Itunes wont install tried everything

i have tried to install itunes 8. comes up with not a valid win32 error. have deleted installer. dont have quicktime installed so tried to install and it came up with the same error. please help....

Saying you have tried everything doesn't help because no one else knows what you tried.
Have you seen this article on trouble installing iTunes:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1926
It contains advice about your error and other general help.
You could try downloading with a different browser if you have one. Turning off popup blocking and also web accelerator software if you have it.
Also when you download iTunes, save the installer on your desktop and run it from there. Also turn off virus checking during the actual install.
If none of that works, you could try downloading from an alternative site assuming the mods don't edit out the link which they sometimes do.

Have you had any problems with downloads from other sites?

  • Itunes wont install - trying to remove a corrupt older version

I cant install itunes because it tries to uninstall an old version. I get an error message saying it is looking for a file that no longer exists, which i can no longer find on my computer either. Actually it is looking for itunes.msi which I have searched for all instances on my computer, and it will not accept any of them as the correct file.
I am also unable to unistall the old version from control panel for the same reason.
How can I get itunes to install or how can I remove the old version manually?
Alternatively, how can I trick the new install to not try and remove the old version?
    Any thoughts. PLEASE!
    Thank you,
    Neil

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Itunes wont open - tried everything, help!

I have installed the new itunes and now it wont open, i've uninstalled it, reinstalled it, installed new versions etc.
    Anyone got any advice?

I got this from somewhere else in the communities -- and it worked! Here it is just as the person who posted it .
+Hi People, thanks for your help. I had the same problem. After being prompted to update to iTunes Ver. 9.1 I went ahead and let it automatically update and install iTunes and Quicktime. After updating to Ver. 9.1, iTunes would not open or run on my Windows XP system. It would show up in "processes" as a running program but would not show up on my screen.+
+After reading your discussion about how Bonjour would interfere, I tried to uninstall it. It wouldn't uninstall because it is using one of the processes. I tried quite a few things including completely uninstalling all Apple programs and reinstalling iTunes. I manually uninstalled Bonjour. No luck!+
++Here's what you need to do. After reinstalling iTunes, Navigate to the Program Files\ Bonjour+ folder and rename this folder Bounjour.Old. Restart the computer. Bounjour service should not now show up as a service in Administrative Tools\Services. DELETE the Bonjour.old folder. THEN go to Control Panel - Remove Programs and REMOVE Bounjour. It will now uninstall sucessfully.+
+After doing this iTunes started right up, loaded all my old settings, and recognized my iPod just like normal. Hooray and good luck.+

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

HELP!! Itunes wont install on Windows 7.  I get an error msg. there is a problem with this windows installer package. A program required to install to complete could not be run.  Contact your support personnel or package vendor. WHAT NOW?

Ok, Below is what worked for me somewhat.
Okay ... try downloading and saving a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe to your PC from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Now download a trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.php
Open the iTunesSetup.exe with WinRAR, and try to run the standalone install of Apple Application Support from the AppleApplicationSupport.msi you find in there.
It works now BUT there are still problems.  It is not allowing or recognizing my Cd/DVD player and i CANT burn.  Looking still for this fix.

itunes wont install, runtime error R6034 also 'apple mobile device' wont start! help!

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • I have just bought a MacBook but can't seem to sync my Contacts or Calendar from my iPhone 3GS to my iTunes, I have tried everything, even the icloud doesn't seem to do it.

I have just bought a MacBook but can't seem to sync my Contacts or Calendar to the Address Book or iCal via iTunes, I have tried everything including watching support videos and putting this into a search engine. Even icloud doesn't seem to be doing it.

If you are trying to sync via iCloud, make sure your MacBook is running OSX Lion 10.7.7, and that you have set up your iPhone as described here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/ and you MacBook as described here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.htm (including turning On Contacts and Calendars as shown in step 3).  If you're syncing via iCloud don't check to sync in iTunes too (on the Info tab in iTunes) or you may end up with duplicate data.

  • Itunes wont install, 'error occurred before installation' Tried everything, help!

ok I tried to avoid asking and fix it myself but it just wont work.
I've fully uninstall all parts of itunes, just like it says in the support site here, and in the correct order
I've deleted every bonjour, apple and ipod folder (and/or anything to do with apple) from my computer
    restarted
    failed
    downloaded from internet explorer
    failed
I don't know what I'm doing wrong and I'm at my wits end

Turingtest2's notes on Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates cover just about all the possible options and steps for cleaning up a prior iTunes installation before trying to install a new version.  You'll also find links to current and recent versions of iTunes - if you have no success with the current release (12.1.1.4) it may be worth trying the alternative "for older video cards" installer, or rolling back to a previous release.
