ITunes won't update--says playlists nonexistent

I had too many songs on iTunes for iPod to carry, so iTunes made a separate playlist. I deleted stuff from my library, then deleted the playlist so it would sync with the whole library again. Now I get a message saying, "iPod could not be updated because all of the playlists selected for updating no longer exist." How do I transfer playlists anyway? It never did that in the first place, except for the one it created, and now I can't get any new stuff on there.

Downloading of iTunes issues on Windows are most commonly related to security, firewall or anti-virus software blocking access. Disable them and try downloading again.

  • IPod Nano Won't update, says playlists no longer exist,

I am really getting frustrated with my iPod nano. First it started off by not updating songs. Then it started to erase songs when i connected it to itunes. So i erased everything hoping that would fix it. But now when I try to put them back on the computer says iPod update complete but there are no songs. It also say that the iPod can't be updated because the playlists no longer exist.
If anyone knows how to fix this problem please respond as soon as possible.
    Thanks

Ok, first try a restore. Next, on the playlist issue...
Did you delete the playlists from iTunes? If so, then the iPod is trying to automatically update, but it can't, since the playlists no longer exist. Try putting your iPod into manually update; you can find that in the iPod Options tab.

  • Latest update for iTunes won't update - says path cannot be found!

I am trying to update iTunes.  I have iTunes version 11.1.0.126 and my computer runs on Windows XP v. 5.1.  The iTunes.msi installer is downloading to a folder on my computer but then both automatic and manual update fail and I am getting a message saying the "network resource is unavailable" and directing me to choose another path.  When I check the path I see that it is entirely correct!  When I click on OK i get another message saying iTunes.msi cannot be found!  What gives?

Did you ever get an answer?  I also have Windows XP and cannot update it gives me the same error you got.  The updates were working just fine, then one day when I ran the updates I got the eror so I quit the update.  So every subsequent update iTunes said was available will not work. Prior to the first error, I had done nothing new to my computer.  PLEASE let me know if you got this issue solved and if so, what did you have to do.

  • IPod won't update, Says Playlists Don't Exist Anymore So Can't Be Updated

I think this might be because I used to have too much music for my 20 GB iPod, so there was a playlist my Mac created called "My iPod" and had music selections on it. but then I deleted a couple of albums from my computer so I could have all of the music on my iPod that I wanted, thinking iPod could just update my library onto my iPod as it used to do.
I would love to update my iPod so any advice is much appreciated. I have a 3rd gen iPod, iBook G4.
    Many Thanks.

You'll just have to make sure the playlists equal less tahn 20 (18.7) GB. This may mean cutting or two playlists down in size, or cutting one or two playlists.
Once you do that, go to edit\prefs\iPod, and check the boxes by all of the playlists totalling less than 20 GB.

  • ITunes won't update, unistall or re-install.

iTunes won't update or unistall. When I try, it says the installer source doesn't exist. When I tried to just reinstall it fresh, it says the old versions of Bonjour, iTunes and Quicktime can't be removed. Any solution for any of this?

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeksare worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select anyiTunes, QuickTime and Bonjour entries and click "Remove".
Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • My iTunes Won't update apps

My iTunes Won't update apps when i click check update it say"your iTunes library is up-to date"
awhen i check update From iPhone the it update all apps which are out dated

It sounds like you've already done the things that would fix most  iPhones.
You can try restoring your iPhone.
If that doesn't do it, try contacting Apple through Express Lane. They may be able to gather some aditional logs and pinpoint the exact problem.

  • My itunes won't update from 10.0 to 10.5.

My iTunes won't update from 10.0 to 10.5.  Every time I try it says that the itunes64 folder is missing.  I have tried to download it manually and repair the connection to the folder but it still won't download.  Please help.

Every time I try it says that the itunes64 folder is missing.
Doublechecking. Is it saying that the itunes64.msi can't be found?

