iTunes Match, but some of the music I loaded from CDs and I can see in the iTunes store won't play. It recognizes the album but is playing literally the only 3 songs I don't want to listen to.
How do I get to play all of my music that should be stored either on the computer or in the cloud?

    Hi,
Initially your music should be in your iTunes library on your computer. Once match completes its scan, your music will have been matched or uploaded. I suggest that you add iCloud status column to song view. This will tell you what has been matched, uploaded, purchased, inelligible, duplicate or waiting. What is the status of your tracks that are not playing.
If space is not an issue, I suggest that you keep the music on the internal hard drive otherwise you can delete the tracks and play from cloud. In both instances, you should maintain a back up of all your music on a separate hard drive.

No, you should have Restrictions OFF.
Computer's iTunes > Preferences > Parental Preferences > everything should be unchecked.
Are the songs also on computer's iTunes?

Did you delete the hard copy of the songs from your computer after you uploaded them?
If so just highlight the said songs and delete but do not check the box that says delete from iCloud and your songs should play fine.
This happens when the original file is moved from the location that itunes was looking for it at and if you did this because you uploaded it then it will still be in the cloud you just need itunes to read from cloud and not think it's supposed to be finding the original file

No, I haven't figured it out.  And no one from Apple has contacted me to help.  Very frustrating.  Sure makes me want to not buy music on iTunes and just buy CD's.
Do you have a 3GS too?  Maybe it's something with that phone??
