I have tried to install/uninstall itunes all day. It downloads but now says error 7 (windows error 127). I can't get it to work. Earlier it was a different error which was apple application support.
It downloads but now says error 7 (windows error 127).

ITunes won't open - error message
When I try and launch iTunes I get this error message: "The folder iTunes is on a locked disk or you do not have write permissions for this folder." I have since unistalled and reinstalled V 11. I have also been given admin rights to my machine. I have given myself full rights to this folder. It still won't open. Now I have unistallaed it again and reinstalled V. 10. Same error message. I ran the compaibility report and it say there is an incompatible device but doesn't say which one. Any ideas? I am on a Windows 7 Fujitsu laptop. I had no problems with it until I upgraded recently to V. 11.

Itunes won't start, error 7, windows error 126.
After updating my itunes a few weeks ago, it now won't load and I get the following error message;
the program can't start because avfoundationcf.dll is missing from your computer. try reinstalling the program to fix this.
followed by this error messsge;
itunes was not installed correctly. pleasse reinstall itunes. error 7 (windows error 126).
I've tried numerous things including solutions posted in this forum but I can't fix it. I'm running windows 7 64bit btw. If anyone could please help that would be great, thank you.the program can't start because avfoundationcf.dll is missing from your computer. try reinstalling the program to fix this.
Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. Now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post:
Re: I recently updated to vista service pack 2 and I updated to itunes -
ITunes won't start (error -48)
Installation is going well.
When I start iTunes, I get the licence aggrement. I click I Agree.
After 3 seconds, I get the message:
"The iTunes application could not be opened. An unknown error accured (-48)."
Please help... I want to use my new iPod !Hello, I too am receiving this same error message and code when I try to start iTunes 6.0.1.3
This happened immediately after installing the application over a previous version (6.0)
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and this made no difference. I tried removing the iTunes folder from My Music.. I tried removing the settings directories from Documents and Settings (both All Users and my personal account)... None of these efforts have made any effect.
I have also checked security settings inside the My Music as well as the iTunes program dir -- nothing has changed with the privs in these places, and iTunes has regular access (and thus it was able to create its directories when I deleted them above)
Frustrating. Frustrating. Frustrating.
Does anyone have any idea what error -48 means anyway? -
ITunes won't start: Error is "Windows - No Disk"
Hi all,
So whenever I try to open iTunes, the following happens:
-About 1-2 minutes of the computer "grinding" or "thinking". Lights flashing, etc.
-Error message then pops up. It says "Windows - No Disk" and below that, it says "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into the drive." Below that are buttons for Retry, Cancel, and Continue.
I have Windows XP Pro. Any ideas? Thanks!I am also getting the No Disk error, but only when I plug in my girl's iPod (shuffle). I can click continue or cancel a couple of times and it seems to work fine, but it is still very annoying. We have been using the shuffle without any problems for a few days. When we first got it, we had other problems. We spent about 12 hours between us trying to get iTunes to see the Shuffle. I followed all of the instructions in the KB articles to the letter. I combed the forums and finally found a solution, right before I was about to give up and declare the thing defective. The solution was to give the iPod a different drive letter (P:) than the one automatically given by XP, using Disk Management. This is essentialy the fix suggested by the MS KB article to which you refer.
At any rate, I've got to fix this No Disk issue before she updates her iPod next, or she will freak. I noticed once that after I clicked 'continue' a message box with a rapidly moving green progress bar appeared for a second or two. It looked like the same box that comes up when you attach a storage device like an external hard drive and Windows searches it for pictures, audio, etc. before it displays a list of appropriate actions to take based on the types it finds. No such list appeared, however. I think it is relevant at this point to mention that disk use is not enabled on this iPod.
It looks to me that the Apple software and the OS are fighting for control of the device. Based on what I have read on the forums today, I suspect that my anti-virus might have something to do with it. I am using AVG Free Edition. I can't troubleshoot it right now, because the girl has the iPod.
Any further help that the experts out there can give would be greatly appreciated. Apparently, Shuffle customers are not entitled to free phone or on-line chat support for any period of time. I have read quite a few posts on this type of problem, both in the iTunes and the iPod forums, and I think this is the only one with any attempt at a resolution. Well, except for the guy who said he fixed it by changing a setting in McAffe (sp?). I will also post whatever I find out. -
Hello, i've been working with this issue for more than a week now. Have tried all the solutions on the net without any success.
Windows 7 home premium x64 is installed on the machine.
When trying to use any application using camera shows up a message, that webcam is used by another application. This pops up on Skype and Dell Webcamcentral. Ms Silverlight shows black screen, no message. The device is present under imaging devices in device manager. The driver installed is Microsoft 6/21/2006 ver. 6.1.7601.18208, status "device is working properly". Driver files: ksthunk.sys, usbvideo.sys and ctclsflt.sys after installing webcam central.
Here is what i tried:
1. Installing drivers from Dell.com in the correct order
2. Uninstalling webcam driver and letting windows install the driver from windows update.
3. Uninstalling windows driver and installing Quanta webcam driver before restart. Note, that in all 3 steps quanta driver never showed up in driver details in device manager.
4. Uninstalled skype.
4.Uninstalled all "usb root" in device manager, restarted, windows installed it's drivers, installed Dell_SX2210-Monitor_Webcam SW RC1.1_ R230103.
5. Uninstalled Webcamcentral, downloaded and installed ver 6.1 Skype.
6. Started windows in a clean boot state.
7. Installed process observer. Webcam is used only by skype, but skype gives "camera used by another app" error message.
8. Turned off laptop, removed ac power and battery, pressed power on button for 30 secs.
9. Tried to update driver through device manager - driver is up to date.
10. Reinstalled windows and installed chipset drivers + wireless drivers and let the windows update. Then installed all Dells drivers in the correct order.
11. Restored to the point before windows update and installed Dell drivers in the correct order.
12. Restored to the point after windows update again. Installed ms Silverlight, camera shows black screen. Room is light, tried a sheet of white paper close to the camera.
13. Tried different skype versions again, uninstalled skype.
14. Process observer shows that nothing uses webcam. Supportassist shows failure in webcam at all checkup stages. Supportassist suggests to turn of programs that might be using camera.
15. Tried all the steps before windows reinstall.
16. I gave up and ask for your help.
Here is Supportassist diagnostics log:

