Itunes wont burn my exported garageband songs

When I export my garageband song to itunes, and try and burn it to disk, a messsege pops up and says " Nothing in this play list can be burned to disk!" what is this about? I've burned other GB songs before.

Seems like we have the same problem. I purchased a G4 and tried to create songs from garage band and exported to iTunes. I can actually burn the cd but won't play in my cd player. Did this ever happen to you? I don't know what I did wrong. This is my first time to use garage band. Have you solved your issue yet? Thanks!

  • Burning CDs with Garageband Songs- TOO QUIET!

    Hello,
I can't seem to burn CDs from iTunes of songs I recorded in GarangeBand without them being really quiet. I have to crank my CD player up one or two notches higher than pre-recorded CDs.
Any suggestions on boosting the signal? I know I can add EQ, preamp and volume adjustment in iTunes to my Garageband Songs, but none of that transfers to the CD.
Surely someone else has encountered this frustration. I am trying to make CDs as demos and teaching aids. The recordings sound great in GB - just quiet on the disc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Leo

I keep all of iTunes' enhancements "off" ... it's possible that if you have iTunes set one way you're actually fighting what you create in GB. You should hear a different when you change the final output of a GB project. Raising the final volume (either via the fader, compressors, or expander, etc) should change what you hear in iTunes.

  • ITunes wont burn all songs in a playlist

I am trying tyo burn a cd from my playlist. I have all the songs selected but when I hit the burn button, several of the songs become unselected and it then burns only the remaining selected songs. There appears to be sufficient space on the CD and I am receiving no error message.

Go to Edit\Prefs\Burning, and see if you're set to 'mp3 cd.' If you are, AAC files will be skipped.

  • Itunes wont burn my CD disc error 4280?

I have a toshiba satellite computer running windows 7 and itunes 11. It wont let me burn my playlist to a disk. Im using memorex CD-R blank cd. I have tried every disc write speed and nothing worked and ran diagnostics everything checks out. Can someone help me?

I tried the same thing on an HP Touchsmart, using Windows 7.  I highlight songs in my iTunes music library and create a new playlist.  I right-click on the playlist and start the burning process.  I am prompted to put a blank disc in the drive, which I do.  Then I have two more prompts, which ask me about the format of the content I wish to create.  Once that's done, the burning starts.
It seems that for every playlist I burn, I ruin one disc.  It seems that either at the beginning or at the end of the burning process that an error occurs and burning is cancelled.  This is very frustrating.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

  • Ipod not updating new exported garageband songs

hey...i'm working on a song and re-recording things a lot in garageband. When i export the changes, itunes opens normally and the new version of the song is there. I play it from itunes and it's great. But when i update my ipod, the song doesn't update! I've found the only way to fix this is by renaming the song in itunes and then updating the ipod. Anyone having this problem?

I have had that same problem. I just unmount my ipod then plug it back in and updates automatically. Hope that helps.
Nice name by the way. haha.

  • Itunes wont play some of my songs...and it used to!

I had to reinstall windows ... as i have done several times in the past.. and when i added my music folder, which is on an external HD, over 500 songs wont add to the library. they will play in QT and WMP but not in itunes. when clicked itunes will open but then nothing...doesnt even show the song in the list.
Here is an example of a song that will not play, show up, or anything:
    21 guns - Greenday
    mp3 audio
    8.66 MB
    Protected - NO
    Duration - 0:06:12
    bit rate - 224kbps
    channels - 2(stereo)
    audio sample rate - 44kHz
i thought maybe something happened to all the songs around the same date but thats a no go. i have advanced mp3 catalog pro to organize my music and it has id3 editor v.2 but i use that for ALL my music not just these songs that now wont play. i tried removing the tag completely and recreating it and that also did not work. i have unintalled all itunes, apple, and quicktime applications and reinstalled ...still nothing. what now?

    iamoph wrote:
they will play in QT and WMP but not in itunes.
If you don't mind a little brute force, convert them to WAV and then back to MP3:
Use a 3rd party tool such as Switch to convert them to WAV. The conversion to WAV will wipe out every peculiarity of tags, etc (WAV is essentially just pure PCM-encoded music). Put the WAV into your iTunes library, make sure it plays, and then use iTunes to convert it to MP3.

  • Itunes wont burn a playlist

For some reason I am getting an error message when I try to burn certain play lists from my iTunes. The message is, "The attempt to burn disk failed. The device failed to calibrate the laser power level for this media." What is kind of weird is that I just got done burning a disk about 10 min ago. Could it just be that certain songs can't be read by iTunes? Please answer soon. I'm trying to get some CD's made before I make the 6 hour dive home for spring break.

Ok, so I just found out that it was one song that iTunes couldn't burn. When I deleted the song, the disk started burning. Why would one song cause that. Is there any way to prevent that from happening?

