Itunes won't recognize my music on my ipod

I can't get my ipod music onto my itunes. I have a new computer-is this the problem

I believe you need to authorize your computer. I got a new computer recently and when I went to sync ipod for first time it stripped all of the music I had purchased. Go into itunes librarey and click on tab that says I believe advanced and it should give you an option to authorize computer. Once you do this plug your ipod back in and your music should be restored. It does take a few minutes to restore music if you have a lot. I hope this helps.

  • My Itunes Won't Recognize The Music I Already Have!

My computer I had my Itunes program on crashed and I installed it on a new computer and now i still have the music on there but the new Itunes won't recognize it. And it won't allow me to put new songs on there. What's up?

i will suggest you to follow this article from the apple's knowledge base. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303635.
Most important thing when you are adding music to the itunes library by doing "Add folder to library " be sure to have this option checked "copy files to itunes music folder when adding to library " , its under Advanced menu in itunes preferences.

  • ITunes Won't Recognize My Music Library on Ext Hard Drive

    Hey All,
Just got a iBook G4 and I'm trying to access my music on iTunes, but I can't. Is there a trick I'm missing here? I set the folder location to the Ext Drive, but still nothing. Everything work with out issue on my old iBook G3.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Mike

Pointing iTunes to a folder simply tells iTunes to put all new music there. You need to File -> *Add to library* then select that music folder.

  • What can i do if iTunes won't sync my music to my iPod touch / iPhone?

  • ITunes won't recognize new songs on my iPod

I put some new songs on my iPod with another iTunes on another computer. When I opened iTunes and plugged my iPod in the first time after I had added the songs, iTunes recognized the iPod but didn't do anything about the new songs. My iPod also stayed on the "Do not disconnect" screen. I had to press the eject button to safely disconnect it. I thought that when there were songs on the iPod that weren't on iTunes, iTunes would question you about whether or not to add them to iTunes. I have it set to "Manually Manage Music". So,
    1. Is it possible to get iTunes to recognize the new songs?
    2. If so, how?
    thanks

This applies to music purchased from the iTunes store, when the computer you're using is authorized to play music from that iTunes store account. It does not apply to music obtained in other ways, or if the computer isn't authorized to play that music.

  • ITunes won't recognize either my iPhone nor iPod Touch

... But my computer does. USB works fine in everything else(other computers to charge, wall plug in, car), tried a different port, uninstalled iTunes and re-installed, even reset my iPod to factory settings but it still won't connect. I checked my download history between the period of when it was last working to now to make sure there wasn't anything weird in it, and there's nothing. I have Windows 8.
I just ran a 'program compatibility troubleshooter' test and it says that the issue is an 'incompatible program'. When I click for detailed information, it says that iTunes is the incompatible program.

iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    - I would start with
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
    - New cable and different USB port
    - Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

  • Itunes won't recognize iPod after installing MediaMonkey..

    Hi,
I recently switched from Itunes to MediaMonkey, and I'm very happy. But my girlfriend still uses iTunes. And now her iTunes won't recognize neither her or my iPod when I connect either of them. Windows and MediaMonkey recognizes them perfectly. iTunes just comes up with this error message:
"The software necessary to communicate with iPod isn't correctly installed. Install iTunes again before installing iPod-software."
I've tried uninstalling and re-installing iTunes a number of times. I even tried uninstalled MediaMonkey, but nothing works..
PLEASE HELP ME, I'M GOING INSANE HERE =(

Have you tried working through the steps in this article, in the order listed?

I have a 30GB Video Ipod and itunes won't recognize it. I have to keep putting the music files back in and converting them. Also the Movie and TV Shows I bought disappeared. I have a Windows XP Home Edition, and itunes 7. I downloaded itunes about 4 or 5 months ago, it that helps. My ipod shows up in my computer though. I want to know:

    2. How do I get itunes to keep and remember my files
    3. How do I get my videos back?
    4. Which version of itunes should I get and how do I get it?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
This article addresses both error messages...
iPod shows up in Windows but not in iTunes
As for the iPod not turning off. Try resetting...
    Reset iPod
After you reset it, wait about a minute and then try turning it off.

  • Itunes won't recognize my balance from a purchased gift card so I cannot buy any new songs

itunes won't recognize my balance from a gift card & won't let me purchase anything from the itunes store. How do I fix this?

I have a similar issue.  CD's I purchased were downloaded to ITunes years ago and used on my 1G and 2G Ipods and 3gs Iphone.  They are still on my ITunes but won't sync to my I phone 5.  curious if this is a licensing issue or flaw in the system.  Would love to hear my old CD purchased music without having to buy new digital music. Any insight to this situation would be great.

  • ITunes won't recognize MP3s ripped from CD

Before iTunes was available for Windows, I was using MusicMatch to rip MP3s from Audio CDs....iTunes won't recognize those files...they are not protected...i have consolidated my library and even physically moved the files into the iTunes Music folder...I have deleted my .iml file and reloaded both iTunes and my 'library'...same result...other programs such as Media Player recognize and play these specific files, so I am at a total loss..Windows Explorer tells me that these files will open with iTunes, but when I select 'Open With..', iTunes will start but the song never plays and isn't added to my library...I spent hours and hours and hours ripping these CDs...is there a setting or preference that I am missing? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The headers on the problem tracks may be nonstandard or corrupted (this can happen with some MP3 conversion or import utilities). If you search the web for "mp3 repair" you'll find a number of repair tools. Here's one I've seen mentioned:
    VBRfix.
I haven't tried any of the versions of this, so I can't attest to how well (or indeed if) they work.
    Hope this helps.

  • My iTunes won't recognize my iPhone 6 when I plug it up

My iTunes won't recognize my iPhone 6 when I plug it up. I reset my phone and its still not recognizing my phone. Is there another way I can put the music from my library on my phone? How can I fix this?

Did the iTunes ever recognize the iPhone 6 before?

  • ITunes won't recognize my 120 gb iPod Classic?

My mac recognizes my iPod Classic as a device but not specifically as an ipod and itunes won't recognize it so I can't sync any of my music...it worked perfectly fine this morning. I think I messed it up but I don't know how to fix it, so here's the story: Originally I was just trying to put movies (that are in itunes) onto my ipod through my mac but nothing worked (i tried manually and automatically syncing, changing the file type, etc), so I plugged it into my PC laptop to try to put the movies on it that way but it reformatted my iPod and deleted everything and the movies didn't even go on.. when I plugged it back into my Mac itunes opened automatically like it should but didn't recognize any devices so I can't even restore it to reformat it Nothing that I have come across on the internet has worked. please help me

I have the same problem. Downloaded iturne 9 and now it wont recognize my iPod. My Computer recognizes it until itunes opens then itunes ejects the ipod. I have a Classic 80GB. I have reset it, I have reinstalled itunes. No go. I think that I read somewhere in the download section (too late obviously) that itune 9 only syncs Classics (fall 2009) versions and iphones.
