ITunes won't work on iPod Touch.

I'm having troubles accessing iTunes via my iPod Touch. When I select it on the home page, it opens, then loads for 3 or 4 seconds, and then the screen goes black for a second and it returns to the homepage. I've tried restarting the iPod, but it doesn't help at all.
Any input is most appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Assumng that your problem is that iTunes does not see the iPod try:

    - First see if resetting the iPod will make it visible in iTunes so you can restore the iPod.
    - Next see if placing the iPod in recovery mode will make it visible.  For recovery mode see:

  • ITunes won't recognize my iPod Touch 2G

I bought a used iPod Touch 2G. Everthing seems to be working with the iPod but my iTunes V11.1.5.5 won't recognize it when I plug it in. I am using a laptop with Windows 8. In File Explorer it shows 'Apple iPod' under 'This PC'. I have gone to Services under Computer Management and restarted the Apple Mobile Device to no avail. Drivers are up to date.

  • ITunes won't recognize my iPod touch after a failed update--my iPod is stuck on the "plug into itunes" screen

Yesterday, I had bought myself an ipod touch and it was working just fine until today when I went along with an itunes prompt to update my ipod.  It failed to update and now won't recognize it, I checked to see if it was recognized by my computer--and it is, but a thing pops up that says "access denied" whenever I try to click on it.  The screen on my ipod is stuck wanting me to connect to itunes.

  • Itunes won't recognize my ipod touch

i've recently bought a new laptop with windows 7 64-bit. when I installed the itunes for 64bit to my computer and tried to synchronize it with my ipod, nothing appeared
I figure it out that this computer somehow recognize my ipod as a digital camera.
so i surfed throught the web to find the solution for this another itunes error
i figured out that going into device manager and updating the apple ipod will fix this problem.
so i did following: right-click 'apple ipod', -> click 'browse my computer for driver software', -> click 'let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer' -> click 'have disk' (in the model box, it says "MTP USB device"), and then it told me to insert the disk, so i browse through my computer and found  "usbaapl64" in inf format which is what i need, so i clicked open then ok, but this thing appears that says "the folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with windows for x64-based systems."
    im literally panicing.
i tried reinstalling the itunes, repairing it put it doesnt do anything.
i know i downloaded the itunes for 64bit users and that i opened usbaapl file with '64' at the end.
please help me, i really need to synchronize my ipod

  • ITunes Won't Sync with iPod Touch

Since migrating to my new iMac my old iPod Touch would not sync with iTunes. After following the articles on reinstalling the mobile device support I found that the iPod would only sync with iTunes once before it was necessary to reinstall again. Not very helpful.
Anyway, the solution is here! Run software update, as there is an iPhone SDK patch ready and waiting for you. Downloaded and restarted the iMac, and hey presto we have an iPod again, hoorah.

Bingo! Worked for me too (running Software Update and installing the iPhone SDK update).
I'm also staggered that this isn't explicitly mentioned as a likely fix in the general troubleshooting page for this connection problem on this site. As someone who diligently -- but manually -- downloads all patches and updates, I never use Software Update, and yet I could not find the iPhone SDK update available to download manually.
Background: my 2nd gen iPod Touch refused to be recognised by iTunes after upgrading my machine to Snow Leopard. iPod recognised by iPhoto and in iTunes on another Mac. Tried every troubleshooting item on the list at:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1591 and http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1747
Notice that the suggestion to try Software Update is way down the list and is easy to disregard if you prefer to update your machine manually, as I do.
Given the number of users with this problem (I've read through dozens of posts looking for a fix for a good three weeks now) you'd think someone at Apple would reorder the troubleshooting list or at least highlight this option. Hopefully anyone else with this issue will stumble upon this thread, as I did, and get a happy result.

  • Mail (through iCloud) won't work on iPod Touch

I've signed up for Cloud on my iPad. Everything works fine, including Mail (although I had to sign up for a new email address, [email protected]). However, if I want to use Mail on my iPod Touch, it won't launch. All I get is the "Welcome to Mail" screen with the various options (Hotmail, Exchange, Gmail, iCloud, etc.). When I tap "iCloud" and fill in my Apple ID and password, it says I'm already connected to iCloud. Mail won't launch and I'm also not receiving any mail. What do I do?

    Hi...
On your iPod Touch go to Settings>iCloud and ensure that "Mail" is set to "On".

  • IPod touch is stuck on "connect to iTunes" but iTunes won't recognize my iPod touch

So I was trying to update my iPod touch and left the room, thinking I had plenty of time to get stuff done while I waited. When I returned there was a warning saying that my iPod touch couldn't be updated and my iPod screen was stuck on the "connect to iTunes". I tried reconnecting and iTunes will not recognize it. I've tried restarting my computer and my iPod and I've tried reinstalling iTunes and restoring my iPod, but nothing is working. Any suggestions?

    - Try placing the iPod in Recovery mode and then restoring
    - Next try DFU mode.

  • ITunes won't recognize new iPod touch

Last night I purchased a new iPod touch. When I try to connect it to iTunes; I get the following message:"This iPod cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install iTunes again."
I have uninstalled (removed) my current version to iTunes andinstalled the latest version of iTune and still get the same message.
    Any ideas?

ok i figured it out.. not what was wrong but what to do.. you have to restore your system without having the iPod connect of course.. then uninstall itunes and quicktime then delete every trace of them from your computer. (once you reinstall iTunes you will get back everything you had) then once you restart your computer reinstall itunes and restart your computer again. now plug ur iPod Touch in the computer and it will work then.
same thing happened to mine.. it took a while to figure it out but i got it...
you have to uninstall them then delete it from program files... now it works perfectly

  • ITunes won't connect to Ipod touch

Hi I have an iBook G3 with OS 10.4.11. The latest version of iTunes I can download is 8.2.1. I just bought an iPod Touch 3rd generation 32 GB from which I thought I could use with this version of OS and iTunes. Turns out when I plug it into my laptop, it says that this version of iTunes will not support iPod Touch. When I go to the download page for iTunes, it says that 8.2.1 does support iPod Touch. I tried redownloading 8.2.1 to no avail. Can someone please help me? I am in the process of trying to save enough money to buy the new MacBook Pro but until then I need help!
    Thank you

It does seem odd that a Mac with 10.4.11 and iTunes 9 will not sync.  The Apple page for the OP iPod model states 10.4.11 and iTunes 9: http://store.apple.com/us/product/FC008?mco=MTM3NzY1NzA  So if iTunes 9 did properly install it is curious what the issue would be?  >I tried installing the iTunes 9 and it installed but still when I plug the iPod in, it says I need 10.1 or later of iTunes

  • ITunes won't sync with iPod Touch after factory reset

I recently bought a used iPod Touch 3rd Generation 32GB and I erased and reset all settings on the iPod. It told me on the iPod to hook it up to iTunes, so when I got home that's what I did but I can't use my iPod on iTunes. The only thing that pops up is upload images which it can't because it is a 3rd Generation iTouch.
    HELP PLEASE

    Start with some basic steps:
    - Restart both your computer and iPod
    - Try another usb cable
    - Try another usb port in the computer
    - Make sure iTunes is up to date
    - Temporarily disable any security software and/or firewalls
