ITunes won't resize
My iTunes will no longer resize. I can get to the bottom right corner, but the ability to resize by clicking and dragging is not available. All I can do is make it full screen or change the screen resolution to adjust the overall size. I have updated to the newest version of iTunes but that didn't change anything. I am running OSX 10.6.8. Any ideas?

ITunes won't open and a Windows error message pops up
I downloaded iTunes 10.2.2.12 awhile ago. It worked fine the first time. Ever since then, whenever I plug in my ipod, my laptop recognizes and says it's syncing but iTunes won't open. I double click on iTunes and I get an error message from Windows saying that an error has occurred and it needs to close iTunes but it never even opens up. (The message doesn't give any error codes.) I've tried completely uninstalling iTunes and all its components and then reinstalling it but I get the same error message. I have Windows XP 2002 Home Edition SP 3. Please help. Thanks.

Yes, it is an "iTunes has encountered a problem" error. The ModName: dnssd. dll The ModVer: 2.0.5.0 Offset: 0000246c
With that one, by way of experiment, let's try disabling your Bonjour Service.
In your Start menu, right-click My Computer and select "Manage".
Expand "Services & Applications".
Open "Services". (Perhaps maximise the screen to better see what's going on.)
Right-click the Bonjour Service and select "Properties".
In the General tab, set the Startup type to "Disabled":
... and click OK.
Restart the PC and try launching iTunes again. Does it launch properly this time? -
I've just updated my iPhone to the new iPhone OS and now it won't work and iTunes won't recognise that it's there. I've uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled twice and it's not working. Please help.
I have not had wifi since November when I upgraded to the newest IOS version. I called the Apple help line and they told me some things to do and I tried them all and they worked for a few hours and then wifi shut off again. I kept doing what they told me and it worked for a couple more days and then I could never turn it on again. My blue tooth doesn't work either. I had to actually increase my data usage with AT&T becuase of this. When I did that in December I went to the Apple store and was told that it is a hardware issue and since my phone is out of warranty I would have to pay for a new phone because they could not fix the issue. My upgrade isn't up until June 2014 so not only do I have to wait for the upgrade and I am not paying for a new phone but I have to pay $10 plus extra a month on my cell phone bill because I was going over on my Data!!! I have been beyond upset about this and Apple is not doing anything about this nor did they offer up some way to resolve the issue because obviously it is not just some rare incident if several people are having this issue. Who knows how many people out there have had this issue and have not said anything about it. Now there is a newer update that I can't do because it requires wifi in order to download.
June can not get here fast enough and I may not go back to Iphone after dealing with this for so long with no help from Apple. -
Please help! My iTunes won't display my voice memos from iPhone 4S when trying to sync data. Files are to large for emailing. I want to back up the files on to my computer.

ITunes won't copy music files to Media folder when songs are dragged
I am trying add songs from my external hard drive to my iTunes Library.
I have the following options checked:
"Keep iTunes Media folder organized."
"Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library."
In the past, I could just drag files from my hard drive into the iTunes song list and add them to the library. iTunes would successfully make a copy of the file to the iTunes Media folder so that I could disconnect the hard drive and still play the songs.
Suddenly, this no longer works. iTunes won't make a copy of the file anymore. It won't even make a copy of files located on my desktop.
I found a workaround -- copy the files from my hard drive to the desktop. Then I have to go to File > Add to Library in order for it to work.
It's an extra step, but it was VERY annoying to have to figure out.
So my question -- Is this an iTunes bug or some kind of deliberate attempt at making it hard to use files not purchased through iTunes?
I noticed this on one of the Apple support pages (my emphasis):

You can select these options on the Advanced pane of iTunes preferences:
"Keep iTunes Media folder organized." Learn more about how iTunes 9 and later organizes your media.

Well, why the heck not??I have posted so many issues to APPLE on the staggering lack of basic functionality with itunes and each time they keep deleting it.
Automatically Addd feature does not work consistently if the library is on NAS or a drive not on the same bok as the Mac, iMac or PC.
iTuns will hang if you have the finder window open and the recently added playlist open
itunes will not add files automatically if more than three phases of adding folders to the automatically add to itune folder is refreshed
Once could even jump to the conclusion that the software testing and Quality Control in the iTunes development team had missed out whole chunks of tsting OR that the test designers wrote such basic test scripts which did not replicate real world useage. -
Ok so I updated to iOS 7 on my iPod (5th) it let me update my apps but I cannot download new apps thanks to the terms and conditions. Also my iTunes won't start it just blank, I tried everything I need help
Did you download the new iTunes update that was also released this afternoon? That might be the problem. The new iTunes update came out today as well as the new iOS 7 update and if you haven't downloaded the new iTunes update it may be a compatibility problem so if you didn't, first update to the new iTunes and try again.

iTunes won't open.
I get this message: The iTunes Library .itl file is locked, on a locked disk or you do not have write permission for this file.This may indicate a corrupt preference file with iTunes trying to open the wrong location. Try holding down shift as you launch iTunes then choose the correct file, normally <User's Music>\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl. next, download and install the revo uninstaller http://http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html. use it to clear any existing itunes and/or QuickTime installation configuration information from the PC.

