Itunes won't sync with my ipod touch

When I connect my new itouch to the computer, it says Apple Mobile Device support is not detected.
I have tried everything, From completely reinstalling everything to trying to restart the service but when I look through services and my programs, Apple Mobile Device Support is nowhere to be found.
What can I do to fix it?

  • My Outlook calendar won't sync with my ipod touch and vice versa.  Wherever I input the info is where it stays. Contacts and notes sync but not calendar.

My iPod Calendar won't sync with my Outlook Calendar and vice versa.  Wherever I input the information is where it stays.  My contacts and notes sync just fine.  Please help.  Very frustrated.  It used to work just fine.  I just upgraded to iTunes 10.2 version.

I have the same problem since I updated to iTunes 10.2 Sue (I think). For me this was somewhere in January.
I wasn't sure iTunes was the issue, until I read your post. I tested syncing a note, and that works fine.
My 2nd generation Ipod Touch runs on IOS 4.2.1. It won't upgrade to 4.3.
Possibly the synchonisation between iTunes 10.2 and IOS 4.2.1 doesn't work correctly.
Has somebody else solved this isue? I use both calendars (on iPod Touch and on PC) for work and private matters.
Otherwise I have to uninstall iTunes 10.2 and downgrade to 10.2.

  • ITunes won't sync with my iPod, also cannot access store or account

Recently I reformatted my hard drive to partition it.  I backed up my data and was able to upload my previous library into iTunes.  However, I noticed certain purchased songs are now missing.  When I attempted to access my iTunes account I was continually prompted for my login information.  I would put in the correct username and password but the prompt window would return again with no change each time.  Similarly when I attempted to check the iTunes store i was met with a blank page.  Uncertain what else to do I plugged in my iPod Touch to sync the songs to the computer from the device.  The device began charging, but not syncing, and no icon to indicate it was even recognized appeared.
I am really stumped as to what the problem is.  I have searched the boards and found solutions to one symptom or another, but not all of them.  I have tried the recommendations for each individual problem but none have worked in any case.  If anyone knows why all these issues are manifesting at once I would greatly appreciate the help.  This is the first time I've ever encountered any real problem with this software and I'm not sure what to do.

    Yes, I've done that.
I should probably be more specific than I was:  I have a ton of music (not purchased from itunes) on my computer.  I copied several CD's worth into itunes, and synced, but the only thing showing up on the iPod are three CD's that I'd purchased with an itunes gift certificate about a year ago.
So the ipod is actually showing music that isn't currently in the itunes folder on my computer but it won't show the stuff that IS in there.

  • ITunes won't sync pictures to iPod Touch

For some reason, my iTunes will no longer sync pictures from iPhoto to my iPod Touch 1. gen.
I tell it to sync the five last photo albums, but during sync I get a error message saying that the archives I'm trying to synchronize do not exist (well, it says something like that, in Danish).
Any ideas regarding a possible cause/solution to this problem?
    thanks

    No one has any ideas?

  • HELP!  my itunes won't sync with my ipod

When attempting to upgrade to Windows 7, my two month old laptop totally freaked out and had to be sent back to HP to be wiped clean. I just got it back and downloaded itunes to try and get back my extensive music library. When I plugged in my Ipod, it's not syncing with Itunes and giving me back all my music. It recognizes the device, and all the playlists are there, but it's not downloading all the music from the Ipod into the Itunes Library. How can I make this worK?

+Now, are you saying there is no way to get the songs on my ipod back onto my computer? That seems ridiculous.+
You CAN get it back, but there is no way to get it all back using itunes.
For $20, it is probably worth buying CopyTrans or some other 3rd-party ipod manager. My advice is to stay away from the free versions - the free ones seem buggy; the trial versions usually have a limit of songs you're able to transfer until you pay for full version.
+I had a backup, but I cannot get my backup to work with my computer.+
What kinds of back up? Maybe it's worth trying to troubleshoot that, if you don't want to go the CopyTrans route.
Especially if you also have photos and other documents on your backup, and not just music files.
I haven't used CopyTrans myself, but any folks here have said it worked great, and that iLounge article I linked to recommends it. That is what I'd buy if I needed to get something like that.

  • ITunes won't sync info to iPod touch

    Hello,
I keep getting the following error message when attempting to sync my contacts, calendar, and bookmarks with my iPod. When I check these under the "info" tab and ciick apply, the following error message appears:
"iTunes cannot sync information with this iPod because syncing has been disabled on this computer. Do you want to enable syncing? If you do not enable syncing, iTunes will not be able to sync contacts, calendars, bookmarks or mail accounts to your iPod."
When I click yes, the following prompt appears:
"iTunes was unable to load provider data Sync Services. Reconnect or try again later."
When I click OK, it takes away my selections to sync contacts, calendars, etc.
I have never disabled syncing. I've looked through system and iTunes preferences and can't even find an option to disable/enable syncing.
This was after I updated my iTunes. Then I tried reinstalling it but noting.
Any advice about how to resolve this very frustrating problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time.
I'm attempting to setup up MobileMe and need to get this problem resolved.
    Thanks,
    Kouzouz

