Itunes wont open. Says some files are required and to reinstall

I have done it twice and still it says the same thing. can someone please help

Hi together.
Now that I've been working on this problem for a couple of days I still have no idea how to solve it.
During the installation process for iTunes 7.5 an error-window pops up with the message "iTunes cannot run because some of its requiered files are missing." I've tried to un- and reinstall all components several times without any success. I also tried installing older versions of iTunes with the same result. Starting QuickTime ends on reporting Error 2093. Also re-installing Windows fresh and virginal did not help anything.
The error messages occured first after installing Win XP Pro's SP2 on my computer. Before that everything worked fine. I would have gone back to SP1, but I need that **** SP2 for Visual Studio.
Maybe there's someone out there who knows how to cope with that.

I keep getting an error message saying it can't dis-install the old version Missing itunes64 files.
    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • I have 2nd gen. Ipod shuffle I restored it and now when i am trying to sync it, it is showing that some files are missing and it is not getting sync what should i do???

I have 2nd gen. Ipod shuffle I restored it and now when i am trying to sync it, it is showing that some files are missing and it is not getting sync what should i do???

Master reset...? Your device was jailbroken prior to you purchasing the device. The only symbol you should see on reboot is an Apple symbol. Download redsnow... google it! Download the latest version and your IPSW (ipod restore firmware) it has to be the correct version. And the "just boot tethered" should fix your device.
But that's only if you didnt back the device up. If you don't care about any of the data on the ipod then you can simply open itunes navigate to the device and click the restore button. This will restore the ipod firmware and install a fresh copy. Good luck let me know if you have any problems.

  • I cannot seem to edit PDF files on Adobe Acrobat as it says the files are protected and I need to enter a Permissions Password?

I cannot seem to edit PDF files on Adobe Acrobat as it says the files are protected and I need to enter a Permissions Password?

If the files have a permissions password, you need to know it, and remove security, before you can edit the files. That is correct.

  • During installation of iTunes appears an error message: Itunes cannot run because some files are missing. What can I do?

Recently I received an iPad2 as a gift. I had iTunes because an iPod I had. First I put some productivity apps through my computer. Then I bought some other games apps through WiFi. then when I try to synchronize, I lost my productivity apps and just keep those buy on WiFi. Now I try to install iTunes again, and what I received at the end is a message that tells me "iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes".
I did it a couple of times. Same result. One of this times, I also retired those programs recommended on help page: iTunes, QuickTime, Bonjour, Apple Mobile, etc. (in the order indicated)
    Your help will be appreciated.

same issues here... Using windows 7... I can't install none of the 3 soft. No Safari... No Quicktime... No Itunes... Running 32 bit windows... Error messages "Error 7" and some other error messages durint install...  Any help will be appreciated... Thanks

  • Itunes will not run some files are missing

When I click on itunes it states can not run because some required files are missing. Please reinstall Itunes? Why would this happen?

With that one in that context, I think we should check for malware.
Try downloading and installing the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware. Update your MBAM definitions and then run a full scan of the PC. (Takes about 2 hour on my Lenovo.)
    http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
Does the scan find any infections? If so, please paste the contents of the log file for the scan in a reply here so we can have a look.

You should first uninstall iTunes completely.
This is not an easy task!

Then download the latest version of iTunes for your Windows Version and install it.

  • My itunes won't open, it keeps saying that it cannot open as some files are missing. It has been like it for months and I can't get it working

Please help, I keep  removing and installing itunes but I still can't open it. Every now and then it will let me in but I can't do everything that I should be able to do.

I gave my two cents on another forum post, but will also place it here.  I figure why not, more eyes and all that.
Not sure if you solved your problem, you probably did since there is no follow-up.  But since I am in the midst of this quaundary, I'll give you a little heads up.  I think 13010 might be when iTunes can't find a library.  This does not mean your music is missing as you can have your media folder (containing all your actual iTunes files) and your library folder (the database that organizes all of your media files) in separate locations.   I recently got a new computer and first pointed to the new media location and then also iTunes started to download the itunes library but for some reason deemed it damaged and may have removed it from it's original location as it can no longer find the library folder in that location.
My problem is this, no other forum post has helped me much in regards to the 13010 error.  I removed the extras and genius files and still got the 13010 error.  I reinstalled iTunes and still the 13010 error.  At this point I am willing to scrap everything just to get a factory fresh version of iTunes and then attempt to import all my old media into it and then reorganize it myself.  But as far as I know, there is no easy way to do this.

  • Music I purchased on I Tunes is not available when I open ITunes in I Movie.  I Movie says those files are "protected" and not accessible.  What does that mean and can I change them to "unprotected" so I can use them in IMovie?

Most of the music that I purchased on I Tunes I bought and downloaded on my old I Mac which I replaced with this I Mac about 9 months ago.  When I"m using I Movie on this I Mac and try to open I Tunes tab in I Movie, most of the files are not accessible because I Movie says those fields are protected. What does that mean and can I change those files to unprotected so they show up in my music in IMovie?
    This I Mac is OS X version 10.9.5 Maverick, 2.7GHz Intel Core 15 processor, 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 memory.

Your older iTunes music purchases included DRM software to prevent sharing.

For some money you can get it removed and get a better quality file to boot.

  • My itunes has stoped working it says some files are missing

My Itunes has resently stopped working it says that some fiiles are missing i cannot access it and i do not know what to do

  • TS1717 itunes wont open, says its missing msvcr80.dll. I cannot find out how to get this fixed...

i cannot get computer to open itunes, it keeps saying needs msvcr80.dll i cannot figure out how to fix this.

Looks to me like Apple's iTunes update isn't applying newer versions of:
    Apple Application Support
    Apple Mobile Device Support
These are built-in to the setup.exe. The consumer way of fixing them is a total uninstall of iTunes and the above packages. You can include Bonjour but I don't think that's causing the problem. Now when you install iTunes it gets the latest version of these.
More advanced users can extract the applemobiledevicesupport64.msi and appleapplicationsupport.msi files and run these if already at iTunes 11.1.4. Include the itunes.msi/itunes64.msi if it's an older version of iTunes that's broken. Doing this has repaired my clients without the messy/lengthy process described by Apple on http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
