hi jb!
but my brother's wont eject from itunes. what's going on?
just checking on some things first. are you getting a message saying that the ipod is in use by another application?
if so, by any chance, do you have McAfee ActiveScan security software installed on that PC?

  • Itunes wont update ipod! please help!

For some reason when i plug my ipod into my computer it won't update my ipod! It recognises the ipod and says "do not disconnect" but it wont add any new songs at all. I'm going away tomorrow and i really want all of my newest music to take with me. Its an old but fully working 40gb touchbar. Please help! xx

Maybe you have the iPod set to manual transfer, in which case you need to drag and drop music from iTunes into the iPod.
    Check in iPod preferences.

  • ITunes automatically ejects iPod

I'm new to iPod/iTunes and I'm really really disappointed. I payed US$ 300 for my Nano (it is more expensive here in Brazil) but it is not working, thanks to iTunes.
My USB drive is really working well - I must say it before you ask it.
The problem is that as soon as I connect my iPod to my computer, iTunes opens by itself (without my permission. I've already tried to change it but *the program doesn't accept my settings*). And when iTunes is completely loaded, it automatically ejects my iPod. This is REALLY annoying me.
I've been searching on the internet for two nights and it seems that nobody has a solution for that.
    What should I do now?
PS: YES, I'm using the latest iTunes version, my Windows IS XP/SP2, I've already tried those 5R's thing.

I had already tried it and it didn't work, because, as I said, iTunes automatically ejects the iPod, so the changes that I try to make in its configurations are not accepted.

  • Itunes wont see ipod

been having problem and did the 5 R's total restore and now ipod is empty like its new, but now itunes wont see it when I plug it in. it does nothing. In my computer I see the ipod at F drive but it wont do anything from there on out. Any ideas.

See if any of these articles help.
USB drivers are not installed properly or are out of date.
iTunes 7 doesn't recognize the iPod.
iPod appears in Windows Explorer but does not appear in iTunes.

  • PLEASE ! itunes wont update ipod

    - What version iTunes is installed on your computer?
    - Are you sure you have a 2G iPod? See the following for identification:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353
    - If you have a 1G model you can get the latest iOS (3.1) via:

You may have to use another browser to get the sublink to properly work.

  • Itunes wont reckonize ipod touch

trying to restore and itunes wont reconize it

What is status of the iPod?
If it recognized the iPod before try:
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Help! iTunes wont recognise iPod and ive tried everything..

I seem to have this ongoing drama with iTunes. I thought it was all over last week when I updated iTunes with the latest version. Everything was sweet for a couple of days. Now its back!
    Whats happenning is this:
    I connect iPod.
Nothing happens, it doenst start up iTunes.
    So I manually open iTunes.
iTunes is very slow. Finally opens up.
Then it spends another 5mins "frozen".
Finally the iPod pops up but its asking me to re-name it.
It asks me this every time.
When it syncs it takes a long time.
When I ask it to eject, it takes probably 20min.
Sometimes i have to eject it from My Computer.
This is what I have tried to do:
    Restart the computer.
    Restart iPod.
    Change USB ports.
Restore iPod from iTunes - it never actually completed this as after 2 hrs of watching the progress bar not going past the first stage I gave up!
Re-install iTunes. Couldnt get it to go past the part where it was stopping a service? Dont know what this means but it wouldnt re-install.
So can anyone suggest what I should try now cause I am stuck.
Please if you have a suggestion I would appreciate your help.
    Thanks.

Update - I have discovered that iTunes will only recognise my iPod if I open it in the following order 1)Connect iPod, and 2)Open iTunes. If I already have iTunes open and then plug the iPod in it wont work.
Its still asking me to set up the iPod and it takes around 5mins to detect the iPod is connected.
    Please can anyone help me?????

  • ITunes wont open iPod & Synch

I just got an iPod Touch and I had to use my laptop to actually set it up. My music files and everything is on my PC however the PC doesnt always work for too long.
Anyway, I hooked up the USB to the PC with my iPod hooked to it and the PC opened a folder that said "Computer/Apple iPod" however iTunes isnt synching the ipod. It wont even show up on the program. How can i fix this?

I tried doing that but it wont even show up as a drive on the computer. I have an iPod nano synch cord so I was thinking that maybe that was the problem. Do the different iPods use different cords or do you think it could just be a computer error or something. My laptop does it all fine I just dont have a link between the two computers.

  • My itunes wont detect ipod touch over wifi

i always use itunes wifi sync for syncing songs and movies into my ipod but yesterday i got the error of bonjour service problem
i had this error  many months before but i solved this problem but now my ipod is not getting detected on itunes i tried to  delete bonjour from add/remove programs and then re-install itunes but still the problem is not solved ...please help

First, make sure your iPod software is up to date: iPod Updater - Version 1.1.1.
Try resetting it while it's connected to your computer:
    1. Lay your iPod down on your computer desk.
    2. Connect your iPod to your computer (if it's not already).
    3. Use your pointer finger from your left hand, and press down on the Menu button.
    4. Wait a few seconds.
    5. Use your pointer finger from your other hand, and press down on the Select button.
    6. Hold them down together until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't work, try connecting it via a different USB port. If not, try restoring it with the latest iPod Updater.

UPDATE- as of a few seconds ago, Itunes synced with my ipod again!!
first, i checked my user profile and saw that i was running on windows 7, service pack 1. (as I knew)
I right clicked on itunes, and went to properties. Then i went to security. Then, under group/username i clicked on my name.

i then clicked edit and gave myself full control and Bingo, itunes is up and running. Hopefully this will help somebody out there!

  • Itunes wont reckonise ipod classic

when i conect the classic to Mac it reads OK To Disconnect ea time..... then it wont rekonise.... iphone works fine with same lead and usb port ... any help would be great....thanks

Do a Reset of the iPod, if you have not already (this restarts the iPod).
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1320
If it immediately says OK TO DISCONNECT on the iPod screen, it may be seeing the connection only as a power connection (like connecting it to a USB power adapter).  That could be caused by the USB cable or the dock connector on the iPod being worn out, so that the "pins" for the data connection are not working (althoug it still connects for power).
If you have another USB docking cable (preferably one that is newer), try using that one to see if it makes any difference.