After installed, iTunes 10 won't start, error message appears
Hi all,
Could anyone help me solve my problem.
I try to install itunes 10 on my windows vista SP1. After installation, while the application is about to start, there is a message 'the file ituneslibrary.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes'.
Thank you for the solution guys.

Try these directions:

The title of the article does not match what you are seeing, but it has worked for others.
Skip step #2, of course.
In step #7, instead of dragging the file over, I would copy & paste it. That will leave the original in the same spot in case you ever need it again. -
Itunes won't install - error message "Later version already Installed"
I'm a stumped PC Windows XP user - I have downloaded the last few updates to Itunes and each one has said that I already have a later version of Itunes installed. I have uninstalled, deleted and cleaned up all files as suggested by Apple and even gone to the trouble of manually editing the registry to delete all Itunes, Ipod and QuickTime references to see if that will sort it, to no available.
The bit I don;t undersdtand is how can a aletr version than the current one exist unless there are version numbering or date issues.
Anyway I have had to regress to version 7.1.1.5
Any clever people have a clue.... All help much appreciated

ITunes won't run - error message
"iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I have tried many suggestions - Turning off Virus protection (McAfee), Running Ad-Aware and Spybot Search and destroy, and even doing a system restore.
Upon trying to do a system restore i noticed that my computer has jumped ahead to the year 2165.
How is this possible? What would cause this?
Also, when i try to update definitions in my spyware programs, the process fails.
I need help. No viruses are detected when i run any programs.well done uproom_stares!
apologies for the nosy question, but what viruses did the scan pick up?
i've seen cases of W32.Pinfi/Win32.Parite.A cause people vaguely similar sorts of grief:
W32.Pinfi
... but it's not particularly easy to diagnose (from our end of things) because the symptoms aren't tremendously consistent. (i think they might end up depending on what particular .exe files get eaten by a particular infection on a particular machine.)

Please help - iTunes won't start anymore: unknown error -69
Hello out there,
please can anybody help me: all of a sudden my iTunes won't start any more - it only shows a message stating an unknown error -69 and then quits.
I did not change anything on my system before that, so I just don't know what could trigger that...
I am using iTunes 7.0.2 on Windows XP SP2, both German versions.
Before posting this question I searched the archives and tried the following, all to no avail:
1. disabled "safe mode" in QuickTime audio options -> problem remains
2. set speakers to "stereo headphones" in Windows sound options -> problem remains
3. deinstalled iTunes, downloaded the installation file again and reinstalled it -> problem remains
4. deinstalled iTunes and QuickTime, downloaded QuickTime stand-alone version, installed this and afterwards iTunes again -> problem remains
5. deinstalled iTunes and QuickTime again, deleted all iTunes and QuickTime data folders, reinstalled everything again -> problem remains
6. ran a CHKDSK an the drive iTunes is on -> no problems found
It still won't start, always giving this unknown error -69.
Please, does anybody know what to do?
Any hints and help are much appreciated!
Thanks a lot
and best regards
Frank
