  • Help!!  iTunes wont download album artwork

itunes will not upload artwork from the cd's (albums) that were already loaded in my pc (before I added itunes and my ipod). It certainly uploaded EVERYthing else. It says that I don't have directX downloded so, I downloaded it. When I try to get it to download missing artwork, it wont. Now I'm just ill about the whole thing. Please help. Thanks

just go to amazon, find the cds you want, drag the photo to the desktop of your pc and then hook it up to your itunes, tell which songs you want it with and you're done.

  • Itunes 12 "get album artwork" feature doesn't work

I've noticed that ever since upgrading to itunes 11.4 (and now also 12), this feature has stopped working. It seems to be retrieving the artwork (i.e. there is no failure message and I see the dialogue "getting artwork..." ) but when I look at the song I don't see the artwork attached.
Is there a solution to this problem?
    Thanks
    Netta

Well first confirm that the great hits are actually in iTunes... It could happen, but they might not be there, who knows.

  • How do I get my artwork to show up when I move library to second computer?

Like many, I've spent a lot of time getting my music and artwork correct and the way I want it.
I want to move it to a second computer but no matter how I try, much of the artwork doesn't follow the music.
iTune's "Get Album Artwork" will not find many of the missing ones and in some cases gets the wrong one or of low quality.
How do you duplicate iTunes exactly?
The apple support I've talked hasn't been able to help.
    Thanks!

I have my itunes in a shared folder. ITunes is all that is in the folder
Exactly what iTunes folders and files are in the Shared folder?
Is the folder named iTunes or *iTunes music* (or iTunes media).
The iTunes folder with library files and artwork files and music are stored in /user/music/iTunes/ by default.
If you change iTunes prefs Advanced - iTunes music (or media) folder to another location, the media files are stored in this new location but the iTunes library files and artwork are still located in /user/music/iTunes/.
I may have deleted songs but not trashed them. As far as I know it's almost impossible to find them now.
Use this script -> List Music Folder Files Not Added v2.0
This script recursively searches user-selected folders for files not added to iTunes and creates a text file listing their file paths.

  • ITunes can never find artwork

I have not been able to get artwork for albums I've imported in the last week or two. I tell iTunes to get album artwork, and I just get an error saying that it could not be found. I have repeatedly checked, rechecked, renamed, and verified the artist and album names with the iTunes store, so, yes, the albums are listed in the store, and I know there aren't any discrepancies keeping iTunes from matching the info. Why is this not working? The albums today are Sick Puppies - Tri-Polar and MuteMath - Armistice as the most recent cases. I can even click the arrows next to the album name and iTunes will take me to that album in the store.
NO, I do not want you to tell me how to add artwork manually. I want high quality/high resolution artwork that you can only get from iTunes.
YES, I have checked for updates to iTunes. I have also logged out, logged in, authorized, deauthorized, restarted, updated Genius, and waved a rubber chicken.
NO, do not respond saying "check the names" or "it worked for me". Helpful responses only.

The artwork for several titles came up all wrong!! Now I put in a Wanda Jackson CD and the picture of some MAN came up!!! ***???
A Trisha Yearwood CD came up with a pic for "Trisha Haywood"!!! And the art for Swing Out Sister is also wrong!!! Bob Seger's "Face the Promise" won't come up at all!!! Will uou guys please fix this cuz it's driving me to drink!!!

  • ITunes cannot get track names

    hi community,
although this subject is one often talked about, I have to reask it because my parameters are different from the other discussions.
Frist seen this error was when I transferred my music files per "home-sharing"-function between my MacbookPro (with CD-drive) and my iMac (without). After transferring while using >home-sharing > song-selection > "import" > importsettings as everytime (wave, 48kHz, Stereo, 16-bit) I tried to update the songnames and the artwork by "get album artwork" (worked fine) and "get track names" (error appeared).
So I was sad about not getting my music files working correctly on my iMac without buying an external drive, because "remote disk" is unable to share music and video cds/dvds.
So I thought about completing my music on my MBP (Snow Leopard) and transferring manually by copying and importing (that worked for some other files before).
I inserted the cd, started importing with settings above. After importing I saw that the tracks names saved on the cd weren't that optimal (correct yes, but the title included album and interpret, which I dont like: ALBUM: INTERPET - SONG".
So I searched the cd in iTunes (to know wether there are disc-info and disc-artwork to import), found it and tried to start getting track names. But the error appears.
Error-message (should be known): iTunes cannot get CD track names for files, which are not imported by iTunes. To get track names please import the CD with iTunes.
So I >imported< (not added) the CD directly about internal SuperDrive to my iTunes library. It got some file names from the CD, the album cover was taken from iTunes with "get album artwork". But getting tracknames ends up in this curious error.
Someone here, who finessed iTunes in this case? Deleting files completely and reimporting didn't make any difference. And changing all song names manuelly is actually no option because I have not enogh time yet.
Remeber the error appeared in this cases:
    - iMac 27" (late 2012), Mountain Lion 10.8.4, latest iTunes --> importing albums with home-sharing (with should be the same like importing a disc (iTunes asks for format, import-settings, etc.)
    - MacbookPro 15" (late 2010), Snoq Leopard 10.6.8, iTunes 11.0.4 --> importing CDs directly with internal superdrive. getting track names while CD is inserted worked, getting track names after ejecting cd to get iTunes-track-names got the error.
Maybe intereseting that this issue didn't appeared when I first set up my collection some month ago (in the meantime I cleaned up my MBP and know wanna make complete new collection). that time i think there was iTunes 9 or 10 actual ... but same discs etc. worked before. And on my iTunes on PC, where I made another music database for myself these month ago, everything worked perfectly fine including getting the track names ...
I'd be very glad if someone knows how to cope with this issue.

