Itunes won't read my ipod touch 4th Generation

Sometimes, when I plug my ipod touch into the computer, itunes doesn't see it. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, it's fustrating. If anyone out there knows how to fix this problem, I would love to hear their advice.

However, based on your symptoms you may have a poor connection somewhere. Have you tried a different cable, different USB ports.
Also, look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, foreign material and broken or cracked plastic.

Is it possible to view my saved items I have in my iTunes account 'Wish List', or can I only see them whenever I log into iTunes on a PC or MAC?

My iTunes will not recognize my iPod touch 4th generation so I cant sync anything to it, why?

My 4th generation iPod touch will not be recognized on iTunes when i plug it into my computer. I just want to sync some music to it but its not even appearing on the side bar so i cant do anything. Ive tried plugging in my brand new iPad air and the same thing has happened. I have also tried resetting my ipod but that hasnt done anything. Please help

However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components

Why won't my new iPod Touch 4th generation sync audiobooks?

I have tried to sync my library from my old iPod Classic to my new iPod Touch, but it will not sync my audiobooks. I have eyesight problems and my audiobooks are important to me. When I connect to my computer and pull up iTunes, it shows the audiobooks are there, but when I snyc, my iPod doesn't even show a catagory for Audiobooks. Can someone help me.

I feel so stupid! I found the answer in the "More like this" area.
Here is an excerpt from the area that helped me:

When i plug in my ipod 5th generation a message pops up on iTunes that says:
"itunes cannot read the contents of the ipod 'Danielle's iPod". Go to the Summary tab in iPod preferences and click Restore to restore this iPod to factory settings."
I've only had my ipod for about a week and I'd really like to not have to reset it out of fear of it not working properly again, but i need to be able to sync it. So is there another option i could try first? Like i've sycned my ipod a few times before but all of a sudden it cant read it. Does this have to do with iTunes or my iPod? HALP.

IMovie app won't load on ipod touch (4th Generation)

I updated software to 5.1.1. Downloaded the app. Synced to device. It shows up on the screen, and says "waiting" underneath. But it never loads. Any ideas?

Thiss sometimes happens with apps.
Try deleting it, then re-installing (once you've bought an app you can download it again forever).
OR try restarting the iPod.
IT might be a slo Internet connection, or some other app is trying to install too.

I've had this problem from about two weeks and I forgot about it, but today I wanted to play on it and remembered that it's not working, I've tried connecting it to iTunes via my laptop but I'm not to sure how to update it because I thought that might fix it, but no luck. Hi, when you say you have tried everything... I presume you have gone into Settings > Store and logged out and back in with your account details?
You could try purchasing an app via iTunes to see if its an issue with the device or the account you're using.

iOS6 problems aplenty ....not sure if the link I inserted is working or not, but the issue is a lot more prevalent - the issue being that what shows up & plays in iTunes after the iOS6 update is not what shows up (& plays) on the device itself. This may go beyond just the iPod Touch as well.
In my case I can see & play both audio & video files in my Playlist through iTunes, but can only see the Playlists on the iPod Touch with ALL of them being empty. Syncing numerous times no help. Contacting Apple Tech. Support no help - they suggested downloading my Purchases from the iTunes Store - waste of time, did not make a difference. It is clear Apple needs to release a fix to OS6.
Another problem I noticed on the device is that the Shuffle option is hidden on the built-in Songs Playlist, having to swipe the screen down to see it - dumb dumb dumb.

My computer isn't/won't let me sync my iPod touch 4th generation. I'm trying to upload photos from my computer (laptop, HP/Windows 7).
iTunes keeps asking me to authorize my computer, it will authorize it, but it will ask the same question and for my Apple information again.
It will let me get to step 3/5 of the syncing process but if I hit the X and close out, it will terminate/end the process. I've only synced this one
computer. Any advice?

It doesn't freeze, it just asks for my Apple ID and password. It'll repeatedly pop up and ask, even if my computer is already synced. When I close out of the login/sync request it terminates the syncing process.
When it's listed at the 3/5 in the syncing process, it says "Transferring Purchases from 'xxxx's iPod touch' (Step 3 of 5)"

I just got an iPod touch 4th generation for my daughter. I already have a iPhone 5 setup with iTunes. All I want to put on her iPod is music and apps. How do I set the iPod to only get that information using my iTunes?

You can set up more than one device on your computer, and iTunes will remember the settings for each of them:

But you'll have to use your Apple ID to sync bought media to her device. Disable all other things you don't want to sync like photos, contacts, etc.