Ok...I found a fix that worked awesome on my iTouch. The only drawback was that I had to re-import all of my music, but that might have a lot to do with the fact that I fugged with my Library file(s) before attempting this fix. Here goes...
Follow tediknight's process for removal of the offending iTunes 9.1:
here are they programs and you have to delete them in order
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Now go here: http://www.oldapps.com/itunes.php?old_itunes=54#download and pick the version you would like. If you've got an iTouch, you're going to have to pick a version 9.0 or newer...which doesn't give much wiggle room. I picked the most recent version before the 9.1 clusterfug (9.0.3 and in my case 64 bit) because I knew that version had worked right up until the update. If you have a 64 bit Windows system, MAKE SURE you pick a 64 bit build. Otherwise, you're just wasting your time downloading and will have to start all over.
I spent three days solving this problem, and now I'm back up and running. (Other than still having a thousand or so songs to move back into iTunes. But, like I said earlier, that may have been my own fault, or my inability to follow the instructions to restore my library. The files are still there.)
I hope this helps some folks out. I know I was frustrated to all **.

  • My itunes won't sync with any ipod.

I connect my ipod classic and it says it is syncing, but once finished nothing has changed. I tried using my sons ipod too (nano), the same thing happens. Ive re set ipods, used different USB wires/ports, reinstalled itunes to make sure i have the latest and checked for windows updates. I'm a bit worried about restoring my ipods cos all my music will come off of it, also assuming its not the ipod as happening with al ipods not just one. Hopefully some one can help.

Double check to make sure podcasts and configured to sync to your device from under the iPod's Podcast configuration tab.
To access the Podcasts tab for your iPod, plug your iPod in and click on it from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes.  This will bring you to the Summary tab. Along the top you should see a Podcasts tab, so go ahead and click on it.  Here you can configure how and what podcasts sync to your iPod.
If you do make any changes to do this tab, make sure to hit the Apply button in the lower right hand corner to apply the update changes to your device.

  • The songs I just purchased on iTunes won't sync with my iPod Nano?

I just purchased a couple songs from iTunes.  I can't sync those songs onto my iPod Nano.  I am using my iPod's second computer.  I think I've tried everything!  Am I screwed or just stupid?

Make sure you have selected all ones (or playlists, artists, or however you organize them) for syncing in iTunes.
Attach you device to your computer; select it in the Devices list; in the main iTunes window, select the Muic tab ang check your selections/options.

  • Itunes won't sync with my ipod even though it says it is

Everytime I connect my 80GB ipod to sync new songs onto it, itunes says that it is syncing my songs, but it really hasn't. itunes will go through the steps on the display place that says it is, but none of the new songs I added will come up, nor will they appear on my ipod. I tried updating itunes, but that didn't work. I was thinking of uninstalling and reinstalling, but I don't want to lose any songs on my itunes since a lot of the songs I have are imported from CDs. Any suggestions would be great!
Also, my ipod will constantly freeze when connected to my computer. I have to hold menu and the middle button to get it to restart. If anyone has anything for that, that would be awesome, too.
Oh, and I am running itunes on Windows 7 if that helps at all.

You need to authorize the computer for each iTunes Store account, which can be done from the Store menu.

  • I have moved my music to my new mac air but now it won't sync with my ipod or my iphone 4s

I have transferred mymusic to my new mac air from an acer laptop via an external hard drive and it's all there on the mac but now itunes won't sync with my ipod touch or my iphone 4s.
With the ipod it says 'iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. Could not connect to the device " It also doesn't show up at all in the devices section.
With the iphone it says there isn't enough space to sync even though I have experimented and unticked various things including photos which takes up a lot of space. It seems like it wants to sync with the empty space on the iphone (very small!) and not with the whole thing. I have tried various things suggested on this forum but have had no luck.

  • ITunes on my Mac Mini won't sync with my iPod nano. Any suggestions

Does anyone know why my iTunes won't sync with my iPod nano.  When I follow all the directions, the last step says "Click on Apply", but there is no "Apply" on the screen.

  • I have itunes set up to sync with my Ipod Touch and my Ipad.  As of today, it keeps looking for an iPhone to sync with and give me an error message.  I don't have an iPhone and don't know how to stop it from popping open with this error message.

I have Itunes set up to sync with my Ipod touch and Ipad.  As of today, iTunes has started searching to sync with an iPhone, which I don't have and pops open with an error message stating it cannot locate the iPhone to sync.  I have looked in devices and only the iPad and iPod Touch are listed.  Any ideas on how to stop iTunes from searching for any iPhone it is never going to find? It is annoying to have it popping up all the time with the error message.  Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

You should really read the manual.
"How do you restore from backup? "
Restore.  When given the choice, choose to use backup.
"And how can I check to see if the pics and videos are on my computer somewhere first??"
They would only be where you put them.  What program did you use to import them?  Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all.  You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer.
