ITunes won't recognize my iPod touch after a failed update--my iPod is stuck on the "plug into itunes" screen

Yesterday, I had bought myself an ipod touch and it was working just fine until today when I went along with an itunes prompt to update my ipod.  It failed to update and now won't recognize it, I checked to see if it was recognized by my computer--and it is, but a thing pops up that says "access denied" whenever I try to click on it.  The screen on my ipod is stuck wanting me to connect to itunes.

See Here  >  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
You may need to try this More than Once...
Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
But... if the Device has been Modified... this will Not necessarily work

The only thing you can do from here is plug into itunes and restore the device. You will lose all your content but you will be able to use and resync your device.

If you are in a screen to plug into iTunes, then the device is in recovery mode. Your only option is to connect to the computer to restore the device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

  • HT201263 My iPod is stuck on the "Plug into iTunes" screen. What do I do???

So, my computer is telling me that I need to type in my password into my iPod to unlock it, but my iPod is telling me to "Plug into Tunes". I can't unlock it on my iPod and I've already tried putting it into recovery mode (or whatever you call it) multiple times doing it differently each time, but it's still not working. It was previously jailbroken (if that makes a difference), but I just want to restore it now so I can get it to work. Someone with answers, pleeeeeeeease help me!!!

... It was previously jailbroken (if that makes a difference),
It makes a difference. A jailbroken iPod Touch cannot be fixed.
    Buy a new one.

  • My Itunes won't recognize my Ipod nano 6th, did the troubleshooting

    Hey,
So I have an Iphone 4s and I had the same problem with it and solved it by the "verify that the apple mobile device usb driver is installed". It wasn't installed and I installed it by the steps and now it works.
Tried to do the same to my Ipod nano 6th, and when I'm trying to install the driver (as I did with the Iphone, and as it says in the troubleshooting) I get the next message: "the folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with windows for 64x-based systems".
I did tried all the other steps as well and nothing worked. I guess the problem is with the driver (as I had the same problem exactly with my Iphone), but it doesn't say in the troubleshooting what to do with this error message.
    Thanks for your help.

  • My iPod is stuck on the black apple logo screen

I was using a texting app and all of a sudden, my iPod went to the apple logo screen and froze. The apple on the screen is messed up, it doestn't look right, like there was a glitch. I tried restarting it by holding the home button and the button on the top. It turns off, but when it comes back on, the apple is still messed up. I tried this multiple times, a few times there were thin pink, and sometimes blue, lines all across the screen. I also tried hooking it up to my computer, but it doesnt show up on my itunes, and the screen doesnt change. My iPod was charged and was working like normal before this happened. What should I do? Is this fixable? Is it the app's fault that this happened? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. My warrenty has run out

Typically, this happens when a Touch is "jailbroken" - but I suspect that isn't the case, here.
The you've saved all of your data on iTunes, correct? Then, you next step will be to reset the Touch (pressing the start and power buttons at same time for ten seconds or so), until your Touch resets. It will recompile your library, and can take about an hour. Make sure your Touch is fully charged, of course.
When you're up and running, you might want to nuke that texting app, too.

  • IPhone 4: My IPhone keeps in the "plug-into-iTunes-screen" after trying to update to iOS 5.0. The phone is not showing up as a device in iTunes anymore.

My IPhone doesn't turn on and keeps in the "plug-into-Tunes-screen" after update to new IOs 5.0 yesterday. I also tried to restore it, but it still keeps in the plugin mode. In ITunes the IPhone doesn't show up as a device anymore, but Windows 7 detects it as a camera. I started the problem diagnose via ITunes and it says "iPhone can't be found".I'm using the new version of iTunes.
    Can anyone help me?

I have the exact same problem and have just logged on here to see if anyone can help also?  My iphone is up and working but itunes won't recognise it as a device... just updated itunes aswell.
Any help would be hugely appreciated!!
