Itunes wont download because Apple Mobile Support Device cannot be removed

I had an older version of itunes but an update came up. It said in order to download the update i had to uninstall the older version of itunes. I did but once i tried to upload the newer version, the installer said it could not be installed because the "apple mobile device support" could not be removed, i have tried everything and nothing has worked yet? Can anyone help me?

A window pops up and it is titled Windows Installer and it says "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click ok to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'Apple Mobile Device Support.msi' in the box below.
Perfect information thank you, Slowmotion. With that one it's not a BonJour issue ... rather, the installation configuration information for your existing Apple Mobile Device Support is damaged, and so Windows Installer can't remove it. So we'll have to clear the installation database for AMDS in order for the iTunes install to go through.
Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from Microsoft:

Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install CleanUp"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any *Apple Mobile Device Support* entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

It is Not available as a download... It is a Paid Upgrade.
Do this first...
Check that your Mac meets the System Requirements for Snow Leopard...

TS5376 Unistalling Appl Mobile Support Device

I've had to unistall iTunes due to an error message I was receiving regarding an updated and can't uninstall the Apple Mobile Support Device. The error message coming up now while trying to unnstall this programme is 'verifiy you have sufficient privileges to start system services'. I've tried to repair it and get the same message. I now can't re-install the iTunes until this has been removed. Any advise would be gratefully received.

HT1386 I recently got a new laptop and a with that a new iTunes library but my IPhone is still connected to my old laptop and will not sync with my new library i have downloaded the latest ITunes and restarted the apple mobile service device

When I try to download itunes it wont let me because it says the quicktime is needed. ive tried and tried and i got to the point were i actually downloaded quicktime seperatley and it still does not work. ive checked the forums up and down and i cant find anything. does anyone have any suggetions please?

Could you give the error message in full and exactly what you were doing when you received it.
The iTunes installer includes Quicktime and it should install it unless something goes wrong.
You should down load the installer from here:

And save the file on your desktop. It should be called iTunessetup.exe and your run it from the desktop to install iTunes.
Sometimes if there is a problem with installing iTunes it can help to install QUicktime separately. You need the version of Quicktime that does NOT include iTunes, which is not the default option.

So presumably you are running Leopard 10.5.8? You need to upgrade to Snow Leopard.
Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:

Itunes Wont Download from Apple Site

itunes won't download from the Apple iTunes page. Apple website states, "Thanks for downloading. You're only a few steps away from enjoying" but the site doesn't show any steps to take, just product info. and the program does not show on my computer.

Under normal circumstances, an uninstall/reinstall doesn't touch your content. (That being said, it's still always a good idea to maintain a current backup at all times in case of disasters.)

I had the same problem. iTunes would not recognize my wife's phone as a device. My phone was just fine. So here is how I fixed her problem after exhausting all the apple support tips. First thing I did was go to apple.com and saved the newest iTunes software to the desk top (do not install yet). Then I went into control pannel to uninstall software. Uninstall the following....Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple software update, Bonjour, and then finally uninstall iTunes. Then reboot your system, once reboot is complete go to your desktop and install the newest iTunes that you saved earlier. This worked like a charm...let me know if it helps
