Itunes won't sign-in with 10.8.3

After updating to Mac OS X 10.8.3 I cannot log-in to itunes store. I fill out my name and password (or that of another account) and it keeps trying to connect then eventually stops after several minutes. I can sign in from my phone an other computers on the network, but not my MacBook Air with 10.8.3

if you have different keyboard settings (for different counties/codings) make sure that the correct one is active. Sometimes even if US is displayed, the active one is not US.

  • ITunes won't play audio with mp4 or mov video

I have wasted many frustrating hours now trying to get iTunes to play mp4 and mov videos but can't get any sound. A few months back it was working fine. Tried ALL the suggested fixes like uninstalling, updating and checking all the MIME/File boxes. When I went back to QT 7.5 and played the files independently of iTunes everything was fine. Quicktime  7.6, 7.67 & 7.7.1 do not play the audio independently or under iTunes and of course iTunes won't play video with QT less than 7.7.1. The same mp4 videos uploaded to my iPOD work fine. I currently have iTunes 10.5.3.3 installed on a Windows XP SP3 on an e-machines pc. Ideas please!!

I got this problem as well. Seems as soon as I moved to version 7.6 it stopped playing my video audio. My music plays fine, but my video audio is non-existant. It's not the file itself because I can play off my iPod (though not off my iPod through iTunes) just fine. I've done all the suggestions above and NOTHING has worked. Is there anything else we can find???

  • Itunes won't open - problem with visualizer?

For some reason Itunes won't open for me - I have had it for ages, never a problem, but I got Leopard last week and now Itunes has crashed. When i try to open it it freezes and then closes, with an error message that says 'the problem may have been caused by the ItunesX Visualizer plug in'.
Any advice on how to fix this? I have uninstalled and reinstalled both itunes and Quicktime, but nothing seems to work.

Same problem here! I'm going crazy. I did those two things you did and NOTHING, nada, help us!

  • ITunes won't sign in using my existing Apple ID

I haven't purchased from iTunes store before. Infact, I still don't immediately plan to... but i need to use the Home Sharing application in iTunes and this requires an active iTunes account.
The first time I tried signing in with my existing Apple ID it said my password or Apple ID was incorrect and re-directed me to create a new account. So i tried to do this (using my same Apple ID) and it kept coming up with an error saying that this ID already existed. So i then tried a different approach and re-set my password (to the same password it was b4) and when i tried to log in after that, it said there was an internal iTunes error and to try again later. And now when i try to log in the error msg comes up "This Apple ID has not yet been used with the iTunes store. Please review your account information" and THEN it re-directs me BACK to setting up a new account. And so the cycle continues!
So frustrating. What am i doing wrong?

I've purchased $350.00 worth of "apple" hardware, (32 gig. ipod touch) and "apple care" and I still have yet, (2 days later), to be able to use the **** thing. Itunes will not verify from my email after i click on their link. It seems that the "apple care " experts don't know what to do either. I've always had a bad taste in my mouth, dealing with microsoft program errors and viruses, but if Apples own staff can't get the ipod touch up & running for my son to enjoy on X-mas, why on God's green earth would I or anyone, choose to use other more important Apple products in our business / personal applications!!!!!!!! I've owned an apple product, (with Apple Care) for 2 days and i already feel that it *****. If they can't help me when I need assistance, I will take this crap back to the store and get my money back or cause a big stink.

  • Messages Beta won't sign in with my apple ID

When i click sign in with my apple ID all i get is the loading wheel. i left it to watch a movie and when i came back it was still going.
Facetime for mac dose the same thing as well.
Any one know whats wrong or how to fix it ?

The AppleID account system operates a bit differently now.
When iCloud went into effect, Apple was encouraging people to unify multiple accounts and account types. Many people did, and some didn't (or the other way around.) There are security reasons why you may not want to.
Accounts can now have associated e-Mail addresses. And these e-Mail addresses can be verified (for better security) or not.
Messages ∫Beta requires that an e-Mail address be associated with the Apple ID you want to use.
So, I'll bet that you actually have more than one Apple ID. And I'll bet that the e-Mail address you prefer is associated with another other ID or that you have no e-Mail address available on that Apple ID account.
When you enter your Apple ID in Messages, and the gear is spinning it means that it can not automatically associate and e-Mail address and it is waiting for you to key one in.
But, if an e-Mail address that you attempt to use is already associated with another Apple ID you will get a notice that says it is unable to verify & use because it is already associated.
So, go to appleid.apple.com log–in (as manage your account) with any new & old accounts that you can remember and see what e-Mail addresses are associated with each of them.
Also, occasionally when initially installing the Messages ∫Beta, you may have to power down your system a second time after you attempt to set up the account. This seems to be a hang, as it is waiting for a valid e-Mail address to be entered.
-Remember, this is a Beta version of the software.
    -Good luck.