  • My iTunes won't update on my computer. I have windows vista. I can open iTunes and when I click "check for updates" it asks if I want to update to iTunes 11.1.5 and I click "Download iTunes" but then nothing happens. What's wrong?

My iTunes won't update on my computer. I have windows vista. I can open up itunes and when I click on "check for updates" it asks if I want to download iTunes version 11.1.5 and I click "Download iTunes" but then nothing happens. Sometimes uptop the loading bar will appear but for only a split second. I have tried restarting, shutting down, I cannot figure out why it won't download. What's happening and how do I fix it?

Try updating using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:

  • Itunes won't update, ipod unusable without it

I have an ipod touch. I have been really good about keeping my itunes up to date. The last version I updated to was early this year. It keeps telling me I need to update but that it failed to update after download and that I need to manually install.
I plugged my ipod in and it asked me to update the ipod software so I did. Then it tells me that the ipod won't work unless I have the 10.0.1. But when I go to itunes and download itunes 10.0.1 it downloads but won't install and tells me I have an invalid drive F:/. I don't even have a drive F. I can't use my ipod now, I turn it on and I have the picture of the ipod being plugged into itunes. But itunes won't update. Nothing online or in any thread I have found has given me a solution. I am very frustrated. Is there anything I can do? Or do I need to uninstall itunes and lose all my music and apps?

I just put a flash drive into a USB port and then it started the install and when it asked where I wanted to put it I changed it from drive F to C.

  • ITunes won't update or open?

I attempted to update my iTunes on my macbook yesterday and apparently I didn't close the app before I started the update, so it gave me a warning message that in order to complete the installation I had to close iTunes...yet when I clicked on the app to close it I got another error message saying that I couldn't open iTunes during the updating. So, how exactly can I close the app if I can't open it? It looks like it's already closed itself when I started to update it but it keeps telling me it's open. The error message won't go away, either, and it's been on my screen ever since it popped up. Is there a way just to force-quit all my apps or something? Help please I need my music!

  • My itunes won't update; therefore, I can't sync my music to iphone

When I open itunes, a message pops up that there is an updated version and asks me if I want to download it.  I click download, the message disappears, and then nothing.  I currently have version 11.04.4.  When I try to sync my iphone with itunes, it tells me it won't do it because it requires version 11.1 or higher.  I have tried going to apple.com and clicking the download for the itunes update, but that doesn't seem to work either.  It says I downloaded it, but as far as I can tell, I didn't because I keep getting the same message in itunes that an updated version of itunes is available and asks me if I want to download it.  I have checked to see if my pop-up blocker is too sensitive.  As far as I can tell, it's set on "low."  I am not computer savvy at all.  Can someone please help?

I realize this is a dumb question, but as I said, I am not computer savvy.  After the download was complete, no pop-up box occurred prompting the install, so as you said, I clicked on start to try to search for the download of it.  What do I look for to find the download of the new itunes version?  I am embarrassed to be so dumb about this and appreciate any help I can get. Thanks.

  • ITunes won't update

When I try to update through iTunes and after it downloads it says an error has occurred try and download again. Then I went on apple.com and tried that way and the installer downloaded. Then when it tried to download after a while it says an error occurred. Configuration couldn't complete so try again. So I did and same thing happens every time. I just bought an Iphone 6 Plus 128g and a I have also a 5s that I can't connect to itunes and restore. So as of right now this is a big inconvenience. I don't have anything on my phones. Thanks for any help.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes (similar to those above) and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if iTunes won't install normally.

  • ITunes won't run - says AppleApplicationSupport missing.

My iTunes won't open because it says the AppleApplicationSupport is missing. I checked, and it was there.
I uninstalled it, and then tried to re-install from most recent files available from Apple, but it won't install now because it says a new version is already there (although it is now gone and the version I'm trying to install is the latest avaible)
I had recently performed some registry cleaning and program elimination to help improve my computer's speed - so I'm sure botched something up.
    Can anyone help?