  • Itunes wont lets me download a song because its not authorized?

itunes says the song is on my ipod but its not and when i download my ipod it says some songs arent authorized....i tried to authorized it with my husbands account but it still says its wrong

You need to login to the account for which you purchased the music with. First log out of that account (iTunes store, top right hand corner email, click the tiny arrow on that, sign out). Then sign in with the one you purchased the music with (iTunes store, top right, click on sign in). Then go up to the store menu in iTunes and click it.  Click authorize account. That should fix it. Using your husbands account will not work unless that account purchased the music. It is apple's way of dealing with piracy

  • Itunes wont burn any music....please read

Hey everyone, itunes thinks ALL my CDR's are full. Everytime I try and burn music from my playlist onto a blank cd, my laptop pops the CDR out and says...Please insert a blank disk. It does this with EVERY CDR that I have put in the drive. Any ideas? I have the latest version of itunes. thanks again....please email me directly at [email protected]

Two things worked for me. Both are probably temporary.
    * I re-installed. Worked ok for a couple of days.
    * Easier. I deleted the preferences file. USER/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes.plist. I re-booted. Don't know if that was necessary. Music again. I think it will fail again. Something is corrupting Preferences.
I have used the same technique with other programs; Photoshop and Excel. When a program starts misbehaving, it is sometimes because the Preferences file has become corrupted.
    Good Luck.

  • Newest version of iTunes wont burn or sometimes eject cds

Ever since I downloaded the latest update, Ive had nothing but problems with itunes. It checks playlist and says its writing the list but nothing happens....at all. When I quit the burn it takes literally days for it to stop and eject, very frustrating. What can I do....can I just downgrade to the last itunes?

    Hello,
Which Mac do you have? And have you checked the drive for any possible problems lately?
Testing and repairing a disk or volume
When you have problems with a disk or volume, use Disk Utility to test and repair it. Disk Utility also reports the S.M.A.R.T. status, which tells you whether your disk has hardware problems that will cause it to fail.
To repair a disk, you need an administrator's password. If you don't have one, ask an administrator to repair the disk with Disk Utility for you.
You can verify your startup disk with Disk Utility, but to repair it, you must start up your computer using another disk. For example, you can use your Mac OS X Install disk.
In addition, you cannot test or repair write-protected disks, nonrecordable CDs or DVDs, or disks with open files.
Close the files and quit the applications on the disk that you want to repair.
Open Disk Utility, and select the disk in the list on the left.
    Click First Aid.
Check the S.M.A.R.T. Status at the bottom of the window. If you can't see the S.M.A.R.T. Status, be sure you selected the hard disk your volume is on, and not the volume itself.
If the S.M.A.R.T. Status is "About to Fail," back up your files on the disk as soon as possible and replace the disk.
If the S.M.A.R.T. Status is "Verified" or "Not supported," click Repair Disk to repair the disk.
If Disk Utility cannot unmount the disk, be sure you have quit any open applications and click Repair Disk again. If it still cannot unmount the disk, repair it just like you would repair a startup disk, by starting your computer from another disk, such as your Mac OS X Install disk.
If Disk Utility tells you to look for links to corrupt files in the DamagedFiles directory, some of those files are overlapping on your hard disk and are likely to be corrupt. Examine the affected files, each of which is listed in Disk Utility's output on a line that begins "Overlapped extent allocation". Most of these files have aliases in the DamagedFiles folder at the top level of the affected disk. If you can replace the file or recreate it, delete it. If it contains necessary information, open it and examine its data to make sure it has not been corrupted.
If Disk Utility cannot repair your disk or reports "The underlying task reported failure," try to repair the disk again. If that doesn't work, back up as much of your data as possible, reformat your disk, reinstall Mac OS X, and restore your backed up data. If you continue to have problems with your disk, it may be physically damaged and need to be replaced. See an authorized Apple dealer for more information.

  • ITunes wont burn anything

I am running iTunes 6.0.2 and can not burn anything. I have had this problem since version 5 though. I can put a blank disc in and it goes thru the motions that it is going to burn but never gets past the preparing the disc. Any help at this point would be great.

Well, the latest version of iTunes requires a minimum G3 500 mhz processor. Your system is 400 mhz. So that could be the problem. Quicktime requires a minimum G3 400 mhz, which could explain the sluggishness, as you're right at the line. Newer apps require higher processing power, otherwise, they could present operation problems.
Also running Tiger on your system with 512 RAM can slow everything else down.
Other than that, to perhaps resolve the iTunes burn issue you can try a fresh copy of iTunes and see if that makes a difference. To do so: Remove the existing iTunes application from your system, including the preference files com.apple.iTunes.plist and com.apple.iTunes.eq.plist found in your User Library/Preference folder, and iTunes.pkg and iTunesX.pkg files found in your Main Library/Receipts folder.
Next, download a fresh copy of iTunes from the Apple site. Not sure if that version if 6.0.2. If not, go to software update to upgrade to the latest version. Repair permissions via Disk Utility after you're finished.
Next, you'll have to setup your preferences again. This includes making sure iTunes is pointed to your Music Library (preferences - advance tab>general).
    Post back with results.

  • ITunes wont continue to the next song

Ever since upgrading to iTunes 7 I have had the following problem. Occasionally iTunes will get to the end of a song and just stop playing. It will not move on to the next song. This will often happen after just a few songs have played in a very large playlist. How can I fix this?
      Windows XP Pro

    Hi!
Did you make sure that the songs which you want to play in a playlist or in the library one after another are selected through the checkbox on the left? Otherwise the songs won't play automatically.
    Hope this helps...