I can't seem to get my iTunes to do anything with my store bought CD's. It won't play them, import them.. nothing. Help please! I have had to remove my iTunes, then install again. I ended-up removing my entire library from the computer by accident as well.

I just ran the CD diagnostic report and this is what it reported:

  • ITunes won't sync music with iphone 6

    Hi
i'm facing a stupid problem where my itunes sync photos perfectly fine but when it comes to music it does not I can see the music in the library (on this phone library) but it has some dotted circles beside them when i press sync it will fill the storage bar down below and starts the loading/syncing bar on top it wont show any signs of syncing a single song i have tried restoring the device , adding music manually and sync with Wi-Fi did not work and my phone is a brand new iPhone 6 with plenty of storage available it is frustrating ugh...
    Note:
    im using iTunes 12.0.1
    iPhone 6 64gb running iOS 8.1
sorry for my bad english if you did not understand ask for more explanation
    Thank you

Same issue here, but on an iPhone 4.
Tried multiple combinations of unchecking playlist, reboot mac, reboot phone ... nothing worked.
Re-initialized the phone and bam .. music is synching.
    Hope this helps.
    Good luck.

  • ITunes won't start & messes with computer.

Whenever I click the shortcut to run iTunes, the program never actually shows up. Looking in the Task Manager shows that the process is running, but the program itself is not accessible. I am also unable to end the process. It just doesn't respond. It also displays NO error message.
Whenever I try to run it, not only does it not open like described, other programs follow in its wake and fail to open but they all register their processes as having started.
I've tried, repeatedly, the method I've seen that involves uninstalling QuickTime and iTunes and then reinstalling them separate but to no avail.
    Any ideas?
I've had this problem before but the only way I fixed it was with a reformat. I need iTunes for my iPod and CD management...
    Thanks for any help!

I can't take credit for this and don't remember who to give it to, but it was right here under another topic and it worked for me and was very simple.... so simple I could do it!
I have McAfee and don't know if it will work with any other antivirus program, but give it a try.... it's better than calling tech support, right?
I went and deleted the song that had the error message next to it under download in the activity area on the left on the itunes page or in the itunes folder in "my music" in "my documents". (I read to do this somewhere around here)
Then go to the start menu then to "run", type in <services.msc> (without the ) and click on "ok", scroll down to "McAfee redirector" in that window, then right click on it and then click "stop". I kept that window minimized so I just clicked "start" on the left in that window when I was done getting the song to my library. Be sure to write this all down so it isn't forgotten in case it happens again.
Now open itunes and sign in. Go to "store" on the very top of the page and then click on "check for purchases". it should have the song or whatever you bought that never made it to your library.
Who ever figured this out, thanks a lot! Thanks to you I only had a few minutes of frustration.... I hope it works for you and the others having this problem.

  • ITunes won't complete sync with iPhone or iPad....freezes at contacts

Using iTunes 10.5.3.3 on a Windows 7 OS to sync my iPhone 4S and iPad 2 (both with OS 5.0.1). This is my 3rd iPhone and 2nd iPad, so I'm not new to this. No problems until a few days ago. Now, both devices sit at the syncing contacts screen, and won't ever finish.
    Here's what I've tried:
obviously, restarting iTunes (as well as PC)
    restarting devices
    deleting backups
    resetting sync history
replacing contacts & calendar on next sync
(PC is up-to-date with Windows Update)
Still the same. Not only will it not complete sync, but the calendar entires are all duplicated+++ now on the devices, when they are still correct entries in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007.
This is SOOOOO frustrating. Besides wiping devices and starting again (which I don't really want to do), anyone have any suggestions?

Is your phone hacked? Have you tried restarting your computer and your iPhone? I have found that a majority of problems that happen with iPhone can be solved with a simple reset.
For iPhone to iTunes, you can refer to this page about [iPhone/iPod/iPad to computer or iTunes|http://www.softwarebbs.com/wiki/IPod/iPhone/iPadTo_Computer_Transfer_%26_Backup_SoftwareReviews].
It includes the transferring of music, photos, videos, SMS, Contact ect. between iPod/iPhone/iPad and computer(PC or Mac).