This is an error that just started appearing on my iMac 27.  Pain in the A**!!

  • ITunes cannot download album artwork

I am using iTunes 7.5 on Windows XP, and have imported my music from my CD collection using iTunes. While iTunes is able to detect the album, artist, and song titles and download that information from the Internet, it does not do so automatically. (The option is set to automatically check in Preferences, but the information is still not retrieved unless 'Get CD Track Names' is selected from the menu.) The iTunes Store does not appear in the 'store pane' at the bottom of every window, and is only accessible through the 'iTunes Store' option on the left.
In iTunes, when 'Get Album Artwork' is selected from the menu, the following message appears after processing all of the albums: *"Could not get artwork for some albums."* When the "##+(total number of albums)+ notifications" is expanded, the following error is shown for every album in the library: *"Artwork for "+(Artist Name - Album Name)+" could not be found. An unknown error occurred. (-609)"* This happens even when the option is selected from the menu manually, and CD track names can still be downloaded. This problem only occurs on a certain computer; another computer running iTunes 7.5 on the same network works fine without any of the problems mentioned.
I noticed that several other users had posted similar questions a few months ago in other forums, but none of them had found a solution. Has anyone else experienced this problem, and are there any known ways to correct it?

I think that the iTunes database in your Windows user profile might be corrupted. I managed to solve the problem by creating a new database and reimporting my songs into the library. The album art downloaded automatically after that.
    1) Check the Automatically download missing album artwork is selected on the General tab in iTunes preferences
    2) Close iTunes
    3) Rename the iTunes folder (usually found in +My Music+)
    4) Reopen iTunes (this creates a new iTunes folder in +My Music+)
    5) Copy and paste the contents of your music folders (+iTunes Music+ folder) into the newly created +iTunes Music+ folder
    6) Reopen iTunes and select File > Add Folder to Library > Browse to your iTunes folder in +My Music+ > OK
Your music will then be imported into the new iTunes database and the album art should be downloaded automatically.

  • Why wont my iTunes download the album artwork for the cd's that I import?

I'm a new Mac owner so I may be overlooking something simple. I have imported a few CD's succesfully but when i select "Preferences" and "Get Album Artwork" a message comes up that says "Could not get album artwork". I have looked in the itunes store to see if they have the album and its there... so why wont iTunes import the artwork to the albums i have imported? Thanks!

Where else can I get this?
    On the World Wide Web!
iTunes will find the artwork if the album is available in the iTunes Store and your metadata precisely matches the Store data, in every respect (spaces, punctuation, spelling).
If iTunes does not get the art, simply use a web search to find the correct image.
To paste an image into a song file, highlight the file, use the command File > Get Info, open the Artwork tab, and drag the image into the space for art (or use Copy/Paste).

  • Itunes wont open, I get "itunes application could not be opened. An unknown error occurred (-50)"

I'm on Windows 7 - using itunes daily without problems and suddenly itunes wont open, I get "itunes application could not be opened. An unknown error occurred (-50)"  The only thing I can think is I think there was a download in progress when I shut down the computer.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalled, but I get the same thing. I tried clearing the itunes folder and reinstalling, same thing. help!

Doublechecking. When you did the complete uninstall, were you using the following document as a guide?
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
(If damaged program files are involved here, a standard install might not remove them, and a reinstall might not then replace them. So the Verify iTunes and related components are completely uninstalled section is an important step.)
