Itunes won't work because of missing "MSVCR80.dll" ?

I am unable to start up itunes on my pc.  It gives the above error when I try.  I have tried three times to re-install directly from apple.com and have tried the update.  Nothing has been succesful and every time I receive the same error.  Any suggestions?

  • TS3704 Trying to delete I Tunes because of missing MSVCR80.dll followed instructions from Apple to delete - Apple Mobile Device support keeps coming up its being used I have gone to program files deleted what I can from folder but left with 3 files

I have been getting the MSVCR80.dll missing message.
Been on the Apple site and following instruction.
Going down the list has instructed I have Deleted I Tunes.
    Deleted Apple Software Update
But when I try to delete Apple Mobile device it wouldn't delete so went into program files has the instructions say by going to Program Files\common Files\Apple\Apple Mobile Device Support Folder.
It still wouldn't delete saying it was being used.
I opened the file and highlighted all the folders and pressed delete, most of them have disapeared into my recycle bin but the folder still holds AppleMobileService, AppleMobileDeviceService_main.dll and MobileDevice.dll.
Message when I right click the first file is AppleMobileService I am told this action can't be completed because file is open in Apple Mobile Device. Close and Try again.
When I click the next file AppleMobileDeviceService_main dll it says  It comes up with This action cannot be completed and File description Apple Mobile Device Service. Company Apple Inc. File Version 17.323.0.9 Date Created 7/9/2013. Try again...... and finally  MobileDevice.dll come up with same message but file version 710.0.0.4 Date Created 7/9/2013 Size 902KB Both say Try Again but the same thing just recurred.
I have left my lap top on hoping that I a swift reply.
I am certainly no computer wizard and simply trying to follow the instructions to get rid of the box which keep coming up everytime I switch the lap top on saying APS Daemon.exe-System Error. The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.  I had looked at the internet and there appears to be warnings not to click on the button.
I have had an apdate from Apple for the I Tunes but it wouldn't update. I thought that may have sorted it so whilst I had a few hours I thought I would go through the process that is advised on Apple's website.
I hope I have not ruined my computer. I haven't even tried deleting Bonjour or Apple Application Support (I Tunes 9 or later) has these are supposed to come after the step I am on.
    Please HELP!!!!!

  • Itunes won't open-can't find MSVCR80.dll

Running Windows XP. downloaded the latest undate to i tunes and the system won't open.  Message says can't find MSVCR80.dll.
Reloaded Itunes but get the same message.  Help

Welcome to the club. So far the only proposed remedy to complete the upgrade is to do an iTunes (and related software) rip and replace. See the details in numerous posts to this forum.
If you want to hang in there for a while to see if Apple can figure out the problem and provide a functioning 11.1.4 upgrade you can try reverting to a Windows restore point created prior to the failed upgrade attempt. Don't know if that's an XP option though.
Note to self: always create a Windows restore point before allowing any Apple software upgrade attempts!

  • ITunes won't work because of domain group policy

Hi my work just implemented a really stupid group policy through our domain that dissallows any file named iTunes.exe to run. The good news is I can rename iTunes.exe and get iTunes to work. That bad news is once I rename iTunes.exe the iPod service is unable to start. The iPod service I assume is what automatically launches iTunes when you plug in your iPod. Does anyone know if a way to let the iPod service and any other file that depends on iTunes.exe that I have renamed it?

I don't have a solution for you, but as a system administrator I feel I must comment.
I don't know about where you work -- but at my job, deliberate circumvention of policy is "abuse" and is considered grounds for termination. The computer you use at work is not yours; it belongs to the company you work for.
If you have a problem with the policy you should take it up with the administrators or your management -- not try to circumvent it. Perhaps the policy is based on a misunderstanding that you could clear up! You (your computer, really) might even be granted an exception to the policy.

  • Itunes won't work because of quicktime

I try to open itunes...and recieve a message reading..."Quicktime version 7.0.2 is installed, Itunes requires Quictime version 7.0.3 or later. Please reinstall Itunes."............well i do and it still doesn't work...what can i possibly do now??

I'm going through the SAME ****. I install Itunes and quicktime seems to go ok until the end of the installation and then all **** breaks loose. Some error comes up saying that I can't install it. THEN It says the installation finished successfully. So I click finish and what happends now is that it specifies that I need to update my quicktime to open itunes... I dont care about Quicktime, i want itunes to work, anyone have a link to an older STANDALONE version of itunes? Where you don't need quicktime?

Solving MSVCR80 issue and Windows iTunes install issues.
If the above doesn’t do the trick entirely, then use the instructions in the following as it applies to the version of Windows you are using:
HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP
HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
You may be required to boot into safe mode to complete the folder deletion process.

  • ITunes wont open because I'm missing msvcr80.dll? It said to remove iTunes and install again but it wont work, HELP?

I just want my iTunes back I think I accidentally deleted msvcr80.dll? What should I do?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • HT1926 i had itunes on my pc for a number of years. worked fine last night even. today, nothing, screen gave error 7, windows error 126, tried removing and re-installing, still same message. says I am missing MSVCR80.dll

I have had Itunes on my pc for years. Worked fine last night. Today it gave me a message missing MSVCR80.dll, tried reinstalling, didn't work. Removed Itunes completely, reinstalled. Didn't work. Same message. Any fix ideas?

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

Apple isnt here. this is a user based forum for technical questions. The solution is to restart, reset, and restore as new which is in the manual after that get it replaced for hard ware failure. if your within your one year warranty its replaced if it is out of the warranty then it is 199$

    Missing MSVCR80.dll file.
    Error 7 (Windows error 126)
I tried to download iTunes again from the website and repair the problem, to no avail.  I've tried several times, but cannot get it to open. I have a Windows 7 machine.  My iPhone 5 and iPad work fine and have not asked me to update. I've never had a problem with iTunes before.  I hate to delete it entirely from my computer and start over.  I'm afraid I'll lose all the music I have downloaded there. What do I do?