  • ITunes won't sync music with iPod Touch (5th Gen) After 7.0.3 Update.

    Hello,
I am just wondering has any solutions as to what might be the problem.
I have a 5th Gen iPod Touch and up until I updated it to the latest version of iOS 7.0.3 and iTunes 11.1.2.31 everything had been working fine.
Now since that update no new music will sync to my iPod. Applications, Photos and Movies work ok. I buy my music off the iTunes store. If I download an app for instance on my iPod the next time I go to iTunes it starts to download into the libary with no problem.
My computer recognises my iPod and then starts the sync process at the very end it says "Copying diagnostic information" then onto "Waiting for changes to be applied" that last step lasts for about a minute.
I can download tracks and albums onto my iTunes library onto my Windows 7 PC but when applying it onto my iPod nothing gets applied.
So, my question is has anyone found out that Apple is aware of the problem and are they going to fix it with another software update or is there anything that I can do that will resolve this problem.
I have tries de-authorizing my computer and then authrorizing it again to sync content onto my iPod.
The only way for now to get new content onto my iPod is to download directly to my iPod my using "Purchased" in iTunes store.
Thanks for your reponces in advance!
    Best,
    OrlaG

This is what I am experiencing. The top image is a playlist I made on the ipod. The second image in when I go to "On This iPod" > Purchased > Music
Could it be the iPod. All the other tracks work perfectly. Saturday was when this started

  • ITunes won't sync correctly with external hard drive

I have long kept my music on an external hard drive and had absolutely no problems with adding files to my iTunes library. Whenever I added songs to iTunes, they would automatically be copied over to my external device (a Seagate Freeagent 1TB USB External Hard Drive) everything would be fine. I could erase the song data remaining on my notebook without any problems.
But, after recently upgrading to Windows 7, I'm having some trouble keeping everything organized. I did a clean install so I had to reinstall iTunes, and upon doing so I specified for it to access my library from my external device like before. It does that just fine, but when I add songs to iTunes, they don't copy over to the hard drive, and when I consolidate the files, all of my songs get copied onto my notebook hard drive.
Is there a fix to this? Something I skipped when telling iTunes where to get/keep my music? I want to be able to add songs to the library and have them copy directly to my external device.

Hmmmm. By any chance, do you have 4 GB of RAM and an NVIDIA USB EHCI chipset on the Fujitsu? If so, perhaps see the following Microsoft document:
[You encounter problems when you move data over USB from a Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2-based computer that has an NVIDIA USB EHCI chipset and at least 4GB of RAM|http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976972]

  • Itunes won't update nano with new software version

Since the new software update has become available (which I'm hoping might fix my multiples in cover flow issue) I've tried on multiple occasions over a few days to download and install the update on my new nano 4th Gen.
It goes through the licence agreement bit and says it's downloading and will instal when it's done. However after a few minutes it gives an error message that the connection with the itunes server has timed out. It says check your connections and such but all is fine, even itunes own diagnostic connection test is all fine.
I've even tried the restore option but that just dies on it's attempt to get new software too and doesn't get anywhere.
I'm pretty good with computers but this one's now got me stumped.
    Anyone got any ideas?

Are you using a dial-up or broadband internet connection? If your using a dial-up connection, that might be your problem. If your using a broadband connectin and your getting this problem, you might just want to contact technical support.

  • Itunes won't update ipod with videos.

Everytime i go to upload videos, my Ipod itself won't have them on there, although they'll be on my computer/itunes. Also, my ipod will delete every single video on there within a few days. How can i solve this?

iPod touchs (and iPhones and iPads) do not have a disk mode and thus the article you cite does not apply.
    To sync see:
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod
If the iPod does not appear in iTunes:

  • Itunes won't play file with .rm extension, what do I do?

We receive a weekly program via email and it has the .rm extension and won't play in Itunes, therefore won't go onto my ipod. i tried just changing the extension and that doesn't work. i tried importing it both ways into Itunes, and it won't import. It acts like it imported, but doesn't. What does one do?
    thanks.

That I do not know. I don't use Real Player except when it opens for some Internet streaming.
Google might be your best bet if nobody else comes along to post here.
Also read the RP help menu or its manual.