oonce you get into the revo uninstallergo thru to delete itunes hit uninstall on the itunes icon then you will go thru to it will tell u the same nmessage about the feature and network hit cancell then go thru and hit scan (make sure bthe advance scan button is pushed) this will take awhile but go thru the list and hit everything associated with itunes. hit delete then install itunes again. it worked for me hope it works for you! -
My iTunes won't update on my computer. I have windows vista. I can open up itunes and when I click on "check for updates" it asks if I want to download iTunes version 11.1.5 and I click "Download iTunes" but then nothing happens. Sometimes uptop the loading bar will appear but for only a split second. I have tried restarting, shutting down, I cannot figure out why it won't download. What's happening and how do I fix it?

I originally didn't have enough free space to intall the new OS so deleted everything/songs and some podcasts in itunes, backed up on another ipod.that hasn'r been updated so not missing anything, but now can't access\ another new(old) ipod and iphone (and not anytthing now) that wouldn't work on the old OS. due to not having the required itunes upgrade and not upgradeable on 10.4xx
Thanks in advance.After reinstalling itunes like PowerBloodRespect said, go into itunes on your account and connect your ipod. On the ipod summary tab, uncheck the box to launch itunes when the ipod is connected.
You also might want to go into itunes preferences on both accounts.
On the Device tab, put a checkmark in the box to prevent ipods from syncing automatically. -
I did a system update and now iTunes won't apply changes
Yesterday I ran a couple of updates on my iMac and this morning I tried to remove a couple of books off my iPhone and iTunes won't do it. It lets me access the correct screen and deselect the books that I want to remove but when I hit apply it starts the sync process and the puts checks back in all the boxes of books I want removed. In a related issue...Mail seems to be having a similar problem in that I delete a piece of mail and all of a sudden it shows back up in my inbox. Anyone else having this issue or know how to solve it?
No, it is set up to only sync selected books. But I even tried to just remove all books and not sync any and it won't let me do that. It always acts like it is syncing correctly, then all of a sudden all books I'm trying to remove get selected again.
I have a total of 20 books. 9 books are on the phone. I am trying to remove all but one of them and then add one other that currently isn't on the phone. I tried removing the ones I don't want first and syncing with the intention of adding the one I want after the others are removed. It wouldn't remove them. I tried unchecking the box that tells it to sync the books at all and remove everything and when I hit sync it just reverts back to the checked box and the 9 original books. -

My girlfriend's iPad mini is disabled, so I'm trying to connect it to her old macbook (10.6.8), the one which it is associated with. Upon plugging in the iPad, I was prompted to update iTunes, because the iPad is running iOS 7 and needs the latest version of iTunes. I said ok, and iTunes upgraded to 11.
Now, iTunes will not start. When i click on the icon, it bounces once and then nothing else happens. I've tried restarting, creating new accounts, and deleting all the com.apple.itunes preference files, but it's not working. What the ****? I can't undisable the iPad because iTunes won't start. How do I fix this?After updating to OSX 10.9.3, my iTunes won't open. If I try to drag it to trash, I get the message "iTunes can't be modified or deleted because it is required by OS X".

This morning iTunes started refusing to open. When opened it bounces twice and then closes.
Strange, because I didn;t just update. It worked fine after my last update and up until the present. I'm not sure but it could have started happening after I plugged in my iPod Touch 16gb 2.0. I did that sometime this morning.
I did a complete uninstall/reinstall of both Itunes and Quicktime, and I also uninstalled Flip to Mac as I read here it could be related. Restarted my computer many times. Now, same problem, iTunes won't start.
I live in noisy Barcelona and i'm going crazy without tunes...Update... so i backed up files from three folders shown below:
'User'/AppData/Roaming/Apple Computer/
'User'/AppData/Local/Apple Computer/
'User'/Music/iTunes/(all files except music and app folders)
Then I uninstalled iTunes & Quicktime
Restarted Machine
Reinstalled iTunes (which reinstalls Quicktime as well)
Opend iTunes to make sure it worked (it did), then closed it.
Copied all of the original files back over to their original locations.
Restarted iTunes
Everything appears to be back to normal (iPhone sync works properly as well)
Hope this helps for anyone else seeking an answer!

Here's a little background on what's been going with itunes before the recent problem. These past couple weeks I've tried to update my itunes to 8.0.1 through the Apple Software Update. It never worked and at the end of the process it would tell me to try again or do it manually. Also, I downloaded two new videos today that were already in the correct format. I added it to the itunes library with no problem and tried to convert the videos to the correct format just incase it wasn't. It gave me the message that the video was already in the correct format. When I tried to sync it with my ipod it told me the videos weren't in the correct format.
Ok so for the overall the main problem right now is itunes won't open at all. I manually downloaded the update and I restarted the laptop after I finished updating itunes. Since then, itunes won't open and continuously gives me this message "The itunes application could not be opened. an unknown error occurred (-50)". I've restarted my computer a few times and looked up as many forums and solutions I could, but no luck. Please, if someone could help, let me know.
