i am having trouble downloading i tunes  a message informs me there is a virus in the program, any ideas?

That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

  • HT1933 my film wont download! keeps saying there is an error (-50), please help!

    as title

Thanks for the additional information. If it's just this one film and other downloads and functions work, it's probably an error in the iTunes Store database. Go here:
    http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html
to report the issue to the iTunes Store.

So presumably you are running Leopard 10.5.8? You need to upgrade to Snow Leopard.
Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
The OS 10.6 Snow Leopard install DVD is available for $19.99 from the Apple Store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    and in the UK:
    http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard to bring it up to 10.6.8, or download the combo update from here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
Check via Software Update whether any further updates are required, particularly to iTunes.
You should now see the App Store icon in iTunes, and you now need to set up your account:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4479
You can now upgrade to Mavericks OS 10.9 for free IF you have one of the following Macs, with not less than 2GB of RAM, and at least 8GB of available space on your hard drive:
    iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
    MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later), (15-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later), (17-inch, Late 2007 or later)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
Mac Mini (Early 2009 or later)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
If you cannot run Mavericks you can purchase the code to use to download Lion from the App Store (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard):
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/D6106Z/A/os-x-lion
    or Mountain Lion:

  • I just bough cc for a year and I can not download anything. It always says there is an error and I should contact the support team. What I tried: went to

I erased in the hostfile the files that blocked adobe. Before I could not log in to adobe at all. Before that I had a CC test version which ran off.
I erased everything form adobe cs 6 and cc before buying the abonnement now. Can anybody help me?

Usually it's fine, that's why I think the servers may be down. I don't usually connect with the cloud to download new apps so often (busy using the ones I already got )…

  • Software update says I need to do the lastest update which I have tried to do at least 6 times. It downloads the software, the computer restarts, it starts to finish the download and then says ' there was an error in installing the software" What is up?

Software update says I need to download MacOS 10.6.7. Each time I try, I have tried 6 times, the software downloads, it has me restart the system, it then writes the files to disk and then I get an error measage that "there was error in installing the softare. Anybody have this problem and how do you fix it? I am running 10.6.6

Try this before trying to install the update.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
If you still have a problem then I suggest you download the 10.6.7 Combo Updater and install it.

  • What is wrong when my computer says there is an error downloading photos from phone?

When I connect Iphone to computer to download images it says there is an error and it won't download them.  What is wrong?

As long as that junk is installed you really can't begin to figure out what's wrong.
You wrote you tried to repair the startup volume using Disk Utility. Did you do that after starting your Mac with OS X Recovery, and did it report any errors? Random freezes associated with disk access such as playing iTunes music would be a symptom of disk failure. Make sure you have adequate backups.

  • Seriously, this issue is really annoying. why wont my songs download? it wont stop saying there is an error. this needs to be fixed. refund or apple needs to put these songs in my itunes manually if that can be done.
