ITunes won't sync my contacts and calendar
When I try to sync my iPad or iPhone, it says "syncing contacts with ipad" or, if I disable that, "syncing calendar with ipad" for 30 minutes to an hour. When it finally stops, I find that it never actually synced anything.
I don't see any other topics on this, but it is seriously frustrating. Can someone PLEASE address this issue???
BTW, it backs up just fine.
Thanks.
You might try using calDAV through google to manage calendar and contacts functionality. When you add the google account to the iPad, be sure to select "other" as the account type rather than yahoo, google, aim, mobileme, etc. so you can instruct it specifically to sync the calendar. A websearch on how to setup the calDAV to sync your google calendar to iCal should return something residing in the google.com realm with setup instructions. Once you get it setup properly - it won't care when you enter/change schedule info, it'll keep them in sync.
Hope this helps,
Jennifer

ITunes won't sync my contacts and calendars
Hello all,
I'm having some trouble syncing my contacts and calendars to my iPod, because iTunes say's it doesn't have any available, and then it asks me to open that application.
This started after I forcibly shut down my computer.
I've tried replacing the information by deleting all of my contacts and calendars, and restoring using the Backup application, and I still got the same message asking me if I wan't to open iCal/Address Book.
Any solution will be appreciated.

2.0 GHz Intel Core Duo MacBook; 5.5G black iPod 30GB Mac OS X (10.4.8) Hard Drive: 60 GB; RAM: 512 MBThe most likely solution is to launch iSync
application ,and then in the preferences menu, click
on Reset Sync History button. This resets
configurations for the iTunes iPod sync process that
is dependent on the iSync system database system.
Is this the only way to do this? I am sic and tired of reseting my sync data as .Mac seams to have plenty of it's own issues. I use several computers Two for work and an extra at the office and one extra at home that I would have to then on the next sync accept all of the diolog boxes to get the most recent sync data on each computer. What a pain in the ... Not something that I want to do again as I have done it about 4+ times in the last month. -
Suddenly won't sync all Contacts and Calendars
I’ve been syncing my iPhone 2G with Mail, Contacts and Calendar on Outlook 2007 via USB for over a year without any problems. I recently added a Microsoft Exchange email account to Outlook on my PC but I use it only for email. The Exchange email account is NOT set up to sync with my iPhone. The Calendar and Contacts I use are in an Outlook Personal Folder and not the Contacts and Calendar associated with the Exchange account.
Ever since installing the Exchange account, the iPhone does not recognize my original Contacts and Calendar and is not syncing them. Instead it seems to sync the Exchange Contacts and Calendar, which are empty so now my phone has not Contact or Calendar data.
I have tried replacing Contacts and Calendar using the iTunes/Info/Advanced option but that didn’t work.
In iTunes/Info/Contacts and iTunes/Info/Calendars I don’t have an option to select multiple contact lists or calendars to synch.
How can I get it back to syncing the Contacts and Calendar I actually need?
ThanksI have the exact same problem and it drives me mad - thanks for letting me know if you find a solution. Here is what I will try: export all my contacts from where they are in the pst file in outlook then "try" to reimport them in the ost file (exchange). I noticed indeed that if I create a contact in the ost file, it does get pushed over to itunes.
But there seems to be no way of telling itunes which outlook data file to use in priority, and if you select it as default in outlook you wipe out the content of your mail file on the exchange server. Not great. -
I cannot figure out how to sync my contacts and calendar from my iphone with my windows PC. The message during the itunes sync process is that information is being backed up to both the cloud and my PC. However the Outlook software remains blank. What can I do??

Why isn't it not possible to synchronize with itunes 11.1.4 the contacts and calendars of my iphone and ipad with outlook 2010 as it was possible before with itunes 10?
Hello, Ran12345.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It is still possible to sync contacts and calendars from Outlook using iTunes. If you are experiencing issues with this, here is the best article to go through.

ICloud for Windows 8 doesn't sync my contacts and calendar
Hi,
iCloud for Windows 8 doen't want to sync my contacts and calendar with the local Windows 8 programs.
Look at the first line:
What's wrong?
Thanks in advance for your help, and sorry for my bad English! No, it's "Calendar" from Microsoft Corporation, and "Contacts" from Microsoft Corporation.
They are Windows 8 Modern UI apps, which are installed with Windows 8.1. -
My itunes won't sync my ipad and closes down in the middle of the attempted syn. I have windows 7 ultimate. Any ideas about what to do?
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, attempt to sync with iTunes while logged in as a new admin user. Follow these steps to create a new administrator user within Windows:
From the Start menu, choose Control Panel.
Open User Accounts.
Select Create a new account and follow the instructions to complete the account setup process.
Once the new account is created, choose Log Off from the Start menu.
Log in to the newly created user account.
If the error does occur in the new user account, the issue may be caused by content downloaded or created on the device, such as podcasts and voice memos. Removing content from the device may address the issue.
If the error does occur in the new user account, the issue may be caused by content downloaded or created on the device, such as podcasts and voice memos. Removing content from the device may address the issue.
If these steps do not work at all, I would suggest calling AppleCare at 1-800-275-2273 (assuming your iPad is stilll within support or has an AppleCare Protection Plan) and let them know you have already tried all troubleshooting steps per TS2830. -
I upgraded to Mac OS 10.9 a few months ago.
Up till then I was happily able to sync mac Contacts and Calendar to my Blackberry Curve 9320 via Blackberry's Desktop Manager (for Mac).
Since upgrading the software tells me to that Mac Sync Manager is turned off. I know it isn't because everything else is syncing.
When I hunt through your support I find that there are solutions for this problem for other Mac OS versions but not for Maverick, so please tell me how I can once again use my business phone happily as I did before upgrading!
Many thanks

