Hi lornaa12!
If you were trying to uninstall iTunes from your Windows computer (which is a necessary step to complete before you install a new version of iTunes), then you will want to see this article which can walk you through the proper procedure for uninstalling iTunes from your Windows computer:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

Can you start QuickTime on your computer?
You'll probably have to search for the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and use it to remove QuickTime Player and iTunes. Then download and install the iTunes again.

Q: i have recently aquired an iPhone 3GS and need iTunes do activate it.But iTunes wont download onto my computer. I am running Windows Vista Service Pack 2. Please HELP!!

I'd first try experimenting with a different browser. If you've been using IE for the download, try Firefox instead (or vice versa).
If no luck there, there's some other suggestions in the following document. (You're not getting the error message, but your problem here falls into the same general class of download trouble.)

    Okay.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

  • My itunes wont open ! No error message

My itunes wont open ! When I click on the icon nothing opens, not even an error message. Iv tried opening it from Windows Task Manager > Processes > Itunes.exe but nothing seems to work ! Itunes doesnt open when I sync my iphone either ! Please help

    Hi b,
I think I'm having the same problem as Vanessa (and a lot of others from the sound of it). When I click on my iTunes shortcut the hourglass pops up for a second and then nothing happens. I can't access the music store from the net either (I get a message that says "Loading... Please wait" and then nothing happens). I've turned off my firewall (Norton Personal Firewall 2003)and that didn't help. I tried Lorraine's fix with installing the files in Norton one by one and telling them to be permitted and that didn't work. I also tried a stand alone installation of Quicktime and that helped some (the quickTime player window does now pop up for a split second before disappearing when I click Quicktime) but I still can't access the music store. I thought I'd try your suggestion of looking in the task manager for my itunes.exe file but I can't find the task manager. Where is it?

  • ITunes wont download using windows 8.1 - your system hasn't been modified

    Hi
I recently bought a HP pavilion g6 running Windows 8.1.  When trying to download itunes i get an error message saying can't download because your system hasn't been modified. My laptop as well as windows is fully up to date. Any suggestions?

I have similar issue only the download is not taking place. From the apple site I hit download 3 different times, the file is not saved anywhere on my Lenovo Idea laptop. I have itunes on this laptop, the latest version it worked fine until I upgraded to win 8.1 last night. What a mistake!
The only error message I get is iTunes not working--stop program, try to search for solution, and wait, etc.
Any suggestions on how to get itunes working or a new download to actually work?
    Thanks.

  • Itunes wont download keep getting error

i keep trying to download itunes for my ipod nano and i keep getting this error (HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION\SHAREDDLLS) what do i do

Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?
If you still have the same error messages cropping up, then try the procedures from the following user tip:

  • Itunes wont start *with* microsoft error message

WHen i try to start itunes i get and error message that asks to send in error report, and when i click the technical info about the error it says that this file "f462_appcompat.txt" was included in the error.
Any ideas i have tried uninstalling both itunes and quicktime.

actually i get an Microsfot Visual C++ Runtime Library Error
Okay. Let's try swapping out that QuickTime one more time, taking a few additional explicit precautions this time.
Head into your Add/Remove programs. uninstall QuickTime.
Next, we’ll manually remove any leftover program files and folders.
    1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
    2. In My Computer, open Local Disk.
    3. Open Program Files.
    4. Right-click on the QuickTime folder and click Delete from the shortcut menu.
    5. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\.
    6. Remove the files QuickTime.qts and QuicktimeVR.qtx. (If you have "hide filename extensions for known file types" enabled on the PC, those files will appear as QuickTime and QuickTimeVR.)
    7. Restart your computer.
next, we'll get a fresh copy of QuickTime into your PC by doing a repair install of itunes.
switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the repair install.
go into Add/Remove and select itunes. click "Change" and then click "Repair".
if the repair install goes through okay, restart the PC and try launching itunes again. does it launch properly now?

  • TS3212 itunes wont download to windows 7

when attempting to download the latest itunes the website immediatly goes to the thank you page but does not start the download. I have disabled the pop-up blocker completely along with all antivirus and malware software and even suspended the firewall but nothing seems to help. The current version of itunes wont open. When attempting I get an error msg that says itunes library.itl was created by a later version.  Anybody else run into this same problem?

  • ITunes wont open-I get error message...

    Hello,
I recently built my own computer, and it has been working almost flawlessly for months.
About a week ago, I installed Adobe Photoshop CS2 on my computer, and suddenly I was not able to open iTunes. I just get the error message that says "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
    I have:
    -uninstalled Adobe Photoshop
    -reinstalled iTunes multiple times
    -rebooted
-copied iTunes program files from working computer
^none of the above have worked. Any ideas?
    -Bonbon

Oops, nevemind, I got it working again. I had installed a crappy codec pack that was obviously interfering with iTunes. I uninstalled the codec pack and, TAADAH!!, it worked.