BlackBerry Desktop Software utilizes Apple's SyncServices technology in order to synchronize Contact, Calendar, Notes, and Tasks information to and from the Mac computer.
BlackBerry Desktop Software synchronizes information with the SyncServices database, which is synchronized with the desktop applications on the Mac computer (for example: Apple Address Book, iCal, Apple Mail, Microsoft Outlook for Mac). BlackBerry Desktop Software does not synchronize directly to or from the desktop applications on the Mac computer.
Mac OS X Mavericks v10.9 and later does not use SyncServices, therefore, it is not possible to synchronize Contact or Calendar information using the BlackBerry Desktop Software on these versions of OS X.
For more information on SyncServices and OS X Mavericks, see the following Apple Support article:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5847
Note: BlackBerry Desktop software 2.4 is still supported for use with Mac OS X v10.6, 10.7, and 10.8.

Upgrade to 10.7.5. See:
Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
Lion System Requirements
1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
or Xeon processor
2. 2GB of memory
3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
4. 7GB of available space
5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply. -
Ipod Classic 80 & iTunes 9 syncing of contact and calendars no longer
Itunes 9 doesn't seem to allow my 80 gg ipod classic to sync contacts and calendars. It says I don't have and and would I like to open iCal/Address Book to create some. I did get one notice that itunes no longer syncs contacts on my ipod... it appeared so fast that I didn't get all of what it stated. Had something about would I like my contacts to be cleared from my ipod. Fortunately they are still on my iPod. Can't believe something as simple as syncing a little contact or calendar file to my somewhat recent ipod no longer is a feature. What up with that. Am I missing something
Having the same problem, and I found a temporary fix. In iCal select the calendar you want on the iPod (you may have to do this multiple times if you want multiple calendars on there) and go to File>Export... name the file as "iSync-whatever your calendar name is" (not sure if the iSync prefix is necessary, but that's what the synced calendars on the iPod look like).
For this next part you need to enable disk usage (a pain, I know, but hopefully this will only be temporary). Go to your iPod>Calendars and drag the .ics file you just exported in there. Then you can turn disk usage off (if you don't plan on doing this several times, if so then better just leave it on till a patch comes out) and eject it.
Hope this helps. I really hope they remedy this soon.

ITunes & Outlook 2010 no sync. of contacts and calendar
Hello together,
I have "iTunes 11.1.5.5", "Outlook 2010" and can't sync. my contacts and the calendar.
Under "Infos" there are no contacts (contackt groups) displayed ...
I went through all support informations, but nothing helped me.
I hope someone has a solution for thes problem.
Thanks in advanceBy any chance are you running any Eset security software products (like Nod32) on that PC?
If so, there's a couple of alternatives.
Either try the procedure in Samoreen's post:
Re: iTunes 11.1.4.62 freezes while syncing with Outlook
Or, see if you can get hold of the Eset beta addressing the problem. As Samoreen notes in another post:
ESET have a workaround for this issue. They gave me access to a test version of the HIPS module and this fixed the problem. So I could re-enable the ESET_OPTIONS environment variable (although I still consider that it's a questionable idea). I upgraded to iTunes 11.1.5.5 and there was no problem.
So maybe you should get in touch with ESET support and request the new module ? Just send a message to Marcos in the ESET forum.

How do I sync outlook contacts and calendar without deleting apps?
I have a second iPad. I wish to sync my Outlook contacts and calendar with my second iPad, however, upon doing so, I am prompted that I will be deleting the apps on the second iPad, which I suffered through yesterday (twice). Ideas on how to get around this? I am wondering how iTunes is not differentiating between the two iPads.
Any assistance is welcomed. Thank you.Hi Bormond65,
Can you tell us a little bit more about your configuration? Are you using Exchange? Are you currently run Outlook for Mac (Office 2011) on your MacBook Pro? Or are you looking to migrate data from a PC to Outlook for Mac on your MacBook Pro? -

iTunes.
If you don't have iTunes installed on your computer click here > http://www.apple.com/itunes/
Once you have iTunes installed, connect your iPhone to your computer. Launch iTunes.
Select the iPhone under Devices left side of the iTunes window.
Select the Info tab from the menu.
You can sync contacts and calendars from there.
